What are you all up to for Easter this year? Any family traditions you'll be continuing, or new ones you'll be starting? And how many chocolate eggs/bunnies will you be eating?

Warbirds over wanaka!!!WOOOOOOO!!!!
I'm very excited! Lol.
I hope we will do a easter egg hunt. We're going away with my parents... Dunno how they'll feel about doing it for their 20-something year old children and son in law... LOL. It's worth asking, right?

Gah... it's early enough to be thinking about easter plans? Damn... I'd better start making some! I've booked the rest of the week off as leave (us Uni staff get Mon AND Tue off, so I only had to book Wed, Thur and Fri), but I haven't actually worked out what we're doing in that week!
As far as eggs, we don't really do much. When Bubs arrives I'll hide some eggs for him/her, we used to love our egg hunts as kids.
And Mum still gives us eggs, and we're 20-something too

We're having DD's christening and belated first birthday party, as it's the only weekend my family can escape work/uni! Looking forward to seeing everyone, and hopefully will get eggs.

2nd year running (so a newly created family tradition ) we are going to Kerikeri caravaning. We have friends who own 10 acres and they have set up part of their acreage as a camp ground just for their friends, complete with refridgerator, out door fire, dishwasher, microwave, sink with running water and bush bath! This year there is 40 people, kids & adults, going.
Last year we rented a caravan but this year at Christmas we purchased our own, so yay!
I have bought a cute little wire basket for egg collecting, I plan to do an egg treasure hunt for the little one, and yes Mum & Dad will be indulging too!

Every easter weekend for the past 4 or so years, we spend Saturday and Sunday in town at the Tga jazz fest. Normally Saturday we go as a family and sit in the cafes along the strand and eat and drink and listen to the bands play. Then Sunday just Dh and I go in for the afternoon.
This year Dh's family is having a get-together at dh's dad's place in kaitkati so we're having a big family lunch/dinner (probably having the Spit company do the catering), then spend sunday in town at the jazz fest.
I won't be going hungry that weekend!

I am going to try and get up to Rotorua for my cousin's 40th birthday. Fingers crossed I can get up there.

Nothing much this easter, MILs birthday is the following weekend and we'll be down in Welly for a contact course.
If eating hot cross buns and easter eggs can be considered a tradition well that's ours.
This is also going to be a year of 'lasts' - last Easter before we become parents enjoying having two days of work and a sleep-in I think.

I want to make http://www.marthastewart.com/photogallery/spring-treats#slide_16 - these.
I also saw another variation on that and it was a cup cake sprinkled with flake and with 3 little speckled eggs in the middle. So cute!
We will probably do an egg hunt with the big cousies again this year. My SIL organises it all - she's amazing. I love the idea of easter traditions though - especially egg hunts - so much fun!

Hmmm we don't really have traditions - tho we do have a yummy cooked brekkie and eat hot x buns and eggs! Taylor will be old enough his year to have a wee egg too. But am thinking of making some easter cookies or cupcakes.
And then probably insulating or gibbing or painting - whatever we're up to in Taylors big girl room makeover!

I took a photo of Brooke last year wearing bunny ears with a large Easter egg. Think I will keep that tradition going each Easter - only this year she might get some of the egg!

Last year we did an easter egg hunt for Sam using a series of photos of places around the house and marked them with minature easter eggs leading to her 'big' egg. It was loads of fun - so will definitley be doing that again this year.
There is a great easter egg hunt in Orewa that we will probably check out as well
Oh, and will try and eat as many choc chip easter buns as humanly possible while they are available
