Bingo is due 7 Jan and I have been lurking in the December section for a while too chicken to start a January one, so I will join in now.
I have to get my a*** into gear and book my scan sometime in the next week or so, life just keeps getting in the way at the moment and pregnant brain keeps striking so I completely forget each day that there was something i was meant to do
bingo has been moving around for a week or two now but I thought I could feel him as early as 13 weeks at my last scan but was told not to be silly it was only wind!!! But it feels exactly the same now just more definite so i stand by my instincts.
sorry to hear your set back Busymum, I am on a tight shedule as my parents go back to the UK on 21st jan so a setback like that will be a disaster!! They are here for 3 months so not sure they will want to extend if I don't come up with the goods on time!!

Hi there, have just discovered this site. I normally frequent the everybody.co.nz site andchat with other MTB Jan ladies there but will prob pop in here from time to time after finding this.
I am due on 10th Jan 2007 after 2 harrowing IVF with ICSI experiences. Thrilled to finally be pregnant... nearly half way there even (1 more week til the 20 mark!)

LOL that ticker is hilarious Sarah! Anyone had their 20 week scan yet? I tried to, that's when I found out I was only 17 weeks lol, but Baby was sitting too far down to see so I'm glad for the second chance

I'll be 19 weeks on Monday, and have my midwife appointment then, so the countdown begins again Although this time I'm a little distracted as we are making final plans towards moving house this year ie before Baby comes.... busy busy!

Right sorted out my memory and remembered to book my scan for 4 th sep which will make me 22 weeks. So i guess we are on count down for that too. After being adamant that we want to find out the sex, Neil is now wavering and wants to know pros and cons.
Is any one else having trouble with back ache yet, any suggestions to help I can't face the thought of another 20 weeks like this and I know I have a long way to go yet. I am trying a Swiss ball for desk work, but it is at night I g=find it worst

Cherie, hope you keep well for the rest of the pregnancy! Your body has enough work to do

Bedrock - have you tried making a nest of pillows? Sorry that's about all I can suggest, or maybe soaking in a bath before bed?

*lurk* Redbedrock - you could try a heat pack for your back at night - like a wheat bag. I've been using the elastoplast heat pads and they're great. They stay warm for eight hours so they last the night. A belly bra could also give you support during the day? If you have a desk related job, get on to your companies OSH person to have an assessment done as well - they can ensure that your workstation is suitable and give everyone the heads up on being nice to your back. Good luck!

Thanks Maree
My work is a mixture of driving a desk and clinical work, I am a nurse, I am sure the back pain is from changing posture and my centre of gravity shifting, but Neil is already complaining about how much bed I take up at night with all my extra pillows etc, so I am a bit nervous about what is going to happen from here as this will only get worse. I am seeing my personal trainer about exercises to support my abdomen too, but I hadn;t thought about a belly bra so early on, I might look into that over the weekeknd. Thanks, will stop whinging now, thank you for ideas from everyone

Hi Redbedrock,

I know what you mean re back pain. I have had back pain on/off now for the last couple of months. I got a referral from my midwive to see physios for my back pain so hopefully that will be some relief. The other thing I could suggest is using heat pack when you are sitting at your desk and perhaps yoga classes too? I hope you get some relief soon

Hi Redbedrock,
Flu all gone thank goodness, last week was a good week felt good no morning sickness, not to exhusted, we will see about this week :), I can't stop buying baby clothes the new JK book come out so I was in there yesterday my partner said no more clothes, but I really can't help myself anyone else like this with first baby???

