Was browsing the treasures site for the first time in ages, and found this.. some ideas here I've never thought about.. hope you can use some
Things to do on a rainy day
* Have a book full of ideas for rainy/sunny days and when you don't have an idea in mind that day, look at your book for inspiration.
* Playdoh/painting/drawing are great ideas and you can make them more interesting by tracing your child's outline and let them go nuts decorating themselves.
*Simple origami patterns, get a book out of the library and it can be a lesson for both of you.
*Role playing is always fun. Make up a picnic basket and pack interesting sandwiches, biscuits etc into it, let your toddler help. Then lay out a rug and have a teddybears/animals picnic.
*Face masks with some paper plates, then decorate and dance to his/her favourite song wearing the masks.
* Play hide and seek
* Make up a story together and type it up so he/she can "read" it to daddy when he gets home.
* Take your child out into the rain and let them see what happens to dirt when it gets wet, same with plants etc etc and then them have a bubble bath when you get back inside followed by some nice warm milo.
* Cuddling up to your favourite video under blankets together with some fresh popcorn is just as exciting as going to the movies.

Jake loves playdough but is too young to really get the whole "molding" thing. We use cookie cutters, and things and he loves smushing those into the playdough.
Jake, Lewis, Taine and I played hide n go seek a few days ago. Jake loved it, but refused to hide. He liked to find me and Taine though. We hid in his little thomas tent.
Jake and I made a bird feeder on a rainy dsay. Fun to make but i have noticed that it asttracted a totle of NO BIRDS!!!!!!!
printed out some colouring pages from the net and colourred those, and then put them on his wall. I maed him some nice opnes and he did his own ones for taine's wall too.
baking is always fun. jake likes to eat flour
and always ALWAYS talk about how much fun housework is, consider it "training". jake loves to mop, sweep and vacuum (hehe sucker!)
