take care. really sorry to hear about your grans passing... its wont be an easy time for you, but take strenght and comfort knowing she is at peace, and treasure every moment you had.... good and bad. cry as little or as much as you need.
your gran will forever be in your heart. i lost my grandma last july, and was with her as she passed away, it seemed so surreal that she was gone... and even today i expect her to laugh or smile or tell me off for something little, then i ache a bit knowing that she wont. she is forever around me. i love her so much. and i do still cry for her, and again ache at her last few months of suffering.... SO im sending you BIG BIG HUGS.... |

Hey Lu, my grandad died a week ago (or maybe two now). I just trusted that he was in a better place and now not suffering. (He'd been sick for quite a while too).
So be strong and remember that she is now free from her illness and make the most of those memories

Roksana, I don't think I posted about it much. Just to the Wellington girls as I couldn't make coffee group.
I'm an unemotional freak and don't get sad about these things! I don't know what it is. I'm a little worried that some day everything that has happened in my life will hit me and I'll snap good and proper 
The funeral was good tho. Was really lovely to have little Hannah there chatting away through the service as it made it much more light hearted. I can imagine James and Hemi will be the same! Makes it a whole lot easier for the family to deal with when they can see the young ones having fun. I read a passage from the bible at the service. Ecclesiastes 3:1-13... standard funeral stuff. Was a bit ironic reading from the bible at my grandad's funeral, the man who avoided church at all costs! haha But it was nice too. It's a lovely passage. The other day Gran sent me a package, she'd found a poem I wrote for Grandad when I was about 13. It was really nice to get that and think about him then, when he was healthy and happy. Sorry for hijacking thread Lu... I guess I just wanted to show that it doesn't have to be a really sad occassion. That there are going to be happy times and sharing within the family. Make the most of spending time with everyone.

haha and just a funny story about the passage I read. My gran is quite conservative and didn't want me to read out the bit that says "And a time for kissing, and a time for not kissing"... which was fine, but then she left in "A time for making love, and a time for not making love" ?!?!?
Well, I suppose 'making love' doesn't have to mean sex, but you'd have thought she'd be more prudish about the connotations that go with that than kissing! hehe |

I lost my grandad to cancer years ago but he died really quickly and was not in too much pain...so I was glad about that, but it did not make me feel any better....I was very close to him! After that day I refuse to go to Funerals.....the next one I went to was Atish's Brother's and Father's....and that was because he needed me there.
