Our cats are driving us mad and I am not sure what to do. We got Polly not long after we bought our house about 8yrs ago, she is a wild cat that Dad found at work as a kitten. She is a good little cat I think but not really a 'sit on your lap type of cat'. Billy we must have gotten about 6yrs ago from the SPCA. I found that when we got Polly she made the house feel more like a home.

However I suppose they have taken more and more of a backseat since the kids were born, and they just seem to p*ss DH off all the time, not that they really doing anything to annoy him but they 'just do'. And now we have just found Billy's 3rd cat fight wound in what must be 6mths or less. I think he fights with the cat next door. The lovely vet gave us an extra lot of ABs last time so hopefully we have cought it in time and he won't cost us hundreds of $$ this time.

I just don't know what to do. I would love to give them away, I sometimes wonder if they would be happier somewhere else but then that seems really mean and selfish to 'get rid' of them

Is Billy neutered?
Why don't you want them? Do you know anyone who would take them?

I love my cat and she's as much a part of our family as our baby to be is, I couldn't bear to part with her.

Yeah he was neutered when we got him from the SPCA. Apparently it is to do with his age and establishing a sort of pecking order with the cat next door.

It is hard to describe exactly how I feel, it's not that I don't want them its just that they seem to be so hard lately. They aren't overly affectinate cats which isn't too bad but soemtimes they seem like boarders who just come to eat then p*ss off. Plus they seem to annoy DH for some reason, he can't seem to explain why. And then on top of that the fights Billy gets into.

We don't know anyone who would take them, SIL who has always loved cats and they have 3 said she is feeling a little similar about their cats since my niece was born a year ago. Mum and Dad have cats already and my other brother is mildly allergic so he wouldn't take them

I don't know if I could give them away but I feel guilty for wishing that I could sometimes

OMG ! I have 6 cats and since baby has arrived I just find them really annoying, most of my time is taken up with baby so their clingyness bugs me. (I don't ignore them, there is 6 people in the house also so they get plenty of attention)

I have noticed the boy cats fighting one another a lot more since bubs came, even though they are neutered. The girl cats are the 'clingy' ones

Even though they annoy me I wouldn't want to get rid of them as they are part of the family!

ETA: Don't feel guilty!!
