Sorry I know this has been asked a thousand times before me lol but has anyone got any good recommendations for a CHCH midwife? I'm in Southshore so preferably someone close. I'm hoping for a VBAC so someone with a wealth of experience would be good. Although I guess with the midwife shortage I can't afford to be picky lol.

Town's ok might have to give her a try. LOL KA isn't it funny I was always so sure I'd have another c/section but to be honest I'm not sure they would give it to me any way since my last was an elective. I guess I'll just see how we go :) The recovery would be much easier.

Congrats Lisa My midwife was Kay Shaw and although I found her via the Midwifery Resource Centre in Manchester St, I had alot of my appointments with her at Burwood Hospital, so maybe she would be an option. She's with Midwifery Associates. Absolutely lovely lady.

Congratulations! I haven't spent a lot of time with my new midwife however she is younger and seems lovely . A friend who had a good natural birth recommended her.
She does home visits rather than clinic appointments which is helpful, however you do need to go and visit her back up a couple of times towards the end who is in Barrington, which would be a bit of a trek for you.
However if you wanted to give her a call her name is Lysandra Thomas from Pregnancy Matters.
Good luck finding the right person for you!

Midwives on Barrington, which use the same rooms as Pregnancy matters. They do home visits if you ask them to, I am sure they would be happy especially with two toddlers I can recommend Jo and Kelly had both and they are brilliant. Prefer Kelly though.
CONGRATS!!!! Haven't caught up with you in ages!

Actually Merivale midwives is who I used last time :( They were lovely ladies but I wasn't happy with the level of care. I felt they took on too many women. Perhaps it was because I was having twins and an elective c/section but I didn't feel they were all that involved.

I used Halswell Midwives so probably wrong side of town for you but my MW Vicki did home visits and she was awesome at the birth (even though she didn't deliver bubs) and afterwards she was even better.
So i reccomend either Vicki or Rachel at Halswell Village MW's.

Hmm, don't know Wendy. I would go with one of the originals from there so Liz, Adriene or Barb. I had Liz both times but she missed #2 birth so had adriene who was amazing!

I know that kelly only takes 2 women due each month which was great! Not sure if it is the same for the other mws there but they all seem to have a low work load so heaps of support.

I'm with Estelle McCarthy - went to her on a friend's recommendation and I quite like her. She does one day a week at the Halswell Village Midwives, but is also in St Martins and somewhere in Merivale.
Had also heard great things about Vicki and Thalia from Halswell Village but they were both booked out for October when I started the midwife selection process
