Hi ladies, I am making some headbands for my soon to be lil girl and have some stretch lace to make it from, i want to make one that will fit her straight away and then stretch a bit should she be bigger or till like 4weeks... what size was your daughters head NB?? what size would you recommend i make it to?? thanks :-) -------------    CHEM 6/12+ |

Addie's was 36cm but that's on the larger size for a NB. Just looking at the charts in the Well Child book, the range is approx 32-36cm, with the average 34cm  -------------

thanks wegee!!! I have enough to make quite a few so might start with 34cm and then let it stretch from there with her... anybody else have head sizes for me??

Natalie was 34 nb, and 37.2 at 4 weeks. Lauren was 33.5 nb and 37.8 at 4 weeks. ------------- ~Cassie~

Isla's was 37.5cm NB and was 39.5cm at 4wks........ it was a little on the large size but in proportion with all 11lb 8oz of her...... lol -------------

36.6, 36.7 and 37 and all grew by about 2 cm at 4 weeks. They were all about 9lbs and 52 cms long.
Are you sure you want a visual on what is about to come out? lol |

haha KIWI, i was just thinking that!! EEP!!! good thing i have NO idea what size she is lol...the lace is quite stretchy so if i base it on an average size it should fit even if shes a lil bigger ------------- CHEM 6/12+ |

Lily was a small baby (birth weight and length) and even now her head is 'small' but she's grown heaps weight wise but not so much height wise lol 
eta: funny thing is her height has always been the 'same' as her HC, so she was 54cm long and HC 34 at birth, 4 weeks was 56.5cm long and 36.5 HC... 59cm at 9 weeks and HC 39cm. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

BAMN08 - haha, no, not ouch..... well not in that way anyway! lol they had to cut her out of me..... not way she was coming out 'that' way! thank goodness..... don't think I would have walked the same ever again! lol She was 56cm long by the way. So length and weight are pretty much on the 97th $ile line.... head circ has always been well above it tho! lol She must have a big brain like her Mummy -------------

Haha, must be an Isla thing- her head was 37cm too! Aiden's was 37cm too, and they were both 52cm long and almost the same weights too - she was 8lb6 and he was 8lb14 |

Very pretty headband, have just been looking into these for DD (keeps getting mistaken for a wee boy!).

cinders, they are really easy to make and not that expensive! you can make them FAR cheaper than what they sell for on all those sites etc, now iv looked into it they have HUGE markups, made me want to make and sell my own lol i could even underwrite their prices and still make a good profit ------------- CHEM 6/12+ |

yup, that stretch lace was like 79cents a meter if you use ribbon, as it doesnt stretch id suggest sewing a lil stretch elastic at the back to help ease it on and off..bad reference but a bit like a quick release cat collar ------------- CHEM 6/12+ |