We are being very strict about not buying too much although I do keep getting distracted on our shopping trips when we are meant to be looking at buggys and carseats by looking at soft toys and pretty sleepsuits. This is also our first and I want everything and the best and the prettiest. Doesn't always fit the budget and the sensible advice we have been given. But my mum is buying up mother care in England, I am sure she thinks there are no baby products in NZ

Happy new week to us all, you are right cherie, time is moving so fast now, I remember thinking 10 weeks would never come and that seems only 5 minutes ago. Yep definitely growing in all the right places (and some of the wrong ones too) I may be able to wear my Pumpkin Patch jeans without pulling them up all the time if I carry on this way, I have seen a few people doing the pumpkin patch wiggle trying to stop them falling all the way down, so it must be the design and not my shape

Hi Guys
Happy Monday again.
I have my scan this afternoon, and feeling alittle nervous about it now, I had not thought about it up until last night when Neil told someone that we may not be up to baby sitting for them if the scan wasn't great and up until then a negaitve report hadn't been an option in my mind. I know it is paranoia and anxiety and Bingo is doing al the right things like moving and wriggling lots and I am growing by the minute and feeling progressively pregnant, including feeling overly sensitive to anything any one says, but thought I would get my thoughts out there for the day and celebrate the health and development of my child with you later today.
Hope we are all good and feeling lots of tickles and wiggle down there

Hi there
Good luck this afternoon Claire with your scan, I was very nervous as well as I hadn't even felt the baby move before scan, but when you see baby on the screen its unbelievable, Males ah they just seem to understand sometimes and other times they just don't, When I had morning sickness at night, everynight, Michael said "that new toilet taking a hammering" and then when I was a wee bit emotional one night he said " theres no need to cry cause you've been sick" they just don't understand sometimes and they speak before they think!!!!
take care everyone, Cherie

Yes, Neil is very good and has been lovely, he booked me a facial for my 20 week mark which was lovely and i have had more flowersin the last few months than in the 10 years we have been together, but your right just sometimes and usually at the most improtant times I could easily slap him. But i wouldn't change him for the world

Oh Claire I'm so glad everything went well. At my first scan (this pregnancy) I was really nervous too, my biggest concern was that there would be two littlies in there (4 under 3? No thank you!)

So my scan is tomorrow and I'm pretty excited about that. But I've been really sick today sandpaper throat and headache and all that. I went to bed last night at 7.30pm and slept right through to 5am Then at 8am this morning went back to bed for another hour and a half! Hope that means it'll go away soon

Anyways, hopefully I'll be posting good news tomorrow evening

Good luck tomorrow, surprised how anxious I was really, but Bingo had two of every thing except the things it should have 4 of. good luck with tomorrow, and hope you are feeling better soon, I have just got over another cold and it's miserable. I never get colds normally.

I felt Bingo move with my hand last night, but couldn't get him/her to do it again for Neil. that was exciting

Glad it's good news busymum, I'm actually glad that they couldn't tell the gender as it's exciting having a surprise. So back again in another month for you, that's kind of exciting too having another sneak peek, but a bit of a pain. But at least there was only one, don't know how that would be with no other children but with 2 littlies already you would have had your work cut out

We are sticking with neutral colours but we could see no evidence of little boy bits so I am guessing it will be a girl, but not keen on pink anyway so will stick to neutral. It's quite good really as we cannot agree on any boys name and if we do we can't agree on spelling so maybe a girl would be easier

Hi everyone
Yes I have had to hit the maternity wear now as I just can't stretch my normal clothes out anymore, I was reduced to one pair of trousers and and PP jeans which I have talked about before.
I started taking elevit last week as I was just tremendously tired all the time again, almost as bad as the early weeks, not sure if it's puschological cos after taking three days worth I feel much better, they can't work that quickly can they? I laugh at my patients when they say these things to me.
Antenatal appointment last night was cool and everything is happily normal.
Has anyone else started having what I think are Braxton Hicks yet, midwife thought they could well be but that it was alittle early, I get a very uncomfortable tight feeling accross my lower abdomen which last for about a minute. We wondered about a UTI, but I have no other symptoms and specimens are all clear. Just wondered though

Take care, almost the weekend yipeeeeeeeeeeeee

Well I'm definitely in maternity trousers now, which is nice because they are so much more comfy!

