Okay,so I'm a health care professional with 3 science degrees so tell me how i can be getting so much enjoyment out of my MCN's?
I love my baby's little padded bottom. I get a little warm fuzzy satisfied feeling every time i change her nappy. I love seeing the nappies on the clothes line and actually enjoy doing the washing every day! And I can sit and fiddle with the inserts and boosters for ages working out what combination i want for every occasion over the next few days. my youngest is 2 and i have been doing cloth nappies since my 2nd was about 3 months old (hes 5 in July). I still love the way she looks with her big night nappy on...i dont love the washing so much anymore tho! LOL!

LOL. Definitley not ! My eldest has been in cloth since she was 3 months old and I still love them Now seeing my little boy in them as well is so wonderful.

Hehe I used to love seeing them on the line too - but now I hate the washing part... But still love the "goodness" I feel when DD has her clothies on.
We had lost the cloth love for a while, am now trying to get it back - I miss her cute nappies! ------------- Mum to two beautiful kids

I love MCN's too! Any sare chance I get, I go look at the on the net. I've tried out lots of different types "just because". I enjoy everything about them and it feels so much better using them than disposables. |

Im the same too! i havnt bought any disposables for almost 3 months - such a great feeling.
I love choosing what one to put on him, dont mind the washing either (he is only 4 months old tho! so dont know how il feel about it in a years time! lol) -------------

Yeah I have an obsession too! can't stop looking (and buying) them off the net OOPS
I actually just brought some fabric to make my own wet bag, plus Ive just made my own liners. and will be looking at making my own wipes too! |

They will be successful!! Making nappies is sooooo much fun, especially when you've found minky Most of my DD's nappies are made by me now and it just adds to the excitement of washing them and seeing them on the line, hehehe

I'm so jealous, I ordered mine last Friday and am desperate for them to arrive. I'm even disappointed that it's easter as it's 2 more days to wait. I've been fantasising about washing and hanging them out too

I was also really hesitant about the soap nuts but I'm actually quite impressed with them. I wash my nappies with them and they never smell and always come up nicely. ------------- Adoring Mum to Talisin 8/9/11 and Kiara 18/01/10 |

They smell slightly vinegery after a wash, but really there's not much smell at all. Some people add some rosemary oil to their wash to give it a nice smell but I actually like the lack of smell. The other good thing is that you don't need the rinse cycle when washing with soap nuts so you use less water. Sarah, I just read the info on that link that thesaff posted, and it said you just put them in the machine in a little washbag that comes with them. Can't wait to try them out!
I'm not sure about the no rinse thing too, would you just select 'wash' then select 'spin' and bypass the rinse? Do you *have to* not do a rinse? I put the nappies in the machine and do a "rinse cycle" without the nuts then start the machine again with the soap nuts in for the actual wash (hmm, thinking about it now I guess I'm still using the same water as I would for a full cycle). Yeah you put 6-8 in a little bag that comes with the nuts then throw it in. To avoid a rinse cycle on my machine I leave the lid up (it then stops and beeps at me to tell me I've left the lid up) then move the dial around to do a spin cycle. ------------- Adoring Mum to Talisin 8/9/11 and Kiara 18/01/10 |
