Right i will try and write this as quickly as i can before being logged out (might copy and save it just in case too )

Our new place is covered with gardens - we have a pretty decent sized yard both front and back and the people who own it put in huge amounts of gardens! but then, they got a little overgrown, so when we moved in we thought "oh great...."

However, mike has been working hard and yesterday me and paris got our bottoms into gear and spent the day working on our special project together after daddy had finished clearing all the old scoady overgrown plants that were there.    We are now looking at a few other bits of garden that could do with brightening.

Paris and me, went to the garden centre, and got $1 plants, in lots of bright colours - she chose them, and we got her a small spade and a little watering can, and we both decided how we wanted to set them out and then we planted them. she thought it was great and i'm so glad we found some little kid-sized garden gloves which she thinks are just neat... and were only $3 so nice and cheap. We put in a few of the ferns that had been pot plants that me and mike had since we were flatting (and are now pretty large), and a couple of plaster of paris white plaques that paris made with shells in them. I think we might go and grab a few more plants to fill out the gaps next weekend, but for now we are both very proud of our efforts and thought i would share.

The cleared off piece of garden...

The large piece of dirt in this pic - is where the 'garden' originally went to... but we have halved it and planted grass so that the kids can have their slide and swing their after xmas.

Overall was a neat day - finally sunny, which we have been waiting for for ages, and we spent some nice time together, and it only cost us about $30 all up.

I'm not really much of a gardener myself - which is why we are pretty happy with the results. I do remember i used to love helping my mum plant her gardens, but she used to like flower where you plant bulbs andi was always dissapointed cos you didn't see results straight away. We are just personalising our gardens and making them more bright and cheery, (and low maintenance)

That's what we have been doing all weekend every weekend at the moment. We have massive amounts of garden here but the owners who use to be here really sucked at gardening so they wrecked it so we are redoing the whole lot

All Hannah wants to water, when we get the watering can out, is her own head

Anyway, the garden looks lovely!!! So cool that you have so much outdoor space. Our lawn is about 2 x 2m. Ok... maybe an exaggeration... but it's tiny. (But then this is Wellington... bloody lucky to have any grass!)