I have been sick recently (bug) so was taking Vit C & Iron cause I'm sure anything helps! Keeping up the Iron, I don't think I need it yet or that it's doing much, but I have been sooooo tired (like falling asleep at 8.30am ) and I feel bad cause my 2 year old is left to her own devices for an hour and a half while me and 1 yr old sleep. So I'm glad you mentioned tiredness Claire because I've been thinking "what is going on? I'm in my 2nd trimester" etc

Braxton Hicks, I started getting them at 19 weeks, only get them once in a while but with my 1st I got them consistently from week 20. Wait til you're a bit further on and they come on at the funniest times, esp just after "a lil' bit o' lovin'" (trying to not be too candid there lol)

Hope ya'll are having a good weekend, my DH has gone away so I'm hanging out for tomorrow!!

-------------

I am definitely enjoying the maternity trouser thing, after years of wearing hipsters i love having the over the bump thing going on and keeping my back warm. I might just stick to big trousers after this is all over.
It's funny what you say about Braxton hicks cos it was after an intimate moment that I first noticed it, scared Neil to death he thought he had broken me or bingo somehow. Easily scared he is.
I do feel better this week, not so tired, but I think clearing my social calandar til the weekend and going to bed at 8.30 has something to do with that. I thought 2nd trimester was the lots of energy phase, that seems to have passsed me by

So Happy Monday again, it seems to roll around so quickly at the moment Hope we are all doing well

Hi there all
I get period pains/cramps for about 1 min every so often so I wonders if that is Braxton hicks???
I had a very sore belly yesterday,I took malanta, panadol I think it was a bit of stretching going on cause last did Gidgee move for the first time I belly was moving and Michael was watching to, it brought a tear to my eye (wee bit emotional)
My job where I have been for the past 5 years and managed for 1 year is shutting it doors on 6 October so I have no job I was going on leave at the end of November so it a stressful time winding thing up and organising the sale, the only downside to it all is no matnerity pay.

Well enough of my life story, hope you are all well, and I still can't get over how time is flying by.

Take care Cherie

Oh Cherie, that's really sad about maternity pay. Will you go for another job between October and January? I guess there's not much around over those times that are pregnancy-friendly.

When you have BH, poke your tummy and it will feel really hard - then you'll know for sure.

Take care, I worked at an office which was closing down and there always feels like so much to do. And of course with your little one growing and stretching... a busy month ahead!

Hi there busymum
I have decided not to look for another job, I have alot of things to do, Michael thinks he got a list for me "yeah right" I am looking forward to finishing I keep putting things off until I finish like the baby room and decluttering.
Just in the last 3 days Gidgee certainley is getting active, and my tummy does go hard, being pregnant is like learning to drive I have to keep refering to the books like on Saturday I was eating cashew nut, I thought am I mean't be be eating these?? so out come the book

hi guys

Cherie, sorry to hear about your job, i know that's never a good thing, especially the leave and mat pay, but I wish..... i have no interest whatsoever at the moment and I thought I had the best job in the world. funny how priorities change.
I certainly can relate to the reading, I am tired, the book says I might be iron deficient so I will take iron tablets, etc, does the paranoia and doubt go away when the baby is out, Busymum or do I resign myself to this for the next 18 years. do you have a new date for your scan yet?

Claire

Oh Cherie, I know what you mean about getting the books out! I'm like that all the time, only at the moment I have all my books packed in wait for moving day (3 more weeks) so I've been reading the week by week thing on OhBaby lol. Hopefully you'll be nesting about the time you leave work (or preferably just after) but don't get it all done too quickly or you'll get bored!

Claire, I had the same thing with a full time job that I used to love and then I got pregnant and it was "just a job" while I waited to be a mummy. Pretty cool though.

I had a hard day yesterday, dizziness and tiredness etc, m/w says it sounds a bit like iron deficiency. Stepped up the iron tablets I've just started taking and now I'm feeling much better already (still tired though, but just not sick). Hopefully it's a growth spurt, I'd still like a bit more energy yet!

As for paranoia.... sorry! Then you wonder why the baby's crying, and if it really was the right time for bed, if it's unwell, blah blah blah, at the moment we are thinking ahead to when our eldest turns 3 and how/when we are going to work out pocket money! But I am a lot more confident than I used to be. But it's just a good thing that OhBaby isn't limited to pregnant mums

Have a nice rest of the week everyone!

