Right... I had to go before as Joey was having a fit at my feet... he is now having a fit in bed after his snack etc.
I have been dinking heaps of water today... feel a bit waterlogged but it's supposed to help. Worked for Toni last week too by the looks of it! Well done!

I want to join the weightloss gang!!!! But I am really slack and have no motivation so can you pleeeeease help me? I think it is time I lost the extra weight I put on while preggy, which was a huge 20kgs. I'm still about 7 kgs over my pre-preggy weight, but am finding it really hard to loose that last 7kgs. Any tips (apart from huge amounts of exercise)

huge amounts of varying exercise nicola-ann. try not to do the same thing everytime as i found my body got used to it. if you are walking, try running from one power pole to another, then walk for 3-4 poles then run for 2 poles etc....
i can also highly recommend winsor pilates as a sure fire way to tone up everywhere! honestly, my thighs are a definate prob area and with pilates, they shrink! also that flabby belly really does get flatter
good luck ladies! you can do it!
i'll be joining you in about 60days

robyn definately try the pilates! i swear by it, honestly! i just do the 20min workout 3/4 times a week and after a couple of weeks you can really notice a difference. then once you're up to it, you can do the hour long workout once a week (time permitted obviously with 2 kiddlets )
i think they have them on tv at the mo for $14.95??? otherwise, you can always get them on trademe

I bought this yoga video with strong intentions to do it, but...oh my, we have some very interesting poses. I think i bought the advanced one instead! Might try and off in on trade me and use the cash to buy a pilates ones. (BTW, was it just me who thought pilates was pronounced to rhyme with "pirates")
Anyway, was bad today and didn't have breakfast. was being a martyr and Lewis hadn't done the dishes so couldn't use the frying pan to cook scrambled eggs. so starved and though he would notice....but he didn't, so i had to have some lollies.
excuses over - i'm going to get a water bottle tomorrow and drink tons of water. Hope I'm not going to have to pee constantly as septci tank is still a prob!
And Congratulations for all the ladies who lost this week!

I hate drinking water too. I ask Spencer to get me water if I ask him to get me a drink so then I'm not tempted by the fridge..... Thats the only way I've managed to be "good" with water.
Any ideas for breakfast for someone who HATES cereal of any kind? I'm kind of getting over the whole toast thing & while I was enjoying having fruit breakfasts it has affected Blaire through my breast milk.

Maria - we had it drained and can use it kinda. Baths are being bucketted into the washing machine - which has a hose leading directly to the drain - maybe illegal actually. As for the loo - WARNING - we now are conservationist believing "if it's yellow, let it mellow, if it's brown, flush it down". Gross, but I can say I'm being environmentally sound. As for when it'll get fixed - can't do anything until the ground dries up more!

What about yoghurt or boiled eggs for breakfast? With the whole diabete diet i was on I would have a low fat yoghurt and a piece of fruit. Or what about crumpets (low in fat if you watch what you put on it) or toastd muffins.

i was gonna say curmpets yummy with a little golden syurp try have 6 small meals a day sounds hard but worked for me before i got prggy and friut and low fat muffin bars rice crackers for snacks

Thanks guys, unfortunately (sort of) I think some of the fact that it's coming off relatively easily is because my appetite is a bit rooted at the moment... so hopefully once that problem is solved it won't all pile back on ! I do find small meals / snacks during the day easier to manage on though.

Well this morning I had 3 pieces of crumpet toast with marmite & an apple followed by lots & lots of water. Then I got hungry again (maybe the water flushed all the food out of my stomach??) so I had a couple of cruskits with cottage cheese on it.
I have no idea what to have for lunch but I'mthinking baked beans maybe or just a couple of lettuce & cheese sandwiches.

Hey Jax, I wouldn't worry about changing your weight.
I was told not to weigh myself more than once a week because weight can fluctuate everyday depending of food consumption, fluid retention, etc.
Once I weighed myself like three times in one day & I was 73, then 74, then back down to 72.5kg on my mum's electronic scales. I was panicking when I saw I had put on a kg in 3 hours!!!

