Morning!
This last week my DS who is 6 months has been super clingy, I currently work 3 days a week & have been doing this since he was 4.5 months old, he loves daycare & is always so happy when he's there he never cries when I leave him in the morning & I go to breastfeed him around 11.30am everyday, he is happy when I get there & never cries when I leave, When I go to pick him up in the afternoon he is again happy, I have asked the staff & they say he's a pretty cruisey baby & he normally is but lately when I put him on the floor to play with his toys, which I rotate so there isn't the same old toy there (I usually sit there for awhile & play with him) he screams till I pick him up, once he's settled again I might have to nip off & get something (even if itls in the same room & he can see me) he just goes mental, even when he's playing with his Dad & I come into the room to do something & he see's me again no matter what my husband does he won't stop crying till I pick him up, I mean don' get me wrong I love his cuddles & wanting to be with me but it just isn't possible to carry him around all day. When i'm out with the pushchair or food shopping he's fine.
Any ideas here ladies?
Does this last long?

Please anything will help.

Thanks

My DS has done this too and it did pass after a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, it's hard work for a bit while they go through it. It's a development stage and for me, it's happened a couple of times. DS is the same with DH, he doesn't want him when he's upset, he only wants his mummy.
One thing that was suggested to me and seemed to work, is to tell him bye bye and I'll be back soon when I left the room and said hello when I came back. I think he began to understand, even when I was only leaving the room for a short period.

I'm sorry I couldn't offer much, but I hope he gets over it soon. Best of luck

Yep DD is ultra clingy with me, but gets super excited when she sees her dad. Shame her dad doesn't play with her much really except when its time for something else like bathing or sleep. Typical!

Anyway its suggested that you always say I'll be back in a second and never try to sneak out as they can't gauge time like we can and to them a minute seems like forever. And if you sneak out they don't know that your coming back.

I have been leaving DD once a week to go to dance classes and she has been fine so far! She is with someone she knows and her cousin and its a change of scene for her once a week I think this helps.

Its hard but it will get better (I tell myself this too) But as always when we hurt ourselves its mum that makes it better
