I am having issues with my Camera. Its the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W170.

I can't get it to photograph my kids without going all fuzzy. It is driving me insane! I am missing soo many good shots. We brought it 8 months ago so we could get the good kids shots but its not working for us at all

What setting do you have yours on most of the time?

Thanks soo much, I really appreciate any help that is on offer as I am starting to get rather frustrated.

Are you holding the button gently before taking a pic? It should beep to indicate that it's focused on something. Then you take the pic.
We have a Cyber shot and just have it on the automatic setting, takes good pics. Although I find if DD is moving alot it takes a fuzzy photo. We use our big Canon camera for the 'action' shots.

Yeah, I am doing the half thing.

What one do you have it on for automatic shooting?

Both my kids move alot and the pictures are so fuzzy but the also tend to be fuzzy when they are doing nothing.

I think it's in the menu... maybe have a play round with it. But I basically just turn the camera on, turn it to camera setting (as opposed to video or play setting) and take a photo. How long have you had it? If it's still under warranty maybe take it back and show them the photo's, they shouldn't all be blurry.

I have to have the flash on mine or they go fuzzy too (inside that is). Give that a try (if you haven't already), it sucks losing good shots eh

I have the same camera and I find that mine starts to go fuzzy when it needs new batteries. Also if i dont have the flash on inside it is pretty rubbish.

Make sure the lens is clean - i know it sounds silly but this is the problem i had...

I thought i was holding it all wrong or something.
Hope you sort it out.. I know what it is like when you take a fuzzy photo and it was a great one

Right, will clean lense and charge battery. I have reset all menu options so its back to how it was the day we brought it.

I will have another play with it today.

We have a sony and it has to have a flash on inside to take a clear picture. It sucks and it seems to be something that effects sonys as they get older.

hubby said for outside shots try a hi iso setting - for fast movement.

make sure flash is on auto for inside shots

or take it into sony style in riccarton mall... if its faulty they should fix it and he said to take some sample pics in with you as well...

but he reckons a hi iso setting should fix it...

let me know how it goes!

Its still pretty rough so I am guessing I will have to take it in.

I was looking last night at photos from when we first got it and photos it takes now and they are crap.

Do you think I could just take photos in on a memory stick as haven't been developing them at all?

just take them in on the stick... hubby said if it is under warranty take it back to where you brought it from and they will send it to sony service.