Ok count me in!! I started at the gym last week & I currently weigh 88.8kgs need to lose quite a bit apprently to qualify for IVF. This weekend was a bit of a disaster for me too as we had the husbands birthday dinner (13 people) & I make the meanest Lemon merguine pie & cheesecake argh!! but i did pass on the pumpkin soup as that had full cream in it (a litre infact) and had a small portioned main. DH's & my obsession at the moment is homemade hamburger patties (grilled) in bread & salad...... this morning i have had a bowl of special K (the berry one its soooo yummy) and will be heading out the door soon as I get my butt off here to the gym!! will be making an effort to eat proprtly this week as no point going to the gym if your gonna eat crap food!! LOL BTW the best fizzy you can drink is sprite zero. Not coke zero as it still contains caffiene (sp?) in it only the sprite. i too struggle to drink water esp tap (yuckky) so always make sure I fill my bottle up again @ the gym water cooler LOL Im not paying $32 a fortnight for nothing LOL

lol they never are the same. Well I didnt have a too flasher day either. Started off well with the special K & a chicken filled roll for lunch & a chicken & salad sandwich for dinner but the bad bit was the custard square i ate at lunchtime (dang bakery makes the best custard sqaure ever from time to time & today it just happened to be there) not to mention the small slice of homemade cheesecake I had (thank god thats all gone but there is still lemon merguine pie left arrrgh!!) I did go to the gym & work my butt of doing cardio but it still doesnt justify it does it??? *looks whistfully hopefull*

I'm so virtuous and had TWO one hour walks - one today and one yesterday! AND didn't eat a pie- ate subway instead. Alsao, need new scales. I weighed myse;f and was 69kg - woohoo, then lent to one side and was suddley 75, then the other and was 73, then stood in the middle - 70 - the coughed and went up to 72, so off to the warehouse tomorrow!

Hmmm, those scales could work in your favour, stand on one foot and touch your nose and you might come down to 65kgs!
I played squash yesterday and was suppose to be going tomorrow too but now hubby has to work but we have booked in for the weekend. Its raining here so wont be able to get out walking but the minute its warmer I will. Im aiming for at least -500gms this week.

Fotunately with the meds I am lucky if I get moments during the day where I have a "normal" appetite, so I snack on what I can, when I can, and have to force myself to make it as healthy as possible - not to mention have virtually cut out caffeine. Horrible side effect though is nausea in the morning but am taking losec to sort that out hopefully. This Friday will certainly be interesting, as I've been for a couple of big walks since the last weigh in and might fit in one or two more.

Well I went to my first WW last night - am feeling very motivated today and have just got home from a fast 40 minute walk (took me 45 on the weekend). Got one of the journal trackers as well cos I found last time it really helped me.
Of those who are going to WW, how many have tried the no Points plan? I am thinking of doing points for a while cos thats what I'm used to, then trying No Points cos I pretty much eat the same food everyday!

I am joining the gym this week too. I am losing consistently but want to speed things up a bit and tone up the baby belly! I ahve been walking every day, even when its raining, but it is pouring down and windy so I think not today. I hate not being able to get out for my walk (esp on weigh in day!) but I have been the last 6 days and played badminton last night so that should make up for it.

I have great incentives keeping me going! Once I've lost 5kg I get to buy a new digital camera - hopefully next week if I can lose 1.1kg this week. Then when I lose another couple I get my hair done. Then at goal (still not sure what that is yet) I get a new wardrobe of clothes! All things that I was ging to do/buy anyway but this way I have to work for them! Have you got any rewards/incentives planned Robyn? And are you going to WW or doing it alone?
I actually enjoy going to the gym, just don't have a lot of time to go. So I've joined for one month to see if it will fit in or not.

I do want to lose some weight before hubbys work picnic end of november but i keep forgetting about it. was looking through some old pics today and its depressing how skinny i was. Ive brought some weight watchers meals and thought if i liked them i might stock up and just eat them for a week and see how i go. I also need to stop grazing and actually sit down and eat 3 meals a day which is quiet hard with the kids needing me every two bloomin seconds. Maybe I should set myself a 5kg goal from tomorrow. hmmmm but what, something thats not food orientated like a meal out.

