Just wondering if anyone else waits till their baby wakes up before they get out bed in the morning? Or am I the only lazy one who doesn't get up until my baby wakes up between 7.30-8....sometimes 9?
I guess this doesn't count if you have to do school drop offs....

Hehe no you're not alone. I always wait until C wants to be up for the day, and even then I'll play with him in bed for a while before getting up at some point after 8.

I don't get up until my kids wake up... but then again they wake between 6-7am. I'd love to sleep in until 9am though, and unless I had a particular appointment to get to, I would probably sleep until then too!

I stay in bed till Isla wakes up too. But she normally wakes at 7-7.30ish so it's not exactly much of a sleep in. Although some mornings she will go back to sleep after her feed so I'll put her back to bed and I'll just into bed for a few more hours too

No, I am the total opposite I figured out quite early on that the only way that I would get a good shower and a few moments peace and quiet whilst I ate my breakfast was to get up just after my DH and head straight into the shower. This became even more important with two monsters So I get up just after 6. Some days it is really hard but i am always glad that I do later on when the morning chaos is in full swing

nope, I sleep in until after DD has woken, she generally just plays on us and climbs everywhere and reads her books etc. We turn the tv on and she watches that on and off then sits on DPs head haha.
I'm not a morning person so really struggle when I have to get up early

I usually stay in bed till DS wakes up and calls out to me. On a normal day that's some time just after 7 so that works well with when we (DH) need to get up anyway. Today he slept in till after 8 which was great because I've been awake since 4am
Before I got pregnant again I would get out of bed before C if he woke late and use the time to have a cup of tea in peace and get dressed! But at the moment I am happy to have a slow start to the morning. Will all change in a few weeks so I am making the most of it.

I get up once DH has left for work, anytime from 7am..I do the lunches as soon as I get up and have a coffee. I'm luckily enough to be able to have a shower in peace around 8 then we leave for school around 830.
Weekends we have turns sleeping in, my day is Saturday and I usually get up around 9.

our kids stay in bed til 7.30 DS learnt real early anything before that was treated as 'night waking' so he plays in his cot. work both ways though. if for some reason he isnt awake at 730 we go and get him up. lol. all 4 of us get up at 730 but in the weekend if the kids are happy sleeping or playing we will stay in bed til they want to get up

I'm out of bed at 6am on the dot every day except saturday which is my sleep in day. I have washing on, kitchen cleaned etc before either of them wake up usually - sometimes the baby is awake at the same time as me. Thomas gets up at 7am.

I do , unless we need to be somewhere in the morning. And most of the time I leave him in his cot for at least half an hour after waking, just while I wake up. Love it when he sleeps till 9am.

I used to be like jaycee and get up 30mins before DS so I could have a shower, but then 6.30 became too early. So I just get up at 7am when DS wakes up, usually I let him play for 15mins before I actually get up.
And I just have a really quick shower before DH leaves for work.
Has anyone figured out why toddlers/babies don't know to sleep in on the weekends?

I'm a self-confessed lazy-bone. I get her up when she starts whinging/crying somewhere between 6 and 7 am, shes up for an hour in which she gets fed, changed, then alone play while I have brekky and chuck on some washing. Then we both go back to bed for 2 hours!!!
Lazy I know.

Jude wakes up between 6 and 7 or sometimes a bit earlier. I bring him into our bed and give him a feed then he usually plays on the bed while I doze (sometimes! Not as much as I'd like ) and play with Jude til 8. Then get up and by the time I've changed him, myself and made porridge, we usually have breakfast between 8.30 and 9. I'm lazy and so not a morning person. When I was working (Jude was between 5 and 8 months old) I didn't have trouble getting up early. But without someone else structuring my day for me....... if I don't actually have to be anywhere- 8am it is. I feel lazy admitting that! But oh well

Jaycee and MissAngel I wish I could be more like you....I would love to be able to get up earlier, have my shower, have a coffee and do the washing before my daughter wakes up but unfortunately I use her as my alarm clock which can't be snoozed !
I'm kinda glad there are other mums out there who get up later than 6 or 7...makes me feel better
My partner tried to get me up earlier the other day by turning on all the lights in the room after he had a shower at 6 and said I should start getting more organised like other mums! hahaha I was never a morning person before I had Isabella and I STILL am not!
Stefany3, Isabella used to sleep in on Sundays It was soooo WEIRD! That was when she was about 6 months old and USED to wake up at 7am during the week.... My partner and I were so proud hahaha now it's just 8am everyday. Now on Sundays I bring her into our room and she continues to sleep for a bit longer or she talks to the cats at the bottom of our bed till my partner gets up.
Eeeeek! 11.00!? Better go have a shower!

