Hi all,

First of all, I'm not even sure this thread is in the right place, so apologies if it isn't. I really would love some advice from anyone who can help. My DH and I have been TTC for two months now, so we're still pretty new to this whole thing. Unfortunately, my DH is suffering from impotence and its starting to have a really cr*p effect on him, understandably. TBH its not even just the pressure of TTC that has caused this, it has happened in the past to us.

DH is almost 38, normal weight, pretty healthy and fit. We do know that its pyschological for him, once it happens a couple of times, its so hard for him to keep those nasty thoughts out of his head. We have tried a few things, like horny goat weed, some herbal things, but TBH we haven't seen great results. The next step is to go the Dr and look at something like viagra. He is obviously embarrassed about going to the Dr, but open to it all the same. He is also concerned about becoming "hooked" on viagra if he did go on it.

We have managed to BD quite a lot over the last week, and he does ejacluate, but we're not always sure that its where it needs to be, IYKWIM, and sustaining it is the issue.

Can anyone help with some advice or similar situations? I just want to help my poor DH and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks NEN10, I really, really appreciate your response. You're right, in fact, those were his exact words "I feel like I'm failing you and us". It sucks cos I feel so caught up in TTC and sometimes forget the anxiety my excitement must cause him. I think he will go to the Dr, he just isn't sure if he wants a male or a female. I have to give him his dues as he is so open to trying out things and trying to find a solution. I hope it is something simple that we can get sorted.

Thanks again

Definately go to the doctor. Quite often it can be a side issue to high blood pressure or diabetes etc so a once over wouldn't go a miss. It could be a pyschological thing too but best to rule out other things as well. You want a healthy daddy once you become preggos. Good luck this is not an easy situation for either of you.