How are you ladies? I've just realised that I've got into the habit of starting posts with "Oh Cherie" so I'm not doing that this time :D lol

It's been a long week. I've been so tired and sleeping twice a day + nights, I think I've finally sorted out some kind of routine. But my tummy is much bigger than 2 weeks ago and I've put on 2kg since Monday! So here's hoping the growth spurt will finish soon :) Claire, how's your tiredness?

Tiredness is getting better, I walked to and from work twice this week which just has not been possible recenly, it's only just over 1km but work is at the bottom of a Wellington hill so it's a bit of an acheivement getting home after a day at work. Nice that the weather has helped my motivation there. I put some of it down to the iron in the supplement, along with all the other vitamins in it too. and generally eating better too, took a long look at my diet and realised I was eating a lot of comfort food, mainly sugar carbs, so i have changed that and I do feel I have more energy.
Getting bigger and bigger at the moment, definite growth spurt happening and movements are becoming identifiable as hands, feet and bum.
counting down, i have 2 more weeks at work, then a week's holiday, then I am starting to cut my hours, I have a bit of leave accumulated so will be using that up, can't wait!!
Hope everyone is good another week about to start, it always seems to be Monday just lately

Claire I just realised that you're a week ahead of me and most of what you posted on the 24th is now true for me! Our family got "the bug" this week so that hasn't helped but now that I'm over it, I'm feeling a lot more energetic.

And definitely feeling those pokes! Yesterday my 2 1/2 year old was cuddling on my tummy but she poked her elbow into Baby's space - and was prodded in return lol. Was nice to let her feel it though

I bet you're looking forward to your week off. Cherie, 1 week left for your work. How's it going? And what's your due date?

oh dear I am so in trouble today.

I took a leave day as I had another cold last week and had been real tired. We are house and dog sitting this week and it has been a bit of a saga (it has not been the easy task we thoouht it would be, the dog is only 5 months old and is missing mum and dad who are in Fiji until thursday we are not having a dog any point in the future any more). Anyway to cut a long story short, I went shopping in Porirua and sat down at 4 for a coffee, took out my cell phone which amazingly had credit and charge on the battery, anyway there were 8 (yes 8) missed called all from Neil, when I rang him he was beside himself with worry and completely stressed out as he could not get hold of me. He had called my work colleagues, tried to get me on my on-call phone which was switched off as I was not on-call today and rang most of my friends, was almost on the point of getting a cab to the house as he thought the house had been burgled (it was recently) and I was hurt. I was having a nice day sorting out his birthday present, and last minute things for our holiday in Oz next week, completely oblivious to all of this panic. So now I feel real bad, and he feels bad and I have to spend the evening calling my friends to let them know I have not been kidnapped or run over. I think he is feeling very protective at the moment as we both normally are very independent of each other and know vaguely what we are up to each day but it's no biggy if I don't answer the phone.
I think I will cook his favourite tonight.

Thanks for letting me get that off my chest

Hope we are all well

Claire

Blah another growth spurt week I think. But happy 6 months to us all! I can't believe it has come around so fast. I have a wedding dance invite in a couple of weeks, I told DH it will be like dancing with a mini hula hoop lol - I think I'll just be chatting In the meantime, I have the great dilemna of finding something other than nice pants and top for the wedding! You just have to wear a dress/skirt for a wedding dance lol

My boobs had a huge growth spurt last week, I am fast resembling Jordan I think, long gone are my nice handfuls, now I have watermelons attached to me and I'm told they will only get bigger when i nurse!!!!
Other than the dramas of yesterday I am having a good week.
Good luck with the clothes dilemma, Teresa, I am framtically trying to wash everything I wear this week to pack for Saturday, not used to my work and home clothes being the same, aaaahhhh poor me, always seem so sorry for myself just lately.
yep 6 months feels like a mighty milestone, it's kind of nice to say that, sounds grown up really, which is a ridiculous thing to say when I am nearly 37, I know.
Three more dys to go until my holiday, tell me off if I mention it too many times but we need this break so much, it's been a long time coming, I feel like I am 10 years old I'm so excited
Take care

Claire we too are counting down... 9 more days before we move house! And I know what it's like to so desperately hang out for a holiday. When your milk first comes in (day 3) you will get much bigger but then after a couple of weeks you will probably be feeding from the size you are now. You can buy maternity bras at 6-8 mos but only buy 2 or 3 in case you do change size (not very likely).

