Hi - I am looking at returning to work, 20 odd hours per week. I will leave home 5am and return 10.30am. This will allow me to earn some money but still have most of the day with DS. My DH leaves home around 6am so I am not sure what my child care options are - any ideas??
Thanks

Some centres open early .. ours opens at 7, but I know that others in the area open earlier than that.

However if you wanted to have them in that early you would usually need to book an entire day, they dont do part hours for that time frame, part hours are usually 8.30-3.30 from our research.

What about in-home care? If you find someone who could start that early, that could work well. What area are you in and how old is your son?

son is 8 months and live south auckland. DS does not wake till 8 - 8.30am so I dont really like the idea of waking him to take to daycare at 6am and had thought of in home care - but where do I start looking for that?

If you want someone to come to your house you will need a Nanny or something like that, you could ring one of the Nanny agencies in the phone book, they should be able to help, Otherwise you could try student job search and see if you could get soemone that was training to be a teacher or something like that.
