Food has been really bad the last couple of days and we ordered pizza on Saturday as we couldn't be bothered with dinner Last night I did 10 mins on the vibratrain so at least that was something since the weather has been so crap lately.

Hey ladies... since you've moved I thought its about time I joined and got my butt into gear. I've got our next FA appointment early Dec and I need to drop at least 13kg I think    Will weigh myself in the morning and get added to the list.

Hi Jazzy **waves**

Kiwigal are those vibratrains any good?   I've been thinking about buying something for home to do in the evenings/weekends.

Hi girls

It's about time I joined the weightloss thread again.  I got down to 54kgs at the start of winter but illnesses, work, tiredness and various other excuses have seen me back up to 58kgs so I decided to put some serious time and effort back into my body.  I just started in earnest last week and was down to 56.5kj on Friday morning but that was doomed as I had a dessert evening/baby shower on Saturday night.  Not to worry though, my aim last week was to lose 1kg and I achieved that

Now I'm logging off so I can put on another load of washing then do some weights before bed.

Wantabub you can do it & you will get the magic pills

Just rang them & asked for a refund grr as they said it will take at least 10+ days to send a new one now. So will get it from the warehouse if I still want it but not the delux one...so now have to wait about 5 days for a refund, what's the bet that takes forever.

I need to work out a new eating plan...so hard sometimes

The Zumba one I wanted was the delux set that is not at the shops but might get the basic one on off TM.

Well I went into the gym today to get my body for life program - and it's safe to say it is going to be the death of me!! Think it's going to bring a whole new meaning to no pain no gain!!
The instructor was laughing at me, with my lack of upper body strength...(not in a nasty way)

monkeys my partner and I did body for life years ago - waaay pre kids - it was great! I loved getting up and going to the gym every day - didn't love the food much though but it wasn't too bad! Good luck!!

I made some tabuleh last night -- soooo yummy! Had some leftovers for lunch today and it is repeating on me like no ones business - it's actually painful!! Wonder why it is doing that now and didn't last night.... not nice!!

Feeling a LOT better today :-) Woohoo! :)

What do you do on the body for life program??

DS3 made me carry him today he is about 22kg, around what I have lost this year...& I struggled how ever did I manage...wonder what it will feel like when I lose another 20+kgs

Date Posted: 08 September 2010 at 3:53pm
good to see you are getting better Alex hope the rest of you that are sick get better soon As DH often points out...I have not been sick this yr....yeah right I have not had the MAN FLU & I have kids to look after

Posted By: oscarboo
Date Posted: 08 September 2010 at 7:59pm
I was awake early enough to do heaps of exercise this morning but didn't get the chance cos I was busy trying to get one very tired child back to sleep! Something woke her at 4.40 and she never really went back to sleep after that so I was busy with her and DH got to carry on sleeping.

I often wonder the same thing Jazzy. I have lost almost 20kg since having Gracie and even carrying around her 11 odd kgs seems like hard work, really don't know how I had the energy to keep running after the kids at work.

Hope everyone that has been sick is starting to get better. I have been the lucky one in this house with everyone else getting sick and me being pretty good.

The alarm is set and I WILL be getting up tomorrow morning to do the Wii!!!

That's funny.  I felt like I had more energy and strength to carry around the kids after losing 10kgs.  For me it had to do with muscle tone though (i.e. when I was heavier I had very little muscle tone).

I started the C25k programme again today.  I made it to 7 weeks by the beginning of winter but childcare and work commitments + bad weather conspired and I didn't finish it and eventually stopped running so I decided to start again from day 1 week 1.  From a cardio point of view it was too easy today but because I did weights on Monday night my muscles were beginning to curse me by the end of the workout.  It doesn't help that my warm down always includes stairs and a steep hill (to get me home).  I'm going to do day 2 on Saturday and then figure out when I can fit in day 3 and in the meantime I have another weights session on Friday (although I may move it to tomorrow depending on how I feel).

James (and anyone else feeling ill) I hope you feel better soon.  Sounds like you need to rest up to avoid getting any worse.  Don't feel bad about not exercising, just try to eat well and drink lots of water.

Hey, I'll jump back on the list, I'm currently around 92kgs (pretty steady unfortunately) "short" term goal is to be 80kgs by the time my bubby is 9 mths, 9mths on 9mths off :P So January. And long term goal is to get to around 65-70kgs as thats my usually healthy weight.

I'm a bit annoyed actually as I've normally never had any trouble with weight and fitness :(

Oh I got Zumba for my Birthday so just learning and enjoying that, just need to do more often. Babies are just so tiring!!!

oscarboo I have tried several times to do exercise in the mornings but it never happens. The kids get up at 6am but the youngest has been getting up several times during the night to turn on the hall light that shines straight into our bedroom so have been getting broken sleep. Then DH leaves about 6.30. I am so looking forward to day light savings as I can go walking at night again

Jazzy I prefer night exercise too - I never used to - I used to be up and off every morning but that was all pre-kids... my kids get up so early anyway they are too hard to beat!

