I brought something from trademe and dont understand their bank account number.
They have sent it to me like this.. Account No.: xxxxxx BSB Number: xxx-xxx This is what my online bank shows when i want to make a payment.. Bank (2) Branch (4) Account (7) Suffix (2) How do i write it out in my banks format? Thanks (Sorry if its a dumb question lol) |

I think I may know, with my bank I have a client number which is 6 digits long, however if someone is to deposit into my account from another bank they need my 'interbank number' so ask them for their interbank number. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

Generally the format they have given you (with a bsb number) is used when making international payments, they aren't overseas are they??
If a NZ account the bsb number is more than likely the bank & branch code, and the account number will just need a 0 on the beginning, you will still need the suffix however you could just assume 00. Personally I hate messing with account numbers like that as you can never be 100% sure, so before changing it I would email them back requesting they send their account number in the format you have as that is the accepted format for NZ bank accounts. -------------  Angel Babies Nov 09, May 10, Dec 10

Yep that looks like Aus bank details to me. I'd email them back asking for NZ account details. ------------- Our Angel July 08  Gone but not forgotten

Thats what happens with overseas accounts.
May i ask how much you spent. Id be really careful before making this payment. Trade me rules state they have to give NZ bank account so id refuse to go through with the sale & report them to trade me. -------------

| PS If you do decide to go ahead, you'll pay a $25 (ish) fee in NZ, and the Aussie bank will take $10 (ish) fee at their end too. Quite expensive! |

a BSB account is an overseas one but as far as i know you aren't allowed to trade on trademe if you don't have a NZ bank account if you want message me (I work in a bank) and I can tell you if the account is a NZ one or Australian one ------------- http://lilypie.com">
