I've been watching the docomentary about the girls born with too much skin. Those families are amazing to deal everyday with such a hard condition.

I've decided to stop watching it because it's too heartbreaking and I feel physically sick from seeing the photos of them as newborns. We went through nothing compared to them, but seeing the photos and hearing them talk about what a shock it was to see their babies looking like that brought back so many memories and feelings for me.

DH and I have talked about maybe having a 3rd but I've been unsure about it because of the PND, but honestly...I'm also so scared of having another baby born with something abnormal.

I'm not wanting to upset anyone who's pregnant by making them get worried, but I'm so used to saying "Oh, it's no big deal...everything's fine" (which it is compared to those poor girls) but seeing this show has made me realise it was a traumatic experience I don't think I'm willing to risk again.

Sorry for my big ramble...DH is out in his man cave and I just feel like I needed to talk to 'someone'

Ramble away

Your fears and hesitations are completely understandable given what you went through with your lovely little girl , watching things like that must bring lots of hard memories back

Do you think you might have a bit of PTSD? I have wondered the same about me... I have a healthy son but it was a mildly difficult (emotionally more than physically) pregnancy but a horrible birth experience and when I thought seriously about trying for another baby recently I got very anxious. So I understand how you might feel. I concluded that I wasn't ready yet.

For me, I have realised that I need to talk through the birth experience with a counsellor of some kind and talk about my anxieties about having another one.

Many mums with PTSD opt not to have another child. You simply don't have to if you really don't want to! But if you do, and it's important to you - I really recommend you see someone to talk through your experience and your fears.

Hugs!!

I thought about you when watching a bit of it Brenna - what you went through was heartbreaking for you guys, so I completely understand where you're coming from. I think it's one of those things that may just take time to heal the emotional scars.
