So this is silly question...

I only got my BFP yesterday and am waiting for BT results but after reading some on the mountains of literature my GP gave me I have the following question:

Are home made salads (lettuce, toms, cucumber, capsicum) ok if they have been pre-made and sitting in the fridge overnight?

I am a shift worker and regularly get up at 330am so make my lunch the night before... more often that not its salad with a tin of tuna or some cheese chunks... All the ingredients are fresh but then everywhere says prepackaged salads are no go??

just one of the million questions swriling around in my head

TIA

should be fine - just make sure you properly wash the salad ingredients and dry them before you put it in the fridge overnight

I eat home made salads all the time. I assume they are fine cause you know how long they have been sitting around whereas at a shop you have no idea

And keep them in the back of the fridge where it's extra cold!

Basically, don't freak out too much. If it's stuff you've made yourself you know how old it is, and as long as it's washed and kept cold and covered it's definitely fine within 24 hours. Just watch dressing (make sure it doesn't contain raw egg), and probably add your tuna/cheese and stuff close to when you are going to eat it.
As long as you're avoiding the 'danger foods' (shellfish, cold rice, deli meats, salad bars, and anything sitting within a dodgy temperature for any length of time) you'll be fine.
