Hi All - I'm hoping that one of our super knowledgeable TTC'ers or those that have experienced miscarriage might know the answer.... CD13 today (from Ov following miscarriage) and can't believe it but actually did a test and got a faint but definate 2nd line on First Response!!
All excited, but also worried as I don't know that HCG went back to zero as I only did a few HCG blood tests following MC as was away for work. And then recognised I was getting Ov signs two weeks later and got a +ve OPK. So just presumed that HCG must be back to zero in order to have ovulated. But is this right?? Or can you Ov and still have HCG? Aargh  Not sure if should get excited or not. No sign of AF yet so guess that's a good sign
Just really don't know enough about HCG and how it effects body re Ovulating etc after miscarriage. Does anybody know? Last HCG tests I had were around 19th & 21st May and it had fallen from 300 to 71, so presumed it was going down fine. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

sounds good to me buttons!
you can get POS OPK's from HCG however. I would wait a few more days and take another test and see if the lines get darkr coz that would mean HCG was on the rise again. Best of luck chick! -------------    CHEM 6/12+ |

Thanks Nic for the encouragement I don't have anymore tests, but will definately do another after tomorrow if no sign of AF still. The +ve OPK i'm pretty sure was from Ov'ing as had all the physcial symptoms (that's what alerted me by surprise that I was Ov'ing just couple of weeks after our heartbreaking MC, plus had -ve OPK's for 3 days leading up, then +ve for 2 days.

You can definitely still have hcg in your system after a miscarriage even after ov'ing again. One of my miscarriages it took a long time for the hcg to come down and they made me do repeat bloods until it was at zero. I guess if I were you I would get a couple of lots of bloods done then you would definitely know
I got pregnant on the very next cycle after my first miscarriage, I don't think you will be needing my little package I sent off to you yesterday lol

Buttons... that does sound very positive. I have read on one of my googles that it is easy to fall pregnant the cycle after a MC because some of the preggie hormones are in place already for pregnancy. However the opk may have picked up hcg or LH ... its a matter of wait and see..... FX big time for you

Still no sign of AF... don't feel pregnant as such tho
But managed to sneak an extra Hcg BT in today, so guess that will give the answer over next days if I do another. Also brought couple of extra HPT's to see if result darkens in next days. Doing okay No sign of AF!! But given it's first one following MC, not sure if should be reading much into that or not (thought should be given I definately Ov'd as per norm, but who knows )

GL Buttons, my first hcg test was 37 And I also conceived first cycle after a mc (unfortunately it wasn't a sticky baby either but that was for other problems I had!) I so hope this is it for you babe! Buttons, don't rule anything out yet. I'm another one who got pg on cycle after m/c without ever having AF. I was lucky enough to have a GP who did bloods every week for me so I knew HCG was dropping and got to zero before +HPT. Man was I surprised to ov 3 weeks after I started m/c and be pg again 5 weeks after m/c started.

Buttons I got bfp at 8DPO and hcg at 9DPO was 11, at 11DPO was 42 and 14 DPO was 250 so I am kepping fingers crossed for you -------------

Thanks Everyone Even though I'd got my result of 35, I couldn't resist and did another HPT this afternoon.... just wanted to see if any change from Monday's test. It's not really strong and bold, but is definately darker than the first (ie not really faint like that one) just an easy to see light pink 2nd line.
So again it's wait and see Might be just a difference in that I did this one late afternoon and the first one early eve.
If it's not a BFP then I REALLY hope AF turns up quickly (funny to be wishing that!) ------------- http://lilypie.com">

No test results back last night, so they said ring this morn... which I did... no results back told ring again after 11am..... again no results back so asked them to phone the lab to find out what the delay was... nurse just phoned back...IT'S 62!! OMG!!! that means it's gone up
That would be just too good to be true!! Couldn't talk to the nurse really as was at my office desk, so she suggested make appoinment to talk to someone about it. So am seeing my Doctor at 2:45pm. After I posted before I was thinking back to Bobsta's incorrect results muck up from the nurse and just don't trust it's true, so rang the clinic back to speak to the nurse again to just double check She must have thought I was a wee bit crazy, but she did go and check that it had now been emailed through as well as getting it verbally by phone... and yep, it's definately 62!! And she said it says beside it +VE Pregnant
So somethings definately going on in there (was her words )
Gosh can't focus on work!! Could I really be?? I just don't feel pregnant at all (except the lack of AF). Boobs feel totally normal etc etc. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

Guess just not believing it And my (.)(.)'s are usually the first sign for me that something is going on hormonely. But suppose if perhaps I still had some Hcg in system or because it's only few weeks since MC that my body already recognises it or something.

Nah the spewing was NOT good Yep I reckon you're truely UTD but can see why you'd have a hard time believing it. Once yo've had a few more HCGs done and peed on a few more sticks it'll seem more real. I have a theory-which might be totally wrong- that m/c and pg both can kind of 'kick start' your body into gear if that makes sense? We tried for nearly a year to get Clodagh and had at least 1 m/c along the way (that year) but then to get this one we had a oncer as it turns out at least 4 days before ov and there you go lol Def not a scientific theory but one nonetheless lol. You know what... I accept now that I just might be UTD Given the higher Hcg news I felt the urge to do another HPT, luckily my work is only 50m from the supermarket so sneaked over and got a FR and did the deed in the loos here at work... and it's exactly the same now as my first Hpt from my April pregancy A distinct 2nd solid pink line. So yippeeeeeee!!!

Just back from the Doc's. She confirmed looks like I'm pregnant! But not to crack open the champagne or start celebrating too much until the Hcg really starts rising ie gets into the 100's next week. So the waiting continues...

Hun if it helps at all? I looked into it a while ago and heaps of people have gotten UTD without AF after a MC and had sticky successfull pregnancies. So there is no reason not to be positive, I can imagine it is alot to go through emotionall though so make sure you look after yourself. ------------- Angel Babies Nov 09, May 10, Dec 10

Thanks Everyone It really is such fantastic support! I still can't believe that like Black Friday it's only 5 weeks since MC began and I'm pregnant again Just amazing what our bodies do when they decide to 'play ball'
I'm feeling a lot more confident now... can sense changes in my (.)(.)'s (yah!!) and just did another hpt... now I'm getting definate 2 lines on a ClearBlue compact (previously just the faintest of faintest at certain angles IFYKWIM). So the levels must be rising. Think it might be time to change my ticker Scared to jinx it, but guess what will be, will be...
