lol just buy a pH test from the pet shop and use the same colors as the intelligender test uses.

I want to know if it works aswell.
Someone told me the PH tests only work accurately between 8-10 weeks. I dunno if its true  and im guessing there is lots of tests etc.

Ive got some pH strips and i did few pH tests early on prob between 6 and 12wks and they were always showing "boy" which meant my pH was reading around 8. Having my anatomy scan on Monday and will be finding out as long as bub co-operates so i will post back on Monday!!

I just realised I still have some ph strips somewhere when I was seeing if I had "hostile cm". When I find them I'll try it, i have 2-4weeks before I get my anatomy scan, will be interesting to see if it's right, will pop back in.

Hi guys, had the scan yesterday and yep its a boy!!
I peed on the pH paper before i got pregnant and it was neutral, (stayed yellow) but when i peed on it after i got pregnant (first morning urine) it was always blue/green which indicates boy apparently. Im not sure how correct it is but it worked for me. I think those gender test you buy work differently tho. |

So, boiled cabbage water is purple. And when I added my pee it stayed purple, was just lighter as diluted. So, apparently this means I am having a girl....would be interested to see if it turns red for anyone!

Well i did it and at first I though it was still purple but when i compared it to what was left over of cabbage water then it definately has a pinkish/reddish tinge to it.... So following my hunches... 20 or so weeks and we will know for sure! -------------

OK my curiosity is incureable. I haven't made a pH indicator with the cabbage as I had some paper lying around. I have alkaline pee so I should be having a girl. Thats what I've thought anyway, so only a few more weeks til I find out for sure!!! -------------

i just did the test and mine was mostly the same purple as the water with just a bit of pink but not much id still say it was definately plum purple lol and im supposed to be having a girl... sorry the pic is huge, will try again with FMU tomorrow and see if i can get a clear cup that DH will let me use haha

i did this test at about 6 weeks and it came up Boy. I had forgotten all about that till reading this. I have had a really gut feeling recently i am having a boy as well. Not finding out till the birth though . . . maybe someone more enterprising than me could construct a table of people's cabbage test results and how they have or will turn out ------------- |

Best to do with FMU, anything you eat/drink during the day can give the results a false alkaline/acidic reading... whereas with FMU you havent had anything to eat/drink for a long enough timeframe to not affect the pH so much. ------------- Brandon - 05/12/2003

Sabrina, I don't have any feelings one way or the other at the mo, but yes Chelsea says "BOOOOOOOOOOIIIII" whenever anyone asks her if the baby is a boy or girl so we'll see if she's right

I has forgotten about this lol.. yup as the table says, was right for me..
I think its a bit tricky though I stared and stared at mine trying to decide if it was purple or not LOL But after a while decided it was wishful thinking and was reddish with a purple tinge... Wonder how they came up with it??? Oh and I did it in the second trimester so doesnt need to be done in the first -------------

I've done the test twice, first time it was purple but looked like it maybe had a pink tinge to it so couldn't decide. This time definitely just purple, think the pink tinge first time maybe from looking under artificial light. So will see, I feel like I'm having another boy, but have been far sicker this time than with both boys so you never know could be a girl -------------

Hmmmm weird. 1st time the test was purple meaning girl, but i had just had a cup of tea so that may have affected it.
Did the test just now. Havent had a drink in ages and it was red no doubt about it. Im still think im having a boy so ill go with boy lol -------------

| I had a reb cabbage sitting in the fridge till it started to grow stuff...just never found the time to do it. must go and buy another AND use it. Seems pretty accurate. Did anyone try another method..like ring test? |

nzpiper yep I did the ring test both times, and it went in circles for DD and back and forth this time. Only problem was some websites said circles for girls, back and forth for boys, and others were the other way around!
Emmi, I think I read somewhere you need to be over 12wks for the cabbage test to work? Worth a try anyway though lol (and I could have made that up, couldn't say where I read that!) They don't seem to have red cabbages at my supermarket! I tried it with medical pH strips and got totally different results at different times of day. Acid = girl, alkaline = boy, right? First time got girl, the next 2 times got boy. Seems to depend how much water I'd been drinking.
