Do I need a new one? Mine has a fit and disconnects when I am downloading anything but also just does it when the net is doing nothing. I tried to download avast this morning 3 times and the silly thing just kept giving up on me. It is 4 or 5 years old and has been pulled down by kiddies a few times but generally is on top of the fridge untouched unless it disconnects when it has a few to much data coming through when I am downloading things which it doesn't do very often until the last couple of days. I haven't been downloading as utorrent has been a bit funny for me but now I am wondering if it is all modem related.

Thanks for any answers given

thanks Bamn... I tell ya it has been a bad day! I have a new modem which is working at the mo but now no phone plugged in so yeah. Have to figure it all out but it's working and I am happy although I have no answers as to why it wasn't apart from the fact the vodafone guy told me I was lucky my wireless was working with my phone on.

yeah we have never had any issues I love vodafone. the guy I spoke to was awesome. I think we are all sorted. I do have a filter. I think I am going to go get a new one though just so I rule that out too and a new cordless. One that is 1.8ghz or 5.something. So silly really. Thanks again been a huge help I so don't wanna be without my net as some days while DH is away it's the only conversation I get

Why were you told that you couldn't have the phone on with wireless?

I have the vodafone modem and we have a cordless, it's better then the corded phone in mum and dads room. I have also had just a normal dlink modem and a netgear router and was able to use the cordless.

mine interupts sometime, like my phone wont get dial tone right next to computer...its coz your phone will probably be 2.4ghz which is th same frequency as the router....at least thats our issue but not buying new stuff for a problem thats fixed by walking two steps to the left haha

you got it Bamn its cos they use the same frequency. We were told not to have it plugged in with sky when we had that so I am guessing that would be the same. I have plugged in our old faithful corded phone until I get a new cordless.

re the cordless phone interference...
some of them have two ranges. 1.8mHz or 2.4mHz so you can change it somehow if it is interfering
