Does anyone know where the tether strap anchor point is in an Audi A4 Avant wagon (1999)?

It's a Japanese import so I don't have a manual, but specifications I found online say that this model year should have a rear child seat anchor point as a factory standard, but I just can't find it at all!

Does anyone have this car, and could tell me where it is?

I don't know where yours is, but I had difficulty finding mine and they were on the inside of the back of the boot - the back of where the lights are, if that makes sense? Perhaps you could check there??

I don't have the same car but Does your car have a mat in the boot that you can pull up OR if you look closely can you see like a 'cut out' square/rectangle like when you punch something out of paper? Our car manual said ours had a factory one in the boot, didn't specify where so I looked all over then finally found it, had to cut the material out of the way to see it! Hope that makes sense...

But look on the floor of your boot... left or right side.

And mine was under a little round plastic cover... Sorry should've said that before...

Thanks for your advice - I was looking for something with a plastuc cover and couldn't find one.

I have found two holes on each side of the boot that look like they are covered with paper, if that makes sense -- but the paper is the same colour as the paint so looks like it was put on at the factory.

If these are the right holes, I would need to cut a hole through my boot carpet to get to them -- could this be right??

Ring up the company. If it is semi new they probally have anchor bolts in the boot.

That could be right. We have an 97 Audi A4 and had to put in our own anchor points. The holes should be centred to the seat if they are tether holes for your bolt.

Yes, I had to cut the boot carpet to get to mine, I knew which one though because I pushed down and it was hard where the bolt was but not on the other side, e.g you could feel there was air underneath!

Thanks for all your help -- the holes I found are actually off to each side of the boot not centred, so don't know if they are the right ones or not.

I think I will have to go off to a mechanic -- thanks for your advice on calling them Kellie, but it's not really a new car (11 years old) and a Japanese import, so I don't know how helpful the company will be.

I was just hoping there was something obvious I had overlooked!

It they are off to the side then they are probably holes for the luggage straps that euro cars have. Ours have them as well.

You could also try a safe to go technician through plunket or baby on the move.

Our ones were behind the left passenger rear seat and behind the drivers rear seat but in the boot if that makes sense, so not centered at all but definitely the right thing as looks exactly the same as the one in our other car!

But as I can't see it, I would say best to go to your mechanic or car seat specialist as they'll know for sure!