Still pretty crook here - went downhill last night and was in bed by 6 so I just need to see how I am later for training... I miss it so much when I cant go but I also dont want to die or pass my germs around to everyone else....

Yeah, I'm finding it really hard to find the time to exercise at the moment. I have been getting up at 5.30 and that works well. I don't mind if G get up while I am still doing it as normally she is too busy watching all the characters on the wii. I find by the time I get home in the afternoon, cook tea and do the jobs I just can't be bothered. Perhaps I will have to start making a deal with myself that if it doesn't get done in the morning I do it that night instead. I usually try to either do zumba or walk at the weekend as well. Can't wait for daylight savings as walking in the evenings is good. Just heard today my Zumba should be coming next week!

As I write this, I am snacking from a party bucket of Maltesers... (They were a gift, I didn't buy them for myself. I promise.)

Hubby and I have been TTC for over two years now. Fertility specialist has said he'll put me on Clomid when I lose 10kg.

In the last 6 weeks I have lost 5.5kg, through watching what I'm eating, cutting out the crap. I still have treats now and then, I just have to watch my daily calorie intake. I have started going to the gym, I'm also doing acupuncture and will be starting yoga soon.

I want to get down to my target weight, not just to be put on Clomid, but for myself. I know I can do it :)

I started at 88kg, I am now down to 82.5kg. Hoping to get down to 60kg. Feels like it'll be a long road ahead, but I am motivated!

Jazzy - Body for life is a 12 week intensive program, gym based, where you go 6 days a week, 2 cardio, 2 upper body, and 2 lower body workouts a week (alternated) and of course the eating plan.
Going to be tough but some of the results are amazing!! Do a google search.
Not quite sure how I am going to cope though, considering I got my program on Wednesday, and so wasn't a complete work out and I am still in agony in my upper body!! Oh well what is that saying I hate - no pain no gain!! I will put my weekly progress weight up on Sunday, as I am going away for a work conference from Sun - Thurs, so won' tget the chance.

Ahh I am still full of snot! Went to training last night though and it was a good thing there wasn't mch cardio as I would have died but it was all upper body weights - bliss - I love doing weights :)

Monkys - hope you enjoy your programme - just as well you have seperate days for legs/arms/cardio so you will get to rest your sore muscles.

Kelzie_Rose - put down the maltesers lol - glad you are here - hope that our little group can help you achieve your goal.

My PT (aka my mum!) is moving away at the end of next month :( :( I will probably join a gym then... won't be the same though.

Hi lovely ladies, would you mind if I join this thread?  I'm Tanya and currently weigh 86.7kgs (up a whole kg from last week - WTF, but do have AF so not sure if that makes a diff)??

My goal weight is 65kgs.  I gym pretty much 6 days per week in the mornings (5.45am classes) so I don't lack motivation, I just can't seem to get my eating under control.

When do you weigh-in and do you update the lists individually?  I'm not sure how to update.

Thanks

So nice to see our group expanding!

Good luck tomorrow Eva - glad to hear you are feeling better - how did you find your eating with the flu? It's a bit hard when you are sick to be bothered with counting your points!

I was on WW but ran out of time to go to my meetings but it really helped - I think I might follow it again either by myself or online - its a great way to keep track of what you are eating.

I have eaten no crap today . That would be the first day in a while this has happened. Have exercised the last two days as well. Have thought about joining the gym but just the thought makes me feel ill and think well I will just stay the way I am.

Body for life sounds great but hard out!

Hope everyone has a good weekend. Baking tomorrow for DH so that will be the test as to how strong my will power is

Hi ladies,

I'm going to join in here too as another place to be accountable along this journey. My 2 biggest problems at the moment are

  • Eating too much at dinner (usually end up having a 2nd helping after feeding Noah)
  • Lack of exercise!

I've started counting points with the extra allowance for BF and have gone over 3 days in a row and it's always at dinner that I have a blowout so that's something I need to work on!

75kg is my first goal but ultimately I want to get down to about 60...possibly late 50's.

Welcome Dziner Girl.  It's been ages since we've been in a thread together

Overeating is my issue too.  I eat fairly well with heaps of healthy choices and few treats but I started a Feminine Fitness File a couple of weeks ago and found out I was eating an extra 300-500 calories each day

Keeping track of my food intake helps heaps but I've had a bit of a tumultuous week and haven't filled in the pages properly because I know my eating has not been the best (actually the eating's not been too bad... it's the 2 bottles of wine I've drank this week that aren't helping).  So my aim from today onwards is to fill in the FFF properly.

