I was thinking mums don't get a lot of appreciation for the work they do, so we could start a little pat on the back thing here!

Post 2 things you are proud of that you've done today (doesn't matter how small/trivial), and 1 thing you're not so proud of that you are going to put right, if you haven't already.

I'll go first:

1. I'm proud of myself for taking some time out and reading a magazine at Starbucks. Wasn't baby-free but was relaxing.

2. I'm pleased that I made the effort to make Nathan a wholesome lunch.

3. I'm NOT proud of having a go at DH... but I did apologize and told him I love him

I hung the towels out.
I put dinner in the crockpot.

I actually don't think that there's anything that I've done today that I'm not proud of...

I'm proud of...

1. Trying the girls on more new food, which went down a treat.
2. Earning a decent paycheck this fortnight (I found out what I got paid today, so I class that as today) which will help with next month when I don't have a lot of hours to help pay the mortgage...

I'm not proud of...

3. Losing my rag slightly on an online forum.

1) Persevering at getting Morgan down to sleep. Took 25 minutes but we got there
2) Not eating all the chocolate in the house

3) Taking Morgan to bed with me for the midday nap. In my defence we're both still recovering from HF&M so I needed the nap and so did she.

And lots of to my beautiful Rowan who slept in her own bed at midday (so I feel a bit like I left her out) and has been very well behaved during the 25 minutes I took settling Morgan.

1/ No yelling in our house today
2/ Got some washing hung on the line rather than lazily chucking in the drier haha

Today was a good day. Don't think theres anything today I'm not proud of - my excuse for not getting all the housework done is coz I'm sick

1. I am proud of myself for realising the Accountants had made an error in our tax return and have saved us well over $10,000!

2. I am proud of myself for getting some housework done while have 2 kids under 3 here today and having dinner in the crockpot too.

3. So many things I am not proud of today, i cannot name just one

Wow caliandjack, a girl! Congratulations

Proud of...
1. Getting a lot of work done from home (when I work from home it's usually not very productive) and taking time out for myself

2. Not so much today, but the reward was today: leaving Jack at DC and he didn't scream - this is after he realised the carer we had issues with has been moved out of the centre after we made an official complaint. He's so much happier and I feel proud that I stepped up as a mum

Not proud of...
1. Being angry or disappointed that DH is 'only' going away for 6 weeks - 4 months as a) he needs a deployment for sanity's sake, and b) we need the money to do up our house. How bad is that?

Posted By: mummy_becks

I am happy that I got all the washing done today, 3 loads, cleaned, dry, folded and put away.

I am happy I made dinner off the top of my head (ie no cookbook and minimal ingredients) and it wasn't a disaster.

I am not proud of my expressing efforts. My Dad is looking after DS while I get my hair done tomorrow and I've been putting off expressing all day, so just did it then and only got 70ml. Will try again in the morning though.

Heidismum - $10,000, that is amazing!!!!

Great idea for a thread!

I'm proud that I managed the whole evening routine by myself while DH is away for work - including cooking dinner for our friends and dealing with the boys.

I'm proud that I persevered with getting my big boy to bed and wasn't too much of a soft touch.

I'm not proud that I ate too many toffee pops.

Today isn't over yet... but I will be busy over the next few hours so:

1. I am proud of the fact that I went to the trouble of doing a collection for one of the mums at SPACE for flowers and a card and a magazine for her too and took it over to her to offer a bit of support. Her newborn baby has been diagnosed with a rare kind of neurological disorder that gives her just 2yrs to live.    I am so heartbroken for them...

2. I am proud of the fact that during Nathan's sleep today I will be helping my husband out with some of the work things he has to do. I am really pleased to be able to find a way to help him and support him.

3. I am not proud of the 2hr sleep I had during Nathan's morning nap this morning (2hrs!!!) but in my defense I woke up with a sore throat that was so bad I couldn't talk!!

1.  That I studied hard today.

2.  That I had the patience to walk Brooke to the mailbox, and to the chookhouse - about 100 metres, but takes her little legs around 20 mins!

3.  Not proud - but I told DH off for spending too much money.  I get frustrated because I squeeze savings out of everywhere, while he just spends easily.

