So we have just put Lexie onto Karicare AR Formula, Obviously this stuff is pretty thick so my question is would it be okay to maybe put Lexie on the 3 month + teats now because it takes so long for her to get through her bottles now? She just gets quite frustrated when she is already fussy and she has to suck pretty hard I am guessing to get it out.

Argh had another question to ask but can't remember it at all now!

if you dont want to go up a teat maybe just make the whole larger in one and see if she prefers that.

i know i give up using straws cos it takes so long to get a mouthful, so i can understand if she feels this way with thick milk and slow teats

Bex - what bottles are you using? If you are using Avent, they have a variable flow teat that you just turn the bottle to move from 1 through 3 flow. Might be worth a try? I used them for Sophie for a while when she was between sizes - saved on washing up and having to use two teats every feed. http://www.consumer.philips.com/c/avent-baby-bottle-feeding/variable-flow-3m-plus-scf635_27/prd/gb/ - avent

Thanks guys, Julia they sound pretty great so you just turn the bottle itself while its in her mouth and it changes the flow? sorry a little confused! Will PM you now though coz they sound like a good idea to try out

sorry Bex - the teats all hit the bin last time I had a cleaning frenzy. I have about 40 spare lids and the white screw on bits though . Hopefully Anthea can help you out.

Bex let me know how you go with the teats, baylee is in between sizes at the moment and it can be frustrating for both of us

Might go and get a couple to see if they help

The container actually says to go up to a fast flow teet - i didnt read it properly whe i put my daughter onto it and she was almost turning the teets inside out!

Put her onto a stage 3 closer to nature teet and all was good :)

We went up to medium teats in the closer to nature bottles the day we put Libby on AR formula. She sucked for 1/2 an hour and didn't get anything out of the bottle. Medium teats seem to have made the feeds quicker.

How's Lexie doing on it? Libby's been on it for over 2 weeks with no result. The doctor told us to put gaviscon in it too and that helped but no more than the normal s26 formula so we're going back to s26 newborn as soon as this tin runs out.
