It's no secret on here that my 8mo DD is a terrible sleeper, so its fair to say there hasn't been a lot of BD going on since she was born, but it seems that everytime we do get there (even if I don't O), that I spend the next 20 hours or so with mildy uncomfortable cramping from my uterus-ish area. Is this normal, or should I be talking to the GP about it?

We probably only BD once every 2-3 weeks at the moment, so I don't know if it would improve with, err, practice?

I would probably have a chat to the GP, I haven't had anything like this before but it doesn't sound very comfortable.

I would chat to your GP too, I had some problems there after the birth but had to suck up my embarrassment and spit it out!

I haven't had the cramps since giving birth but TMI sex made me have a false labour whilst pregnant and I often had cramps after having sex then too. But not after giving birth.

And things definitely improve with practice, only in the last month has it not hurt.

Sounds like one of the symptoms of endometriosis so worth checking with your GP as although pregnancy is meant to help I know people for whom it has become worse after pregnancy.

Endometriosis (from memory) can cause cramping after sex, very painful periods (or no pain at all just to make things confusing!), heavy periods, bowel symptoms...and that's all I can remember off the top of my head.

Definitely worth checking out.

Darn, I was hoping for several "oh yes, it was like that for me too" response

Ok then, will make an appt with a GP. I have very very light periods, so hopefully not endo

From what I know about endo the symptoms can be really variable depending on the person.  Fingers crossed it's some random thing that comes right after a while!

Best to check if they are bothering you, otherwise it might just be one of those things you may never know. Have you tried calling a nurse or healthline? I've only had the cramping as braxton hicks while pregnant and I assume that you have already ruled that out somehow If they are not painful, it sounds odd but I'd just see if things improve...with practice, as you say. I'm sure your DH wouldn't mind

Haha busymum, yes indeed the thought of pg had crossed my mind, but i did a test last time it happened and nope... maybe I should double check?!

I need to go back for more contraception soon, so will just ask about it then. It's a month wait for a doc appointment here

i have endo and very light periods also.. last three days at the most and not heavy at all,

but ive never had cramping after bd either untill i was pregnant.. though i would imagine your uterus will take a while to get back to totally normal feelings after spending so long in the totally stretched out position :)

i would imagine if you had endo you would have more symptoms then just after bd cramping, so hopefully it will be something non serious (or you are preg again lol)
