OK so not really a 'product' , but does anyone live in one?

We are thinking of purchasing a section in a gated community, just wondering how you find it.

Also how does it work when you have visitors, couriers etc.

Thanks!

My parents were looking to buy a section and build in one too, but decided against in for a number of reasons -
resale value- possibly easier to sale a house thats not in a gated community as that may put people off.
Parking- the strees was very narrow- not room for people to park on both sides of the road and still drive down also.
They were looking at the section closest to the gate, and were wondering if the maintance of the mutual enterance way gardens etc would be left to them.
Road mainatance- who pays for road repairs/maintance, if the community is not on an actual road? The place they were looking at was just down a driveway off a road. There will be some sort of legal contract sored out so everyone has to contribute, but what happens when the original owners move on?
Rubbish collection - having to transport their rubbish to outside the gate.

I think alot of those concerns are dealt with by the body corporate and strata titles Kellz.
I looked at it one day and they mentioned that you pay a fee to the body corporate every year as well as your mortgage rates etc.

I know in my old unit the owners paid towards the body corporate and they hired someone to do the hedge etc. The things that hit the owners where I lived was that the roofs needed to be replaced so each owner had to fork out $20,000+ or something to do that but it needed to be done because the buildings were leaking and if one didn't then it would just seep into the neighbours anyway
