Hi everyone

I have an 11 month old girl and it seems that she is transitioning to one nap a day is this ok/normal for 11 months? Could you tell me your babies feeding and sleeping routines at 11 months.

Would be a great help thanks!

Will be interested too. DD is 10.5 months and has got herself into a pattern of breastfeeding 6 times a day, including once at night, sometimes twice. She has 2 naps of about 40mins each day. She used to do 2, 2 hour sleeps so perhaps she is also moving towards one nap.

I think 11 months is around the time many babies start to go to 1 nap. Often they have one longer one and one very short one for a bit before going to 1 nap. I also gather most have 3 breast / bottle feeds a day and no night feeds.

From what I have heard most babies do this around 14 -18 months, but some do it a bit earlier so yep definitely possibe.

At 10.5 months we have two sleeps of mostly 1 - 1 1/2 hours (longer if woke early in morning or short monring sleep). Three day feeds, one 10 pm dream feed (which am too scared to drop) and no night feeds.

DD went to 1 sleep a day at around 10.5 months. Not every day but certainly most of the times. She is now still mostly 1 sleep a day in the morning but still occasionally hits the wall and needs an afternoon nap.

It really depends on the child. If she is not grumpy ad manages ok then it should be fine.

Jack was still having 2 naps at 1yo, can't remember exactly when he dropped to 1 nap but it was probably 14mths or so. He was a 45min napper from the beginning.

Ben's routine is:
6-7am wake up
breakfast
9/9.30 bf and nap
11-ish wake up followed by lunch
2/2.30pm bf and nap (normally 1hr max)
3.30/4pm afternoon tea
5.30pm tea
6.30pm bf and bed

He is also bfing through the night but this is comfort feeding as he is not coping very well at all with cutting several teeth at 1 time

DD's (11 months) routine is:
up at 8am
200ml bottle
breakfast at 830
nap at 9.45-11.15 (around about)
lunch at 12 or so
200ml bottle after lunch
nap at 2.30-3.30 or so
dinner at 5.30
bath
200ml bottle about 6pm
bed 6.30pm
Sleeps through the night
Pretty much everyday is the same, except sometimes she will sleep in the car in the afternoon if we are out and the blows the afternoon sleep, even if its only been 10min in the car

Morgan has just started going down to one nap too (shes been having about 1day/wk of one nap since 10months but now she has a few days a week of one nap) so most days are like the following, but some days she will go down later in the morning, like 11.30 (or miss the morning one altogether and go down after lunch on playcentre day!) or have a really long one so not be tired til dinnertime ...

6/6.30 - BF or Bottle (just dropped the BF this week)
7.30 breakfast
9.30/10 Morning Tea
10.30 - 11.30/12 Nap
12/12.30 lunch
3/3.30 Bottle and Nap (for usually an hour)
afternoon tea (unless shes up too close to dinner time)
5.00 Dinner
7.00 Bath Bottle Bed

Jake started going to one nap at 11months and was fully on one nap by 14months.

My just turned one year old sometimes has only one nap a day - if she has a late "first" nap that lasts for more than a couple of hours, she can usually stick it out til bedtime. Every baby is different!

11 months next week here...

2 n half - 3 hours in am
2 hours in afternoon

and 7pm-6am at night
no signs of change here...

I have worked in ECE for many years and most babes start to transition around 16-18 months but of course all children are different..

go with the flow.. you will soon come to realise if your little one isnt getting enough sleep through the day. Good Luck