As soon as DH wakes up this morning I'm off for a run - day 2 of week 1 on C25k.

You are lucky jazzy! Everytime I mention to DH about weight loss etc I get but you are fine as you are and you can't deprive yourself so I eat up doing it on my own. He has agreed to help out with the exercise as soon as he is off the crutches and can walk again.

Day 2 of eating heaps better and no crap again. Still have to bake but will be doing my best for no picking at it as I want a loss this week after gains for the last two!

Welcome dziner girl.

Yeah I didn't really count points or anything whilst with the flu....and it didn't help that the household got takeaways a couple of times. I definitely overeat...need to get back to drinking water with my meals as I find this helps full my tummy abit more. Dinner is the one meal of the day that can stuff me up...everything else is fine. Anywhos MIL is renting a treadmill that's gonna be coming end of next week so will be good to use that when I can't make it to the gym (which has been like months!!)...

Did well not eating while baking this morning. Only has a little lick of the marshmellow I was making. Haven't had any of the choc-chip biscuits I made even when they were out for morning tea! Yay, I can do it and resist temptation (well for day anyway).

Yay for having a treadmill to use Eva. Would love to get either one of them or a rowing machine but out house is far to small. there is just nowhere one could be stored (or used for that matter)

I haven't weighed myself in a while now. I am going to do so next week once life settles down again.

I am also going to quit smoking soon, if I so that then I can go to the gym when Configure Express opens up in Palmy. I am sure that will help with the weightloss.

I measured myself yesterday too though and got a bit bummed out.  I have lost 4cms around my breasts and only 1-2cms elsewhere  I don't see why I can't keep a DD cup and just lose the weight on my waist/hips/thighs etc.

Jazzy housework is still good exercise :-)

KarenMae - lucky it is only a teeny gain - you will lose that this week - hope you feel better!

James - yep weigh day today!

MrsMojo - bummer about the big loss on the chest!! That's where I want to lose though and at my last measurements that was the only area that went up! It did coincide with the start of AF so that must have been why but was pretty hilarious!

Hi everyone and welcome DzinerGirl & NovemberMum.

I forgot to weigh myself this morning at the gym, so if its ok I'll do my weigh in tomorrow and post early morn?  I do have scales here but they are not electronic like the ones at the gym so won't be able to get an accurate amount.

I had a super good this weekend with my eating (didn't eat a few large bags of chips, yes that's right, oink oink) and only had two vodka drinks on Fri and one on Sat (also very good for me as I have been drinking far too much wine lately).  So hopefully this means a loss, we'll see tomoz.

I did two classes this morning, boxing and kickboxing but unfortunately landed right on my tailbone during kickboxing so I'm hoping I haven't injured myself too badly.  At the moment it feels fine, but I'm aware things could start hurting later.  FX I'll be ok!!

Congrats to those who lost, you are my inspiration

Down 500g this week so suppose that is in the right direction. Eating has been great but a little slack in the exercise front. With my measurements I have lost a little off my waist and hips but NOTHING off my bust. It doesn't seem to want to go from there at all.

Yay for all the other losses.

Hope the tailbone is okay and the sore hip . We don't need any injuries at the moment.

I hear you on the food thing jazzy. Hoping it will settle down in the next couple of days. Turned down banana cake this morning which I am very happy about.

eta - brain not working properly!!

Yay, I have lost 1.7kgs since my last weigh-in on Thurs.  I think this just goes to show how much crap I used to eat over the weekends!!  So not fair tho, I LOVE chips!  I also had AF when I last weighed and they are gone now.  Does it really have that much impact with our weight?

Luckily my back/tailbone didn't hurt this morning so was able to make it to ABT.  I would have been so annoyed if it was sore as I've really had too many injuries this year!!

I made a spag bol the other night for dinner and instead of having pasta with mine I just baked a sweet potato and had a scoop of mince with that and some mixed veg.  It was still super tasty and I didn't miss the pasta.  I guess small changes like that will help

Do you think its realistic to be able to lose 10kgs by mid November?  Am I dreaming thinking its a goal I can reach?  We plan on ttc baby number 2 in Nov and I'd like to lose 10kgs more.

I think you can lose a kg a week if you try hard & stay focused. I sabotage myself easy & let others do it also. I know I can lose a good amount weekly if I try.

I did Jenny Craig & was looosing 1kg+ as week, I went walking everyday & never ate anthing I was not alowed which I think is the key thing.

Eat right & exercise its so simple in theory but sometimes hard in practice.

You can do the 10kg! Its really easy to stay motivated if you have some goals and rewards. Goals is easy but you gotta find some kind of reward that you really want. Its much easier to find motivation when you have some juicy carrot dangling in front of you.