I went to a preggy friend's house today and found a nice skirt!!! Yay!!! It doesn't even make me look huge I feel so much better about going to the wedding now.

6 months... it feels like we're on the downhill now, although it's still a long wait. And it's my third time here I think we might be in for a hot summer though

Glad you got your clothing crisis sorted out, it is getting to be a mission at the moment, I guess I have to get used to wearing the same outfit more than once, it's a luxury we won't have when I stop work.
I am spending the day pretending to work, excited about my holiday and a firend who is coming round tonight, she had her first cycle of IVF a couple of weeks ago and had the results of her first bloods today, she said she would tell me the news tonight either way, I am so excited for her.
I shall wish every one a happy week, next week, hope the preparations for the move go smoothly Teresa, and Cherie you must be finished work now, I hope the transition went smoothly. I shall catch up when I get back in a weeks time.
It's exciting, Bingos first trip overseas, do you think he needs a visa?????

catch up soon

Helloooo

well we made it back from very hot Sydney alive and avery happty that it was only 14 degrees in welly!!! I will never complain about the weather here again, I am so glad we moved to wellington and not australia when we moved from the UK. Other than that we had a great holiday, walked and walked and walked, met up with firends and generally relaxed. It was nice to spend time together alone as well, with my folks coming out in a few weeks time, we will get precious little alone time now until Bingo arrives.
How are things with every one? I seem to have been hit with some of that energy you are supposed to get mid pregnancy, just as we head into the hardest part, hope it lasts, I have a midwife appointment tomorrow night, so hope all is good for that.
Other than that no news this end, I am on reduced hours from this week, yeh 4 day week.

Take care

Yes! We are having a Krystiana Elise It's quite exciting knowing this early, the other two were surprises. Somehow she just seems a bit more real with a name and a gender.

I'm glad you have a lot of energy, sadly I can't claim the same. I'm hoping it's because we've just moved house etc etc but somehow I doubt that. <sigh> We really have entered the busy season, we have a wedding out of town this weekend (so staying at a motel overnight) and then house-warming on the Monday night. I get my bloods done on Friday so I'm hoping they will say my iron is reeeaally low and I have to up my dose - then I'll have a reason for all this tiredness! lol

I'm glad you're on less hours now, I'm sure you'll enjoy the freedom! Fortnightly m/w visits now too?

Hi Teresa, we seem to be very thin on the ground for January don't we? If we both go to our dates, then Jan will be a very quick month.
Nothing to tell really, m/w appointment went well, boringly normal, we agreed to stick to one more monthly appointment as everything is normal and she knows I will call her if I have problems. I can check my BP and wees at work if I need to. Need to organise bloods, we opted for the glucose challenge as Neil is diabetic, I am confident that this will be of no concern as I have no symptons and we are both growing at the normal rate.
I must say I like these four day weeks, don't know why I didn't think of this a long time ago, I have missed out on so much.

I just did my glucose and bloods on Friday - what's with me beating you to the 28 week bloods?! Not expecting any probs, just might as well rule out GD while we're doing bloods already.

The move went well and we had a housewarming last night Now back to real life... I think I'm going to officially start counting down soon, I'm not feeling big and heavy yet but I sure am feeling tired

Do you know Cherie personally? I was wondering how she was.

No, I don't know Cherie, I was wondering the same thing. I had my bloods done this morning, finally, I am just super slack at getting my a into gear and do these things, never guess I work at a hospital would you, they say nurses and doctors make the worse patients.

