For the last couple of feeds I haven't been able to really get Erin to burp, she'll take anywhere between 120-150mls (the usual), but then I'll spend forever burping her and get nothing ! Tried all the different positions I could think of this morning, and still nothing. It doesn't seem to be bothering her, and I did give her some gripe water as well to try and bring any wind up that might have been in there. I mean, like I said it doesn't seem to be bothering her, she has gone to sleep without much trouble... so is there any cause for worry? She normally gives us HUGE burps, which is why I was a bit concerned.

Ashlee almost never burps!! I don't know if that's because she's not bottle-fed, but I'm sure it wouldn't really make a difference? Maybe she's getting more efficient with her sucking?
Apparently, if they don't burp after 5mins, they're not going to and the gas (if any) has progressed to their gut (not really too sure how true that is!!)

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a timing thing to it... but she almost always burps "better" for her Daddy anyway, oddly enough !

PS sometimes it can take ella a good 10 mins to bring up her wind when i have her sitting and im patting her back (find that the most effective position) and they are violent burps.

I wish I could get Blake to bring up his wind. He is useless!! It travels down and gets stuck in his wee tum and that when we get all the straining and unrest at night apparently! It will happen he is still little!

Caitlin likes to hold on to her gas too. No one told her about that 5 minute rule She'll wait until my arm is about to drop off before she lets out a really decent burp. She's a real little lady when she wakes up from her naps - legs in the air... farting away! ahh I'm so proud LOL

yeah I second the infacol, unfortuantely though there is a nation wide shortage and even the manufacturer has gone out of stock so if you see it anywhere i would buy it!

I think gripe water might be on my list to get Michael does not havethat muh trouble, but anything to make it easier on him. He is having trouble pooping he is going at least twice a day, but it seem's to be a huge deal.

Gripe waster is good too, I found it more useful for Olivia's sore tummy when she was teething, but the results of her burping faster and more often were with the infacol. Can't beat the good old gripe water!

After weeks on end of 7pm-11pm screaming sessions and a whole bottle of gripe water we bought some Infacol and also changed to formula - Caitlin has never been better! Much happier settled bubba (thanks for the warning about the smelly nappys Jax lol)

I had a visit from the Karitane nurse when Olivia was about 7 weeks old and she gave me some good "winding style" tips like holding bubbah teddy bear styles and gently squeezing (slow way of making any extra air move) or put baby in between your knees and gently rubbing its back. Or even better, just dodge responsibility and get hubby to do it because men are naturally more forceful.
