Hi there
I am 6 weeks 5 days and Im having some pretty bad nausea, I haven't vomited at all (a few close calls) but I have that nauseous, car sick feeling all the time.
Ive tried eating biscuits, crackers, ginger beer, lemonade, trying to be full all the time but nothing is really helping.
Does anyone have any tips to help this?
I was thinking about getting some sea bands have they helped people?
I know this is all part and parcel of early pregnancy but Im going back to work after the school holidays and Im not quite sure how Im going to cope so any remedies would be much appreciated thanks!

I tried sea bands with my first and they didnt help. just left huge welts on wrists!!
For my Second I used Morningmed spray by natropharm and it was brilliant! I still use it when I get random nausea(usually round AF).
Also with my second chocolate milk was my thing, I drank loads of it and it really helped.

Seabands have lived on me for the last 6 weeks.
Blackmores ginger and B6. Morningmed and nauseamed relief by naturopharm.
If it really bugging you try accupuncture. The earlier you start the more likely it is to work - I asked my accupuncturist about this today. I've been getting it for about a month and its brilliant for me

I was a mess from about 6wks too, so I totally feel for you!
I used a couple of herbal teas...
Artemis Digestive Ease Tea and
Earth Mama Angel Baby Morning Wellness Tea
Both were good if I had a cup, sipped slowly, before I got out of bed...
I likened the whole experience to the worst hangover ever...without the fun of the night before...and I found that bland food was good, hangover type food. Hot chips, battered fish, hash browns. I used to sometimes have a filet-o-fish with no tartare sauce, but that was hard to get through sometimes... I even found that ginger ale and ginger beer started to make me feel sick, but could've been because I had so much and associated it with the sick feeling.
Sucking on sour lollies also helped me... It was hard because what I could eat the day before made me feel sick the next day...
Just get down what you can... People all told me it would pass and at the time I couldn't really see the light at the end of the tunnel but it really does get easier and you will feel better!

Thanks everyone
Mealz79 I am definitely finding myself drawn to fatty things like pies, burgers, potato based things because of that hangover effect. I do just feel constantly car sick at hate being at home because Ive been at home for 2 weeks on holidays and thats when the sickness kicked in, so I associate feeling sick with being at home. Not cool. When did it pass for you? Where did you buy those teas from?
I ordered some seabands today and Im going to get some of the other products mentioned too, hopefully something will work!

I ordered the Artemis tea online...artemis.co.nz and my sister bought me the other one. I found the Artemis one better just because it didn't have ginger in it... It was delivered pretty quickly too.
I threw up 2 weeks ago, twice in one day, but that was the first time for about 2 weeks. I went from throwing up almost daily, to every second day, then second, third and fourth...it almost happened without me noticing. I actually found it easier once I started to vomit. I had about 2-3 weeks of just nausea and it was horrible...feeling sick and not being sick, and just feeling totally debilitated is horrible. I do a lot of driving for work and the car ride would make me feel sick too...
I got home one day after driving for 2hrs and burst into tears! I found it all so hard initially.
I focussed on getting to12wks, by 12 weeks I was definitely starting to have more good days than bad...but I think it was around 14-16wks that I really started to feel like my old self again...and then this pregnancy lark actually gets fun!!

Im glad to hear that you're feeling better, and glad to hear it gets better too- I really want to enjoy this and get excited about baby but the nausea has just taken my focus away from all of the good things about pregnancy and I feel sad about that.
I will have a look for that tea, anything that works Ill try!

Seabands dont work for me either.......blackmores ginger MS tabs worked great and there was no ginger taste thank goodness cos i hated ginger while preg........was a catch 22 a ginger beer would make me feel better but the thought of drinking one would make me feel sick......so the tabs were wonderful...........also aniseed balls for some reason worked also.
I found keeping busy took my mind off it..........I realised i needed to do something for my MS when the first day I had it, i polished off so much food to try and keep the MS away that i wouldve ended up the size of a whale if i kept eating like that. I did keep grazing and normally first thing in the morn before my tab i would dry reach a lot
When it was at its worst i had to take the naturopharm morning med tabs and the blackmores at the same time and the combination helped

Sea bands have to be positioned correctly to work. There is a specific pressure point that if you aren't on it means they won't work. I was about to give up on them until I read exactly where they were situated.

I'm living on barley sugars and lemonade iceblocks at the moment, which seem to be helping ... and I've heard MS is linked to low blood sugar (which is probably why mine is worst at night and in the morning).
And I agree that keeping busy helps, so hopefully it will get easier when you're back at work!
And here are some suggestions from Wikipedia:
- Lemons, particularly the smelling of freshly cut lemons.
- Avoiding an empty stomach.
- Accommodating food cravings and aversions.
- Eating five or six small meals per day, rather than three large ones.
- Eating fruits and vegetables high in water content. (Tomatoes, Watermelon, Cantelope, Grapefruit, Strawberries, Lettuce, Spinach, Zucchini, Grapes, etc.)
- Eating cabbage.
Trying the BRAT diet: bananas, rice, applesauce, toast and tea.[15]
- Ginger, in capsules, tea, ginger ale, or ginger snaps.
- Eating dry crackers in the morning.
- Drinking liquids 30 to 45 minutes after eating solid food.
- If liquids are vomited, sucking ice cubes made from water or fruit juice or trying lollipops.
- Vitamin B6 (either pyridoxine or pyridoxamine), often taken in combination with the antihistamine doxylamine (Diclectin).

I found Preggi Pops quite good in my 1st trimester. And eating something once every 2 or 3 hours.

Hey- Horrible feeling isnt it!! Ghastly infact. Seabands LIVED on me for 14 weeks... took me a couple of days to get the right spot.. but you know when you have it because within 5 mins the nausea goes almost totally again... they have to be in between the tendons in your wrist.. so I measure two finger widths down from wrist then found the tendons and kind of separated them and put the ball of the band in between.... manipulated it until it really was in between and then waited 5 mins.. if no relief try again. Once you have it you can do it instinctively. I kept mine on at night as I had the nausea in the night as well... they saved me.
I used Metaclopromide prescribed by doc when it was REALLY bad or on road trips etc.... that stuff is magic and no side effects... ask for it! Safe for baby too... double plus!