Glad the move went well though.
I discovered the cure for stopping Bingo wriggling into my liver all the time, I misjudged my girth and walked into a window sill quite hard yesterday, Bingo wiggled (obviously didn't like it) and has not had her bum in my liver ever since. I slept much better last night. The pattern of movements have changed and I can feel her much more down my left side today which is completely different.

Hope she's not bruised on her bum though.

Sorry to hear you are still feeling so tired though, I am tired today but I think I didn't sleep due to stormy weather rather than being pregnant

Feeling a lot better today, my 1yo has been changing her sleep schedule and I think I have almost adjusted.

lol about baby moving for ya Claire, actually being on the left side is really good. Mine is still changing from side to side but at least I know she can get in the right place!

Yay for fortnightly visits, makes you feel "almost there"!

Welcome back Cherie, we was getting worried. glad to hear things are going well
I am in for the Christmas day birth too, we have a tradition of swimming on Xmas day wherever we are, even winter in the UK, so I am hoping if I stay in the Cook Strait long enough this year, the contractions will start. I think I need to talk about this theory to my midwife, not sure what she is planning for Xmas. My other theory is not to do pelvic floor exercises, so that everything is loose enough that a good cough some time in late December and Bingo will just fall out. I might have to face reality at some point do you think?
We start antenatal classes on Monday

Yay I seem to be doing a lot better with the exhaustion in the last couple of days. It seems it was food-related, just like I had in my first trimester. Eat more and don't worry so much about sleeping = a much more energetic and happy me! Oh I feel so much better about Baby coming now... (which is good, since I have 11 weeks to go!)

That's great Teresa, I was the same a few weeks ago, i just made a few changes to diet and lifestyle, ie going to bed when I was tired rather than when ER had finished, and I seemed to hit that happy medium. glad to hear you are feeling better.
My glusocse challenge results were a little high, only just out of the limit, so I need to have a full GTT next week, oh yay. I am hoping it is a bit of a glitch, i have no other symptons, Bingo is slightly big, but we are not small people,(neil is 6'5 and I am 5'11) but other than that everything is normal. keep you updated on that one
I just realised I am 30 weeks today (I should pay more attention to this really). which means in ten weeks time.......

Hmm, I am sort of thinking I should catch up on all those sweet goodies now before they tell me to cut them out of my diet and watch my carb intake. I am a real sweet tooth so it's going to be hard. But as i say hopefully it is a glitch and the next test will be OK. the next set is when you fast overnight, have a fasting glucose, then drink the carb drink and test again after2 hours, I think that's how they do it here, so I will definitely take a book this time. I use Neil's test kit at home and so far I don't think they are outrageous, but not used to pregnancy levels

Hi Ladies

I got my blood test back very low iron, so started taking iron pills,

I have a couple of scares over the last few days on Saturday night I was having a wee rest and I past some wind and what do you know the matress had a wet patch so rang the m/w she said not worry just baby pushing on my bladder, and then this morning felt a bit wet checked and a large piece of discharge not normal in colour so rang the m/w she said it common as long as no pains or itchy

Now I have decided it very scary being pregnant especially with your first one,

So thats about it for me, Take care Cherie

oo Cherie that DOES sound scary.

I've had my share of scares this week too Maybe the third trimester gets it started off? Horrible pains in my abdo on Monday, they have eased off to on/off period cramp feeling over the last couple of days. On Monday I did a wee sample which showed a trace of blood - never had that before - so it's at the Lab until hopefully I hear back tomorrow. Sounds like it might be Uterine Tract Infection, which I'm then told can bring on labour and/or be a sign of pre-eclamsia!!

Still a bit sore today, can't tell whether it is me on my feet too much, baby pushing down, or maybe an infection... can't wait to hear back from m/w tomorrow. Claire my glucose test just came back all fine (yay), hope yours settles too.

Funny all of us about 30 weeks but I dunno, it doesn't feel "soon" yet?

