Hey Guys,

I was just given a prescription by my gynae today for clomid and he said I should take it CD1-5. There seems to be a lot of conflicting info out there about when to take it and as I am on CD3 today I was wondering if you think it would be ok to start this cycle rather than wait till next??? Any ideas? Thx

Hi,how long is your cycle usually? Mine is usually about 32 days long and I take clomid on days 5-9
By the way you should come join us in clomid pill poppers

oops sorry I just noticed your ticker.Since your cycle is shorter that's probably why he wanted you to take it early on. Can you ring him and ask?

Thx Farrah. I asked him when I was there and he said the only reason why he suggests CD1-5 is that it dries up CM so it it best to take it at the earliest point in your cycle regardless of cycle length. So annoying that everyone has different ideas!!

I took it days 2-5...i dont think 1 day would make much difference...but then i'm not a doc lol if it was me I would probably take it....Ya can use preseed or take robitussin (cough mixture) as it has something in it that helps with you're cm round ovulation time with clomid. Good luck with you're decision and ya first round, fingers crossed for a BFP at the end of it

heres an article on robitussin and clomid...dont know how legit it is as it was the first I went into after google brought it up, but it pretty much says all I had been told during our clomid journey http://www.fertilityplus.org/faq/cm.html - robitussin but have a look at others too

They changed protocols on me a couple of times whilst I was taking clomid, I think I took it from CD2, and then they changed it to CD3 later in the piece. I actually did one round where we started really late (CD5 from memory) -with FS permission. We conceived starting on CD3 . All the very best.

I'm the same as Ceres, took mine on either day 2 or day 3. Good on you for starting anyway and GOOD LUCK!
