Make it a game! Let her wear togs, put no water in the bath, fill up pots, bowls etc from the tap and play with them to show its fun and take the pressure off. Doesnt matter if she doesnt get washed much the first night!
Put a drop of food clouring in the bath so its a differnt colour. Get in with her and let her wash you. |

Ooh yes food colouring! I would have loved that as a kid.

We went through similar with our son - think he was round 2 years old. We just couldn't get him in the bath without a screaming and crying match.. in the end I got some really cool bath toys and put them in the bath where he couldn't reach them and HAD to get in the bath to play with them... I even got in the bath and played with them saying how much fun it was...

| My niece did this about the same age - around 2yo. My husband (her favourite uncle!) would bath her and play loads of silly games with her and she got over it eventually. |

My DD has recently been through this. I wonder if the temperature had been a little warm for her one day but whatever the case, she would scream the entire time. We kept the bath shallow so the water wouldn't threaten to topple her; I also stopped bathing her when two of the other girls were in the bath as they kept shrieking for fun but I think that may have been scary for her. I also dropped her bathtimes to about every 3 days so it didn't have to occur so often. One day I happened to bath her in a different bath (we have two LOL) and she really enjoyed it. No idea why. But since then she has been fine. She really enjoys playing with pouring toys in the bath (once she outgrew the urge to drink from them!) which are best obtained from laundry powder boxes  -------------  |

DS did the same at a similar age.

Definately the food colouring! We've done this with DD, she's just learnt her colours and is obsessed with them around her at the moment, and loves choosing which colour to chuck in there.
Make it a fun place not at bath time? Another fun game with food colouring is to chuck some random drops in an empty bath with a bit of ice, and the child in their togs. That doesn't make sense.....hang on:

| My lil boy went through a phase of hating the bath/shower and so I would put him in, do the business and take him out. Quick and painless. It only lasted a few weeks and he was into it again. |