I don't know, I have had a huge dose of reality this week with my first antenatal class and a hospital tour, so yep at some point in the next ten weeks or so this baby is coming out through that little hole!!!!!! I think I am starting to accept that now. Any time in the next ten years feels soon!!!!
Sorry to hear you have both had scares and worries in the past week, hope things are settling down for both of you. I will do my next glucose test next week, (must ring and book that when I finish on here) but feel confident that it was just a glitch with the first one.
I am having a moody week this week, just so p****ed off with everyone and everything, so don't look at me funny or else, poor old neil got it both barrels last night and all he said was what are we having for tea, he meant he was going to cook, but I took it the wrong way

Hopefully I will find my happy place again soon

I didn't have UTI at all, I put it in a separate post. Seems the pain was caused by old scar tissue (from previous c/s 3 yrs ago) stretching, and the blood was an insignificant amount.

We have just saved ourselves $20, we bought a cot and mattress off a friend, she originally said she had a new mattress protector we could have but the mattress just came wrapped in two layers of heavy duty plastic, so we thought we would buy one of those Dr Spock (or Sprott or something) ones that everyone keeps telling us about. Neil ordered one off a website last night, but today on investigation we discovered that the second layer of plastic was in fact a Dr Spock mattress protector, can't wait for Mum to arrive I think we need the help of a sensible adult for the next couple of months.

Not sure Milo will cut it in finding my happy place, but it might be double shot long black, and I will have the most hyperactive baby but at least mummy will be chilled out and not swearing under her breath at everything anyone says or does anymore.
Only 9 weeks to go today

Ahhh the bliss of counting down now! 10 weeks for me... or I can say that I'm 7mos as of next weekend.

I live in Palmy Nth. I think part of my warmth discomfort is that we have just moved to a place which gets all-day sun. It's beautiful for the moment but in summer, the curtains and windows will be shut and open respectively! Ummm yea the people who built it didn't even think to instal a heater, that's how warm it is.

Went to JK today to check out what shorts/short skirts they have available: only two options! grrr the *joys* of living outside of Auckland. Well at least I know what size I am now and can hunt on TradeMe (cheaper anyway )

What did we do before Trade Me?
Another cold wet and windy day in Welly today, but I know what you mean about hot houses.
I am tired this week, but I am not sleeping properly as my brain seems to have forgotten that I am pregnant and I keep waking up on my stomach with Bingo protesting wildly, I haven't tried to do that since I was first pregnant, before I had this big obstacle to stomach sleeping in the way. Mind you I read on another thread that someone is still managing to sleep on there stomach at a very late stage, I'd be interested in finding out who and how they manage it as I really struggle on my side
No 2 antenatal class tonight

I like stomach sleeping too, dunno why I guess it would look like I had crawled up the bed and then just flopped, cause I like one knee up, which kind of twists me a little I guess and allows more room in there. Also pillows are just awesome!!!

Before TradeMe... hmm... when I had Hannah it was Pumpkin Patch or sew-your-own. Fortunately I can get by with sewing but it's very time-consuming and not all that cost-effective. I just bought 3x 3/4 pants/capris online today for under $30 so I'm feeling very good about that

Ooo well done (tickers)!

I'm a bit advocate of hospital birth ... I wanted my first one there while I learned the ropes as such, and when I was mid-labour I started haemorraging for no apparent reason, lost a lot of blood, and had an emergency c/s. Who knows what would have happened if I had needed to be driven to the hospital in the middle of that.

In saying that, once I had #2 (by VB not c/s) I was back home within a few hours Something about your own bed...

yay I do not have gestational diabetes!!!!Bloods came back all normal, so back to the chocolate and ice cream then, ooh and licorice which is some thing I seem to fancy at the moment.
I read your birth story for Hannah it did highlight the sensible nature of a hospital birth. Neil's mum had a similar experience while having him at home 36 years ago and it has stayed in the family's memory, no one is really sure exactly when he was born as everything happened very quickly We live on the hill above the hospital, only 5 mins drive if the traffic lights are kind, so I plan to hang on at home for as long as possible and go home as soon as I can afterwards. I think it comes from spending 40 hours a week for the past 18 years in a hospital environment so I intend not to spend too much time there as a customer, I know what happens on a day to day basis.
How is the endless search for clothing going? My wrap around tops from Max are getting a bit indecent now even with a vest underneath, I have given a few old men pleasant memories the last week or so, not used to having DDs

ROFL!!! That's hilarious! I think I am maybe needing the next size up... again! Kinda hope not as this is the size I have been both other times so all my maty bras fit me if I don't go up.