Well after this thread yesterday I was inspired to get up earlier to have my coffee & shower in peace.
Apparently my kids are psychic however as they were awake before I got out of bed and my shower still consisted of 2 toddlers banging on the glass door

DS wakes at 6am so no chance of a sleep in here and I aint getting up earlier!!!!
On saturdays I get a sleep in and I get up anytime between 8am and 10am (DH has his on sundays) and during the week since I have been pg we take it in turns of getting up with him at 6am while the other one stays in bed until 7am....
Before I got pg I slept until Jake did normally as he is not a great sleeper and I did 90% of the settling at night... DH knows I cant sleep during the day so he would be very quiet not to wake us. It was nice on the random days where he would sleep 7pm until 8am without waking and DH didnt know because he often doesnt hear him!
I think in a few years I will be like Jazzy... up early so the morning isnt complete madness!

The school holidays are the best..I wake up when DS does and then go back to bed after his feed at around 6am but I always wait for him to wake up first...but since I'm a teacher, during term time I have to be up by 6am anyway..lol...

ha ha..it still is in my house if I don't have things organised & I find it hard to get up before the kids at 6am
I am waiting for the weekends where my kids can organise themselves...dreaming
I usually get asleep in on my b'day...but did not this yr, last Sunday due to DH's work...but now I find myself not able to sleep in & maybe it is because of the b/rooms being downstairs & the kids sounding like a derailed freight train upstairs..hmm wonder how DH manages it...wax I bet, ha ha
My advise to anyone with a little one that sleeps during the day, take advantage of it...my last one was when DS2 had a nap in the afternoon & DS3 had one in the morning & afternoon....OMG that hr was the best...

I don't get up until the youngest gets up. Playgroups and things don't start until 10am anyway so I don't need to rush around getting out the door early.

I sleep as long as I can. I find it hard to unwind at night so it takes ages to get to sleep. So often it's about 6 hours by the time DD wants to get up again. She's up around 7.30 often. In weekends we both sleep as much as we can. We each get a morning of not having to move to get her bottle and breakfast. We used to lie-in to lunchtime, bringing her into bed with us to feed her then play a bit (pat the cat and dog) then back to her cot again.

I'm SO not a morning person! Unfortunately it would appear DS is and there is no need for an alarm clock in this house! DH gets him up when he wakes usually around 6am and brings him to me to feed in bed that way I can buy myself another 40mins or so or if I'm really lucky and DH doesn't have to rush off to work, he gets him breakfast and I don't have to get up until 7.30am when DH goes to work

Wow, all you mummies that get up when bubs does - how do you have a shower/get ready? Do you have it when bubs goes down for their morning nap - or how do you keep them occupied/entertained? - how does it work - I need to learn!!

Since DS is such an early riser there was no way I was getting up any earlier to have a shower. When he was little I would put him in the bouncer on the bathroom floor while I showered. When he got older I would drag the exersaucer in! Once he outgrew that I had to wait until he went down for his morning sleep, so that meant staying in my PJ's until around 9am.

I get up at 6am every week day morning - H is up between 6.30am and 7am. I need that half an hour to have a shower and get dressed in peace! And have breakfast and just generally get myself organised for the day. Days where he is up early I am a total mess!
Weekends he comes into bed with us and we generally take it much easier

We are super lucky (IMO) as once DS wakes up he doesnt actually get out of bed, but generally waits for one of us to go in and get him. He wakes about 6.30, but we get up at 7 and one of us will get him up whilst the other is in the shower. On a weekend he sometimes sleeps in until 8ish, and we take it in turns to get up early, one of us gets Sat morning sleep in and one gets Sunday morning!

If I'm not up at the gym then I'll usually sleep in until our Son wakes up, which is usually around 6.30'ish, but he'll stay in his cot until 7am. If he wakes before 7am he'll play happily in his cot until we get him.
When he was a newborn I would sleep in until he woke up, which could sometimes be 9am (he would have woken around 4am for feed, change etc). Oh I loved those early days . Now if I need to I'll nap when he does but lately I don't seem to be able to sleep, but lazing on the couch is just as good (slack I know :o)).

On weekdays, I get up at 6am to have a shower and get organised for the day. DH also gets up at this time so we can have a cuppa and breakky together before he leaves for work at 7.30am.
DS wakes anywhere between 6.15-7am but happily talks away to himself until one of us goes in for him around 7ish.
On the weekends though, we don't get up until DS wakes and then at 7am-ish again we go and get him and take him back into our bed and feed him and watch TV or read the paper etc.
I am a bit of an organisational freak so pack any bags we may need the night before so I can relax in the mornings and just get ready.
Edited for spelling

amykt- I shower when she goes down for a nap....only thing is she has been pushing her naps back lately so I end up not showering till midday!
When we have an appointment to go to in the morning I am a mess! and it always seems like she eats her breakfast EXTRA slow!! then I put an Elmo DVD on for her while I go quickly have a shower... so we are basically running out the door 5 minutes before I am suppose to be where I am going...which is NOT a 5 min drive away!
Oh how I wish I could be organised... well...just be able to get up atleast 45 min before she wakes up.... I just have no will power to do so
