Has anyone coverted their Touchwood cot from a cot to a bed? Do you "have" to buy a junior bed end or can you just take both sides off and not buy the extra bit?

Think it depends on what model you have. We had two Touchwoods, first one came with safety rails and removeable legs so all ready to convert into a bed, but they don't make that model anymore. I think with the newer models you might need to purchase additional ends?

I got mine about the time you got yours Flissty, and the information I got with it stated that it would convert from bassinet to cot to toddler bed to day lounge (suitable to seat two adults). No mention of needing anything extra - but I've started wondering if I could get safety rails to fit it....

Yeah, I have a newer model and think that I can remove the movable side and have it as a day bed.

To convert it to a real toddler bed I think I need a different bed head. Although it is possible to remove both sides of the cot at the moment, I think the two ful size ends would put too much stress on the screws if they weren't supported by anything.

Yeah, that's my concern. Especially if Dan started jumping on it.

FS - I also don't remember them saying anything about needing an extra bedhead in the instructions (ours is slightly older though - secondhand).

Hmmph, there goes my "save money by converting it into a bed" plan. Maybe we'll just have it as a day bed and he'll have to deal with it!

The pictures of them as a bed have one shorter end (the foot end), so I would imagine you would need to purchase that
