So after having no issues with my first pregnancy, this one is a pain, literally! I have been having back and hip pain from about 24 weeks and have started seeing a physio who thinks I have an unstable pelvis and a disc derangement. The pain is pretty debilitating, I can hardly walk most of the time and not supposed to be doing any lifting or bending which is impossible with a toddler around.

Has anyone had this and did it go away after baby was born? How long did it take? Did it affect your labour and birth at all?

I had SPD from 8 weeks and sciatica on top of that in my 3rd trimester - for the last 6 weeks or so I was on crutches, and with an active preschooler already it made life pretty challenging. That said, I found a combination of things helpful in managing it - family / friends for support, regular physio, swimming when I could, and occasional acupuncture and osteopathy as well.

Yes it went away after baby was born, although not straight away - maybe a good 4 months before things started to feel more "normal".

It didn't affect my labour or birth at all as I was focused on managing through my contractions etc, and DD2 was in too much of a hurry anyway (labour was less than 2hrs).

I have the most insanely painful sciatica, ever.

I havent worked out how to handle it, but if i can work it out i'll come back and tell you! you're not alone. My hips are mental as well - i can't imagine what the pain will be like at full term.

I 've had SPD and sciatic nerve trouble since 12 weeks this time.I went to an osteo for quite a while which helped, but then it got worse.
My midwife referred me to the hospital pyshio who gave me a tubi grip support and crutches.
Was also referred to the pain management team at the hospital who have given me pain relief which at least helps me sleep of a night.

Have a talk to your midwife and see what she recommends.

I did have the same problem with #1 but not as bad.It didnt affect the labour and the pain went away pretty much as soon as I had bubs.
