Has anyone had one of these? I'm just not sure if I'd get lots of use out of this or not...
There seem to be lots on trade me, which makes me wonder if lots of people haven't found these useful....

Opinions???! :-)

I have one and it was our best buy I think. My daughter was born in September and it was still a bit chilly so I could wrap her up nice and snug inside it. You can't really do that when just using the harness. Also she didn't look secure until a few months old in the harness and she was a good-sized baby. We used it heaps when we were out at people's houses for her to sleep in, rather than the capsule. I think we stopped using it after 3 or so months as the weather was too warm. A friend also borrowed it and used it for longer with her June baby.

Our baby was born at the beginning of December and I've been using it all over summer and found it great. We haven't used the top that zips up over him but like it better than putting him straight in the bottom as it seems more snug and comfy (rather than laying on top of belts). He's 3 months now and probably reaching the limits for length - but like jessiesmum he's a bigger than average baby for length.

So yeah, I'd recommend

I'm going to go against the trend and say I found it a BIG waste of time and money. Baby didn't like it, it didn't last very long because he liked his arms to be able to move and it just wasn't wide enough.
I think the a peanut would be better as it has hard sides and it is bigger but haven't tried one. Honestly I found that the buggy was enough and Ds loved sleeping in it.
Oh and with the wrapping thing I just wrapped him and didn't use the straps unless doing some serious walking. I only used straps when he started to wiggle.

We loved ours too ... it also meant that I didnt have to take him out of the pram persay when I went to take Isabelle to her toddler things, I could just lift the entire cocoon out and carry him around, he never knew the difference!

'd it!

The only downside is .. Elias was a really tall baby so it didnt last us that long.

I borrowed one with my second and TBH wouldn't bother buying one unless I could get it cheap.

DS only lasted about 6-8 weeks in it as he just got too big for it.

Both my boys were just as happy to sleep in the buggy. I use to have a wee blanket that I put down in the buggy and they were quite comfy and happy.

Thanks for sharing your opinions guys!! I'm keeping an eye out on TM...if there's one cheap I'll consider it! If only I lived in Nelson - one there (pick up only) went for $10.50 two nights ago! Bargain!

i bought one for my son and put a bassinette mattress in it to make it extra cosy, he used it until he was about 10 weeks old, i found it a life saver- i put him in it when ever i was out and he slept so well, also used it as a portable bed when we went out of town, also u can swing them by the handles and rock them to sleep. My friend is now using it for her girl and loves it also.
Will def keep mine for the next baby.
