GOt copy of scan results back today and Doc said all was good.

I went home to have a look at report and it says I have a small perisac haematoma more inferiorly adjacent to gestational sac measuring 1.6ml in volume.

What is this and what does this mean??

I am almost 9 weeks and have had pain but no bleeding.

I just did some quick reading, and aparently although it can sometimes cause spotting/mild bleeding, it usually has no effect on pregnancy and will disappear on it's own by 13w.

Other than that, I don't know a lot!! I hope it relieves your mind though - and trust what your doc said, if it was anything major they would definitely be following it up

Thanks.

The doc didnt even mention it so hopefully thats a good thing and nothing to worry about.

Yeah I had that, both at 7w and 9w scans showed a area of bleeding. I had no external bleeding though. They said it could have been caused by a number of things but essentially nothing to worry about. I just had my 12wk scan this morning and the bleed was gone. The sonographer said my placenta was quite low though and that can sometimes cause bleeding. They'll just check yours at your next scan and make sure its not getting in the way or anything

I had one of these with Isabella, I had a bleed at 7ish weeks and then a few days later got bad cramps and redish bleeding, thought I was m/c'ing, had a scan and thats what mine said too, after my scan I bled bright bright red for a day then went brown and went away.

Hi Kellverone,

I am new on the forum. I am 21 weeks pregnant and I had very heavy bleeding when I was 11 weeks. The bleeding went away in a few days and my last scan (20 week) they did not find any trace of the haematoma. Apparently it is very common and it resolves by itself.