So glad to hear about your GD test. My mum used to eat licorice by the boxfull while preg too... at least it will combat the iron tablets you're taking, I expect

My tops are fine but I was almost out of pants... I found someone on trademe selling brand new capris (3/4 pants) at $5 reserve... with no competition... got 2 for $11 plus postage in the mail today and I am one happy lady - except for the fact that it has been FREEZING cold today lol

Found out both girls have ear infections yesterday, ah that explains the behaviour and grizzling I've been trying to deal with all week at least I now know there will be an end and the younger one (Miss Misery-Gutts) is now getting medicine to help it clear up quicker.

Wow these weeks are rolling by so fast. Baby is definitely getting lower now, I'm constantly feeling her head in my pelvis. Not exactly comfy but nice to know she's in the right place.

how are hannah and briona now, hope they are feeling better and feeling happier. I have alot of admiration for you and other mums I know who are doing what I'm doing but with other children in tow. I only have to contend with work, well and extra on-call recently which is a pain, but at least I could finish in the next week or so if I wanted and just take care of me. I have a feeling Bingo may be an only child, which is a shame as we bought a pram with a doubles kit for down the line. I only seem to get my energy from licorace at the moment. Just mysteriously ate a whole bag. I'm sure someone snuck in and helped me, but I know neil has been out watching the Rugby so it wasn't him.
I am feeling a whole lot of movement really low in my pelvis just lately and my hips really ache, I feel about 90 some mornings when I get up. And a real squeeze on my bladder, I was getting a bit leaky when I laugh, cough or pick something up, so it's pelvic floor exercises all the way now. I was only joking about not doing them and letting Bingo fall out. I have a m/w appointment this week and antenatal classes tomorrow and Mum and dad arrive on Tuesday, so busy week but not on-c alll which will be the first weekend for about 3 weeks that I will be free

I'm just so glad I'm not trying to juggle kid(s) and pregnancy AND work (any more). I guess the hardest part is that my "work" starts just after 6am and goes until 7pm, with random breaks in between if it's a good day. But it generally works well and my only grumble is that I never get a "sick day" lol

I have a m/w appointment tomorrow as well, going to start talking birth plans. I guess fortunately for me, I already have a pretty good idea of what I'm wanting. BUt it sure makes the end seem far closer

My pc muscles seem to be okay, but guess what? My m/w wants me to start doing some perineum stretching. Ugh. The whole idea of it is so icky.... hmmm well but so is getting an episiotomy (like last time) and feeling those stitches for the first week and not even wanting any relations for 7+ weeks..... <sigh> lol

Hannah and Briona - Briona's great, it was so good after about 4 days to finally hear her laugh again. But Hannah is having trouble hearing us clearly, it is sooooo frustrating and we first had to rule out whether it was behavioural or attention-seeking. But after watching her very closely today, I'm convinced she's having trouble so.... back to the Docs tomorrow.

I read about perineal stretching, and laughed it off as a joke, but have heard more and more about it now, not sure about the bit of getting your partner to help if you can't reach, what with the burping, farting and incontinence I am not sure Neil will ever look at me the same again without getting him to help me with that.

Oh what a laugh! I think I am coming to the conclusion that if I do it religiously now and it doesn't work then I'll never ever have to do it again (or feel bad about it lol)

Hmmm I offered DH if he wanted to do it for me, doesn't sound all that exciting to either of us! CaraMel suggested doing it in the bath, sounds like the best idea so far.

As for your post.... I laughed right out loud! DH can't fathom all the exciting smells when I'm preggy either (he of boy-family who thought that girls never did "those" )

Yep, Neil is from an all boys family so he never really came accross girls that made noises and smells until we lived together and then it was too late to back out.

I think the bath might be the place as well that sounded like good advise.