A new outfit? I have a photo of the camera I want on the fridge, so everytime I open it I get to decide - food I dont really need or my camera. Maybe put an old photo of yourself on the fridge... Hang in there chick, once you get the ball rolling you will feel so much better about yourself and want to lose more.

A new outfit is a great idea, something i can wear to the bbq maybe. When i say work picnic Im talking about 200 people at least hence the reason i dont want to be looking like the house i do now.

Robyn, how many weeks away is the work do? It is definitely possible to lose 5kg in 4-6 weeks, and 5kg is even to make a difference to how you feel and makes your clothes baggy.
I vaguely remembered you mentioning Xenical or something a while ago. One of my friends took one course of Reductil (for around a month I think) while she went to weight watchers as well and it just helped kickstart her weight loss, and she was able to continue successfully without it. Just a thought.
Thats a great idea Liz. And very cool to get your dress money to spend Jess

So far today ive had a low fat yoghurt, small bag of pretzels, a banana and my ww meal. feeling good and motivated, now i just have to figure out what to have for tea thats healthy.

I'm joining up too tried some clothes on in the weekend and just realised I don't have a waist anymore! Sucky!!! Nothing fits, and nothing even looks remotely nice. I have my cousins wedding to go to on 23 October and I want something nice to wear to that so it starts today because I haven't got long!
I've got a gym membership but it's currently on hold as I'm not sure how I'll get the time to go.
I weighed in this morning at 87.2kg which absolutely sucks because I was not much heavier than that when I was pregnant! I'm putting it down to having extra time on my hands during the day and raiding the fridge/pantry when I get bored/when Ashlee's in bed. I've brought all my scrapbooking stuff out to the dining room table so that's enough to keep my hands busy and not think about food until I get bored of that too! And once this Wellington weather clears up good and proper, more walks will be on the cards. I just don't want to get bored with walking as well.

I am just so unmotivated at the momment. I've got a pedometer and was shocked to see I only do about half the recommended steps. after the day with a toddler and a crawling child - only 5000 steps. I was kinda shocked as I thought I did a lot of wakling. when we were in Plam,y I used to walk to the shops and walk around all the time, but we are so rural now, there aren't so many places to go, and rural roads can be dangersou to walk along. I joined that pushplay thing which has some great ideas. We've been spending time with Jake dancing to the wiggles and playing balloon volleyball. We played hide and seek a while ago, but Jake won't hide. Today i plan to take the kids to see the deer down the road - about a 20 min walk each way.
i have been doing lots of house work, includsing mowing the lawns and that counts I hope! But I've also been naughty and haven't eaten breakfast!

aaargh - I have been terrible this weekend - had people for dinner on Saturday and I made yummy (fattening) food - I stayed away from desert but had to eat the leftovers from dinner yesterday... plus haven't been drinking water either...
I am sooooo slack, grrrr, now I am finding it hard to get "back" on the bandwagon...

I too had a bad weekend but i did let meself indulge as I started my WW diet today!! ive so far had 61/2 points and not feeling too bad. Just a question your only allowed 16/day arent you? I cant remember its soooo long ago lol.
I have a gym assessment at 3pm today so will be interesting to see how i go & what the results are (ive been going for 3 months)
My incentive was a bikini I bought at the weekend (and it was only $20 from beach hut!! what a score) its realistically sized (16) and i want to look good wearing it this summer (with the boardies of course LOL) also i want to go shopping for a new wardrobe (hmm maybe we should all meet up & go together LOL) and i have my friends wedding in feb that im MOH in & if im not pregnant by then then I at least wanna look good

I think its more like 20 points a day depending on how much you weigh and also exercise gives you more points.
I had a bad weekend but managed to stay away from takeaways. It was hubbys birthday yesterday and cos of bathurst we had a bathurst birthday day and had people coming over all throughout the day to watch it (we have a huge tv) so i was doing party food all day and picking constantly but only had one creamed lamington and one savoury, the rest was crackers and cheese mainly. IM too scared to jump on the scales though.
Ladies if you wnat to join I can add you onto the weigh in chart, just let me know your details.

Sylvo, for me, based on my weight (under 70kg) and a moderate activity level I am allowed 19 points a day. It was 20 until I went under the 70kg mark!
