Funny question, but I'm just wondering how much bigger your "waist" is as I feel heaps bigger this (third) time around! But kinda for fun...
I'm 4 months preg and have an extra 28cm around my tummy.

I still fit my pre preggy pants i just can't do them up because of the big lump in my tummy . So far i have put on about 7kgs and i have only put it on in my tummy the rest of me (except my boobs) seems to be the same size.

I've pretty much only grown a tummy (and gianter boobs) but I have nooo idea what my measurements were/are. I do know that I have put on 16kg since the start, but haven't put on any in the last month (not from lack of eating either!)

I've only measured my waist once, and that was at 31 weeks - 100cm... I thought that was a nice round number to match the round belly!  I have no idea what my waist measurement was before pregnancy, but so far there's an extra 6kg of me.   I think 3kg of that is thanks to Whittakers being on special!!!

I think I probably only know how big I was before, because when I got pregnant I had two false negatives and my Doc told me I must be having a break from ovulating - so I went out and bought some nice snug jeans and fitted them for three weeks

But I probably should say, for those of you who are feeling lots bigger, that so far in my pregnancy I have lost 4kg then gained 5kg... so hopefully that picks up soon.

Have my scan this afternoon! I'm actually nervous and this is my third babe LOL

I am not sure about my measurements pre pregnancy either. I am too scared to jump on the scales! Last time I checked which was probably around 1 month ago I had put on around 8-10 kgs but I don't think it has changed that much since. My weight gain has mostly been on my tummy plus my thighs and butt - I seriously need to do lots of power walking after baby is born but I am not going to worry about it at this stage

Frantic, at the moment my midwife is regularly checking what I'm eating etc etc so I'd say you've got it better off!

I've had my scan now and I'm only 16 1/2 weeks so that probably accounts for less weight gain. The upside is that we have to go back again at 20 weeks LOL because the heart is too small to have a good look at.... I'm pleased about that because Baby is sitting right down so maybe we can find out what it is next time

I put on heaps with my first (good ole anderson mince pies twice a day) with duaghter I put on around 18 kgs but needed it and was back to 65kgs day after I had her. This one i lost about 3 kgs and now have put on 3kgs since pre pregnancy weight. I have only put on around tummy (which I reckon I am huge) My midwife measures around my tummy each visit and last week I was 98cm. Looked in a baby diary I kept with baby no 2 - Brooke - and I was only 97cm at 35 weeks so I now know I was much bigger (although pre pregnancy weigh I was about 10 kgs heavier this time around as well)

Im very glad we dont own scales! Last time I checked my weight a few weeks back I had put on 10kgs. But according to some book I read, Im pretty sure it said about 500gm a week at the moment gain is normal so probably is a lot more than 10 kg now!

Yay mummy becks!, we both got married on the best day!Hee hee! Feels like ages ago already! Prob cos weve had preggy brain since then!

AnnC I have been wondering if that is why I feel bigger this time too. I lost a lot of weight just before #2 but "found" it again after her, plus a bit extra. So at conception with this one I had +8kg and that's probably the only reason it feels bigger

Glad the scan went well...

After the 20 week scan, are you going to tell people whether you've seen a hotdog or hamburger (ah, I still smile at that phrase - thanks whoever made it up!) or keep it to yourselves?  I'll know whether or not I can grill you about it in a few weeks if you're happy to tell, y'see!  I hope you're not worrying about feeling bigger this time round - you look great and you're eating so well (for your spesh lightweight circumstances!)!

ah yeah I mean I accept it needs to happen - if it gets me a healthy little girl at the end of the day then bring on the large butt I say, but I do have my days when I cringe if I catch a glance of myself in the mirror...!

I think the "acceptable" *snort* weight gain varies depending on what you read/who you talk to etc....but yeah I've read up to 15kg is still healthy...that said I've stacked on another kg over the last 2 days. Maybe I shouldn't have had all that pizza last night but it was the inlaws shout!

Ahhh,..found what I was looking for! In the Littlies Pregnancy Guide mag it has a guide to recommended weight gain depending on pre-preg BMI.
Low ( BMI less than 19.8)-     12.5-18kgs
Normal (BMI 19.8 to 26 ) -     11.5- 16kg
High (BMI 26-29)-               7.0-11.5kg

My BMI was 20.8 so I take that as meaning up to 18 kgs is ok! Hmmm,..what shall I have for afternoon tea?!

I ignore what my pre-preg BMI was... some nasty BMI-measuring machine at an airport (OK I was really bored waiting for my flight once!) told me bad, bad things and since then I've decided to avoid such evil machines!  I'm not too much into the guidelines and recommendations for how much weight we 'should' be putting on... it just puts unnecessary pressure on us.  My MIL is tiny after 8 babies, and she rekons she put on about 20kg with each pregnancy!!  Not an ounce of fat on the woman now.  In my side of the family, we start off 'stockier' and put on a little less, but seem to like to keep it!

oohh Paws have you tried the milo cereal bars? I ate a whole box in a sitting they were the best thing I have ever tasted. Since then I have decided that they are too dangerous to buy by the box so I just get the odd one at teh gas station - oooohhh heaven in a wrapper they are....!

ummmm milo cereal bars!!! I've given myself a new rule now - gotta eat all my healthy food first before I eat any yummies. Not sure if thats good or not as I just end up eating more! I am building up my energy supplies for the birth, because they say that you don't want to eat and if its a long labour thats a long time without food...... thats my theory anyway and I'm sticking with it!
