I am pretty sure everything is fine - but I am feeling quite achy in my lower abdomen, and a little in my back. It's like period pain really, but I cant tell if it is a pressure pain from my ligaments stretghing or not.. I FEEL REALLY UNCOMFORTABLE. ACtually I probably wouldnt have worried too much except I have had a bit of dioreaha since yesterday and my crazy brain immeadiately wondered if the two were linked. BUt what confuses me is that the pain doesnt go and then come back, it is pretty constant, and if it was early labour surely it would come and go?
Ofcourse if it was I will know all about it in a few hours I am sure but just wondering what you guys think?!?!

Have you tried lying down? Labour pains don't ease with resting, but if they are braxton hicks or ligament pain etc. lying down might help you get comfortable. But ring your m/w if you are worried - that's her job.

how are you doing now? i have had those same kinda period aches on and off for the last few weeks and also the diarhea too, and my mind goes a little crazy, but i havent yet needed to ring midwife, as it tends to ease. could be all normal, as our bodies prepare for the birth, but it could also be a sign of pre labour? do what emma said, lie down etc... and keep an eye on it and ring midwife if in doubt.

I'd give your midwife a call if you are worried...it's probably nothing but better to be safe than sorry!

Thanks for the advice guys, I sat down for a bit and it seems to be easing off a bit so it must be ligaments I guess, but I will keep an eye on it and give teh m/w a call if it gets worse - I will have to remember that - to rest and see if it gets better -that sounds like a sensible way to check if things are getting started or not! THANKS!

I could be the diareaha (sp?). I had diareaha when I was about 20 weeks and had lower abdominal pain all that night and gave MW a call at lunchtime as it hadn't stopped. She said that things could be inflammed and if it hadn't settled back down by the next day I'd have a scan just to check, but it did settle down.

I've been having sort of period pain too - see post from yesterday. Apparently braxton hicks can feel like that.
Hope you are feeling better now. Take care.

ok so when you say you are going to the loo alot - do you mean #1 or #2? lol

If you need to pee heaps and you are very achy in lower abdo and lower back, then it could be a UTI? try some cranberry juice (make sure it's cranberry juice, not just cranberry flavoured drink) and if you like you can add it to some lemonade to dull it down but it's said to be good for that sorta thing. Maybe next time you see your midwife it'll show up in the wee-stick test. Otherwise i dunno.

hmmm yeah I was wondering about a UTI as well, but I am sure it would have showed up last week at my appt when I did the pee test... ah I think it's just my muscles and tendons gettign sore, it was just particularly bad yesterday cos I was really tired... this mornign after I had a good sleep I feel heaps better!
