I just not sure if anyone else out there has had the same occurance with their child or know of anyone else that this happens to.
My DD was about 4 months old and laying under her Playschool gym when mum yelled out and said, watch Dakota's eyes. We waited and waited and then her eyes rolled back into her head. Only very quickly and almost like she was trying to see the lights that were above her head. DD is now 2 years old and on occasion when I'm watching her she does do it. Only ever when laying on her back though. Does this seem very odd, should I be worried..? I was helping her to fall asleep last week and stroked my fingers across her forehead and she did it again. That was the last time I actually saw her do it. I'm worried but trying not to if know what I mean. Any help would be much appreciated.. Hmm Im not sure hun, but maybe its just a quirky thing that she does?
As long as she is still totally with it when she does it, Id say its nothing to worry about, but definitly talk to your gp about it if you are worried. ------------- |

I would go to your Doctor. I dont really think anyone is experienced or qualified enough to reassure you about this. As a registered nurse it's hard for me to say whether she is just looking upwards and it's nothing to worry about or whether she is in fact having a kind of seizure. Both me and my dad does it sometimes when we sleep. Sleep with our eyes open but rolled back i our head. DD did it a couple of times too when she was newborn. I did it when I was in labour and my poor midwife freaked out, DH had to reasure her that it was normal for me.
I haven't seen anyone do it when they are fully awake though. I don't think you have anything to worry about but for peace of mind maybe go see a doctor, better to be safe then sorry. |

both mine do it. Our eye specialist told us it is fine. ------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived! |
