Has anyone else used these before? We got ours and I was so excited about it since it was just the $25 donation and looked awesome. But after reading about RF v FF in one of the other threads (which I can't find again for the life of me by the way - where did it go?) I decided to get it out and have a look at it. I put Cooper in it and he already needs the straps to be at the 2nd to top hole and if you move it to the top one it says it has to be FF. He's not even 5 months yet, so it doesn't seem like it will even last till 12 months RF. Does that seem right? It seems a bit weird to me. He's big, but not THAT big. Or don't babies get that much taller between now and 12 months?

So I'm disappointed as I was all set to have him RF for a couple of years.

Floyds still rear facing in his, he's 10.5kg and 80cms.  We have the strapes in the 2nd to top hole, and them seem fine, we are planning on keeping him rear facing until the max weight it states cant think what it is off the top of my head.

Oh ok, cool - Cooper is only 68cm, so maybe it will be ok.

From what I understand the Evenflo Tributes were the latest seats given out. Is that what you have? Even though he is at the second to top shoulder slots he may be there for quite sometime like Sarahs wee boy Floyd. Remember babies can grow more in the legs than the torso and vice-versa.

We have a Cosco Scenera (similar kind of convertible seat with same RFing weight limit (15.8kgs) and when we put her in it at 5mths (about 68cms and 8kgs) she was on the 2nd to top shoulder slot and at 13mths she is still there. (about 78cm and 11.5kgs)

Depending on how long you want to keep your baby RFing you may want to look at saving for a seat with a higher RFing limit.

The extended RFing thread is http://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=32820&PN=1 - here It's in the News Forum. Lots of info on extended RFing seats

It's 15.8kg for rear facing.

Dan's in it - he's over 85cm and about 13kg (and 21 months) and I anticipate he'll still be in it RF at 2. He's still on the 2nd to top straps. I'd say you have a while ahead of you before you need to change.

Cool, just realised that RF the straps are meant to be at or below their shoulders whereas FF is at or above - I'd only read the FF part by accident. That's great if Dan is still RF I hope Cooper will be able to till 2 as well.

Thanks for the link!
