Subject: Cost for HRV Janus 4 system?

I've just been reading the HRV thread and found it really interesting. We actually had the HRV guy out the other day for a quote as we get really bad condensation. The first time he quoted $2700 for a Janus 4 system (system with 4 vents, usually $3060) and this time he quoted $2600 which he said was a "super-special deal" (of course...)

Out of interest, what else have people been quoted for this same system? Is $2600 really a good deal or is that what everyone pays??

Thanks

we paid $2500 but that was a 'friends and family discount'... didnt know the guy outside of HRV but we said no in august then called him back the following april so maybe he appreciated us calling him and not just any salesperson?? in August we were quoted closer to $3000 cant remember the exact amount sorry

We were quoted $4500 but we have a big house. 4 bedrooms and rumpus and needed a bigger motor etc. Not sure how much of it is sales man speak just to get extra $ but it was too rich for us. Now have a $119 dehumidifier from the warehouse and no condensation. Figured the added electrical will take a while to add up to $4500.

wE had a Janus 4 installed in 2013 we were quoted and paid for $3421.50 then:every consumer needs to be vigilant when dealing with this "HRV Mob";their business model is based on the consumer buying the basic HRV then buying add ons later such as a heat transfer pack or the new generation filter pack etc;their competition offer a more complete package incorporating Air conditioning and heat from the roof space and heat transfer between rooms ;I say buyer beware?
