We had one for O and loved it. We bought another 2nd hand to have a spare (for taking away and in case of wet beds)

I can highly recommend them for peace of mind - we used ours with sleep sacks so we always knew he was warm as well as safe!

They can be a bit fiddly to put on the cot at first but once you get the hang of it they are awesome!

Def recommend buying a secnd hand one and seeing if you use it.

I only used mine for 2 weeks when #1 went into his big bed. With #2 I have used since he was 5 months old and will be using for a while yet.

I got one but didn't use it for long. My first son was a few months old when I first used it and I found that no matter how I secured him in it he still managed to roll onto his tummy. In the end I figured if he wanted to be a tummy sleeper it was better that her was freer to roll back if he wanted or needed to.

We love ours, DS has been in his from the first day at home. He won't stand for having his arms swaddled but we have never had a problem with him startling himself awake. I think he knows it's part of the sleep routine, and we can do it reasonably firmly over his chest without having to swaddle him tightly. He also can't wriggle up/down the bassinet, so we don't worry about him hitting his head. When cold, we also put a blanket over the top and tuck it under the mattress so he can't smother, but keeps his arms warm.

Bought both of ours from the Sleep Store, the big one at the P&C show for about $60, the small one during one of their online sales for about $15. Only problem is wee accidents because they take a while to dry, but we just drape it over the heater at night while feeding and it drys enough to put back on the bed.

I will definitely be getting one for this baby - my cousin has one and swears by it!! my aunt has made three spares out of calico and velcro so if you are crafty you could easily do this! from the experience I have had with my cousins little houdini the one with the bit that also comes up between the legs is the most secure - but then you can use a sleeping bag easily...

I loved my safety sleep. Especially as DD was a wriggly sleeper, even with a sleep sack. It was great knowing she would stay put once in bed.
As she got older she figured how to roll in it and would sleep on her tummy. I think by that stage she would have been fine without it, although it had become a comfort thing and knew as soon as she was wrapped up it was time to sleep.
We had only just got rid of it last summer as she was in a big bed (it was great for keeping her from rolling out) and in the warmer weather she liked to be free.

We just bought one recently to try and stop DS standing in his cot but he hated being constricted and would scream and scream to get out! But, I have friends that used one since birth and they love theirs - I think the trick is to start using them early if you're going to use one

I love ours! I'm still using it and bubs is 19 months - although now more often she gets out ot it, I'll definately be using it in the single bed when we do the transition.

LOVE IT!!!

Once DS started rolling, he just wouldn't go to sleep because he was always getting out of his wrap and getting up on his hands and knees. He wouldn't settle so we decided to get a Safe T sleep and haven't looked back.

He now can still roll over with it on but he generally stays in the one place and like Daizy said, once he had it on, he knows it's sleep time.

Loved it and had a spare!

Great for peace of mind!

I bought one from baby factory and one from the parent child show which was heaps cheaper.

My cousin actually made hers but I'm not that good at sewing

i got one off trademe when preg with my last baby didnt use them with the other 3, and I LOVE IT!!!
ds4 started rolling b4 8wks while swaddled, so the safe t sleep came out as soon as he went to his cot, i also have one for the bassinet which i used to keep the swaddled, i also find that it makes it easier for dh to put emmett to bed as he has to be swaddled but even after 3 swaddled baby he still cant swaddle the 4th lol, so he does the best he can and then once the safe t sleep is on he is usually wrap tight enough. we also use sleep sacks which i highly recommend.

Safe T sleeps are awesome! We used one for DS until he was about 3 months, then he slept better without it. For DD she was in it for 8 months and has only just in the last few weeks, come out of it as she was getting onto her tummy and pulling it with her lol(she is very strong!).

Can I be devils advocate and say that I really don't like them.

I like that DS can wiggle and move freely in bed and believe its much better for his development. Sure he gets in awkward positions sometimes but we just resettle him and have no problem with doing this. I would hate to restrict his movement, can you imagine trying to sleep while being pinned down? The safety sleep is not for us.
