I know there are heaps of threads but I cant find what I am looking for...
I am pretty sure its just wee or CM but I have been leaking on and off for a few weeks anywhere from 1-3 teaspoons worth at a time.
I am not overly worried about it, as I said, its probably just wee, but how can you tell? I know there are "tips" to see if its wee/CM or waters I just cant remember LOL
I have let my mw know and am due to have my anat scan soon so we are just going to wait and see what that says unless I have a big gush or something.

I know mine had a smell but I can't remember what.
Is it like a little gush when you move positions?
It could be wee, seems like a bit much for CM...
Sorry probably not much help!

Yup I will be sitting and then stand up and then a little gush or last night I sat down on my bed and a little gush, then sat back up after lying down doing suduko (LOL) and another bigger gush...
Thats what I cant remember, if you have a slow leak does it just keep trickling regardless of whether you move or not or can it come out in just little gushes every now and then?
It is awfully weird if it is wee.. I pee so freaking often I am not sure how there could be anything left LOL But I am sure that is what it is.. doesnt smell like wee though....

When my waters broke/leaked, it wasn't constant trickling at first it was little gushes when I moved. I had my show at the same time so it was pinkish in colour. TMI on a pad it look kinda clear but yellow.

Mine was both, I think? Sometimes a gush when I moved, and often just a constant trickle. I had a hind waters leak at 37 weeks that lasted about 3 days, then another at 40+5 that went on and off until I went into labour at 41+2. Hopefully it'll just mean you need antibiotics, and perhaps to take it easy for a while, hun?

Mel apparently waters are ment to smell different from pee, so if you can smell it, and it doesnt smell like pee then I would say its your waters as I cant imagine CM doing that. Hopefully your scan shows you have nice big fluid levels. I know that they can replenish themselves if you do have a wee (hmm not pee, but small!) leak. Let us know how you get on!

Mel its been described as smelling like hay which i think is hilarious. its almost always pink too. when they thought i had leaking waters i was told to use a pad and check the colour after a while. id try that and let your MW know JIC

Yup mw knows and no more leaks since the night before last... its always clear. I have also heard it decribed to smell like hay... so I went and smelt the bag of hay for the rabbits... hmmm nope LOL
Peanut was your leak earlier in pg or later? Just curious as to what they actually do if you have leaks this early on?

Mel, mine didn't smell at all. First time it was clear, second time slightly yellowy cos there was light meconium staining. Gross I know, but if you have a wet pad, it may be worth taking that when you see MW. I had to get one out of the bin

My waters broke at 30 weeks, your midwife can test it in 10 secs with a dipstick test.
Not something to wait and worry about, it is something to find out what is going on and then deal with.
Edited to say that it is not just the loss of amniotic fluid around the baby that can be of concern, but also the risk of infection. Even if it is just pee, the maybe there is an underlying infection, definately time to get it taken seriously and checked out thoroughly. If your midwife is not concerned, but you still are, then head to your gp.

Mine was at 37 weeks and I was induced in the end as was close to term.
A friend of mine had an early leak around 22 weeks and was on bed rest for a week until levels were up and then she was allowed home. Her baby ended up being born at about 10 days over.
My waters were def not pink! They were clear.
Maya22, some MW don't use the stick to test for waters as they are quite unreliable and pick up amix of things. My MW used a stick as well as checking my pad etc to confirm it was waters leaking.
Mine leaked from the Tuesday thru until I had my boy on the Sat morning. I was given AB's when I arrived at the hosp on the Sat morning.
I started a thread on it.

At our AN class the MW said wear a pad then smell it........sorry if thats TMI but she said it has a "sweet" smell like the smell of a baby.
I had a fright just before 20 wks and it turned out it was probably wee. And another time I thought my waters had really broken but I had just more or less had a bath and once I had calmed down realised it was bath water

We think I had a small leak at 16.5 weeks - went to the loo and my undies were wet, had a smell and it definitely didn't smell like pee!
Ended up at A&E, cos my OBGYN was in surgery - they did an internal and checked for bubba's heartrate on their portable monitor and everything was fine. I was made to take a couple of days off work and take it easy for a few days.
Haven't had any issues since but my OBGYN did say that the good old maternity incontinence can sometimes happen without you noticing, and if you have been drinking quite a bit, your pee sometimes doesn't smell too strongly.
If I were you, I'd wear a pad to keep an eye on the levels/colour of fluid, and definitely speak to your midwife, better to be safe than sorry! Good luck!

melnel, yeah not that easy. She had a toddlet to so they admitted her to hospital to ensure it was def rest for the first 3 days she wasn't even allowed out of bed to go to the toilet.

How's it been today Mel?
Mine broke (a huge gush) at 31wks. I was put on bed rest in hospital and when I moved it felt like you're describing. Sometimes it was a lot (as in, felt like I'd wet the bed) but others it was much smaller, like the amounts you're talking.
Did you find my thread when you were searching? I'm sure I remember someone saying their friend's waters had broken early on and they'd ended up going almost to full term with no probs.
In my case, they wanted me on bed rest until C was delivered. The best case was full term (but as you know I only lasted a week) but I was having contractions as well. Without the contractions they seemed fairly confident that he'd be all right even if I kept leaking. They checked the fluid levels and they were pretty good - they do keep replenishing themselves

I have not had anything since friday night so I am convinced it was just pee.... You would think if I had a leak it would have had more over the past 3 1/2 days... I actually forgot all about it yesterday so didnt ring my mw.
Better do that today!

I once worked with a lady whose daughter was carrying twins, due to leaking waters from about 20 weeks, that obviuosly didnt replenish, they sadly passed away
I wouldnt muck around if it does come back Mel, like others have said its the risk of infection that would be of concern for me, even without a huge amount of water or contractions.
But anyway, you have done this preggy thing before, Im sure you know your own body very well by now, fx you have no more leaky bits for another 19 weeks or so