I'm proud of myself for doing 4 loads of washing today and getting the first two loads dried, folded and put away. The last two loads are still drying on the clothes horse.
I'm proud of myself for making a big batch of choc chip cookies so DF can have them for his morning tea at work.

Not so proud of eating half the cookie dough before putting them on the tray to cook tho....

Aw thanks NW for the lovely reply!

Proud of today...

1. Getting out of the house, even if it was to just get some nappies!

2. Assembling the new high chair and baby armchair all by myself with absolutely no help form dp!

3. For remembering to take the pill at the correct time!

Not so proud of...

Spending an extra $14 at the supermarket on stuff I didn't need.

1. I put Jake to bed and he didnt scream his head off, just went to sleep (DH normally does it because he normally has massive tanty's when I put him to bed).

2. I took Jake and FIL to the park for the morning (it is not happening nearly as often as it should and i feel so guilty about it).

....
I didnt even try and put Jake down for his afternoon nap in his cot just let him fall asleep on me and we both napped on the couch. I admit my patience for whinging/screaming is very low atm!

Today I'm proud that I had the guts to go back to the hairdressers and tell them I wasn't happy with my boy's haircut - so they fixed it up for me

I'm also proud that both boys are sleeping at the mo.

I'm not proud that I'm on the net right now rather than making rice pudding and folding the washing. Right, I'm gonna go do them RIGHT NOW! Then I can add it to the list of things I'm proud about

Today I'm proud that I sorted all DD's clothes and put away her 000 and brought out her 00 - it was really sad.

I'm also proud that the new convertible car seat has been put in the car - sad to put the capsule away though but shes just getting to heavy to carry around in it.

I'm not proud that I threw a tanty like a little kid because a couldn't get DD's dragon mirror in the car properly because of the anchor belt - i was getting so frustrated

2. Proud that I *finally* got to the library to sign up DS and me

3. (i know only 2 buuuut...) Proud that I restrained myself at knit world and only bought 5 balls of merino wool that was on special.

not proud of

- i bought a giant piece of cake at coffee group today. but in my defense, i didnt eat it all by myself, and that filled me up so i didnt do any impulse "im hungry" buys from the supermarket

I had to think hard for today's one.

Proud that I managed the banking and payments to TM purchases today despite yucky day.

Not proud of my house which is a total wreck - but hope to address that tonight (but would really rather not!)

Not very proud of myself at the moment re: argument with MIL but I guess I have been a good mummy to DS today despite throwing him in the air and his head bumping my tooth!! His cries made mummy cry    Have been giving him so much attention and cuddles and playtime with him today because he seemed to need it.

And have made progress with the housework somehow too...

And LilSquishy - yay for Riley rolling! Nathan rolled a couple of times since 3mths old and then all of a sudden was doing front and back and we couldn't stop him - he rolls from one side of the room to the other!!!

Linzy how long did all that baking take you???

I have to add that I am proud that I managed to catch up on all the dishes, cleaned the kitchen, the bathroom and loo, vacuumed, mopped the floors, caught up on all DS and DH's washing (now just mine to go) and washed some of DS's toys and tidied up all while watching Oceans 13

Feel like I need this today...these are more pats on the back generally rather than what's happened today.

I am proud of myself for breastfeeding for nearly 8mths now. I spent 4wks battling to breastfeed DS after a tongue tie and his refusing to take it. I expressed for 4wks and ended up with mastitis and was hospitalized and on the day I was about to give up, I tried nipple shields and with Plunket's help - he went on. Now 8mths later, no shields and no problems and looks like I will be breastfeeding till he's 12mths like I wanted to. So yay for me for persevering through that horrible time.

Secondly, I am proud of myself for the bond I have created with DS. It is really special - particularly when we have our little cuddles in bed and he drifts off to sleep in my arms, which he's done since he was a newborn. I feel like we have such a strong connection. And when I'm not managing that well I still find a way to rise above that and care for him, play with him and love him the best I can.

There are plenty of things I'm not proud of but I'm not going to think about them just now

What are things you're proud of about your mothering so far?
