Might as well kick this topic off huh!

I'm first time pregnant with fraternal boy/girl twins.

DH & I had been trying for nearly 4 yrs to get preggers & we were sitting in an IVF clinic 10 days before getting our BFP - so lucky we didn't have to start the treatments!!!!

We feel truly blessed to be here finally...

After so long you get double the trouble and joy!

(Just me but I thought it was a bit lonely with just you :D)

Hi Ladies

Well after 4 years of TTC we are finally pregnant with twins. A liitle bit of a shock as we only implanted 1 egg. Now I am freaking out though as they are talking about complications with monochorionic twins, its loks like we have 2 amniotic sacs but one placenta and I have no idea what this all means. Apparently slightly higher risk but the more i read the more confused i get.

Any advice greatly received.

Hi Henny Penny

Congratulations. My boys were monochorionic - 2 sacks and they shared a placenta. yes it is sightlier riskier as they are Identical twins and can get twin to twin transfusion in the womb, but the doctors monitor for this and it doesn't happen to everyone

Where in NZ are you?

Hi hennypenny & congratulations doll! What a journey huh!

I'm in Aucks too (Clevedon/Papakura area) & currently 26.5 weeks pregnant with fraternal boy/girl twins.

How far are along are you???

Have you joined any of the 4 Auckland Multiple Birth Clubs (they are on Facebook too) as they are really helpful & we're halfway (2 of 4 Sat arvos) through multiple antenatal classes with 13 other twin mums-to-be & 1 mum-to-be of triplets & finding that fantastic. If you want details PM me! Oh yeah, 3 of the twin mums-to-be are IVFers too!

Will look up the multiple birth groups, still having moments when I forget that we are actually having 2 :-)

Cool HennyPenny, we found out we were having twins at 8 weeks. I didn't know whether to laugh or not, but I did for weeks. It didn't seem real!!

If you are in west Auckland, then our local MBC is Waitakere (that's the one I am in)

If you need to know more information though like Wannabe said, just PM us!

Hi Ladies

been a real roller coaster for us, we have had 2 major bleeds and I have been diagnosed with sub chorionic hemorrhage. We had an acute scan and both babies good heartbeat etc though one is 12mm smaller than the other. Should i be overly concerned with this, to be honest I was just so relieved there were still 2 little babies I didnt really take much more info in.

Posted By: lisa85
Date Posted: 19 October 2010 at 7:49am
Hennypenny I don't have much in advice other than rest up and take it easy. I can't imagine how scary the bleeds must have been for you! I guess in situations like these all you can really do is try to keep up the power of positive thinking xxx Keep us updated

Hi every one stupid question here but how do you PM someone??? I would like to find out form wannabe or someone else about the antenatal classes for couples having multiples. When I read that they went to some on the Saturday I became interested. I would be able to take my partner along then.

click PM on wannabe's post.
If you are in Auckland then MAMA do twin antenatal classes

Henny Penny - re size, no, don't worry. Your doctors will keep their eyes on growth, 1.2cm is OK

Hi,
I am expecting identical twin boys (di-amniotic monochorionic pregnancy) in March next year. Just thought I'd pop in. I'm in Hamilton.

Hi & welcome Janine to a fantastic adventure! Looking forwards to getting to know you along the way.

We're having DC/DA fraternal boy/girl twins and it's been quite a ride so far - I'm 29 weeks tomorrow.

hennypenny:
Sorry I wanted to reply sooner but had to go back through all our scan reports to make sure we had the same thing.

OK, at our 12wk ultrasound & nuchal scans they discovered two areas of subchorionic haemorrhaging: one by the dividing membrane measuring 4.9cm x 1.6cm x 4.1cm (with 17mls of fluid) and another inferior to one of the twins gestational sac measuring 5.3cm x 1.1 cm x 4cm (?mls fluid).

Prior to this scan I had had several light bleeds. My Obstetrician did a quick portable fuzzy scan each week from week 8 to 14 to check that there were still two heartbeats and movements but did not pick up the haemorrhages. I was put on house arrest from week 8 to week 15 & advised NOT to do ANYTHING involving lifting, pushing, or straining (including going to the toilet!). Kinda hard when I was so constipated anyway - sorry to much info!

Anyhoo - I rested up, with great difficulty & the bleeding stopped a week or two later, & I was cleared to go back on light duties with no stress (kinda hard when you're a relief teacher).

By the time we had our 20 wk scans there were no trace of the haemorrhages so I must have done something right!

I hope you have the same positive outcome hennypenny!

Sizes:
Twin 1 (boy) has aways measured slightly bigger than Twin 2 (girl) & at our 26 week growth scan he is almost 110gms heavier (960grams) so we are now on 2 weekly growth scans to make sure she is still growing. She sure does wriggle/kick ALOT more than him so maybe she's burning more calories

Next growth scan is tomorrow so I'll let you know how they are growing.

Thanks Wannabe good to hear I am not alone. Am seeing the specialist on Friday and have not had any bleeding now for a week. We are also having 2 week growth scans.

welcome Janine snap on the di amniotic monochorionic though as yet we dont know if boys or girls. We are due beginning of April so not far behind you. We are based in Auckland.

Hello ladies!

Back from our 29wk growth scans.

Good news is she is only 70gms smaller than him now - 3 weeks ago she was 110gms behind. He is still breech on the left & she's still transverse & sitting on his head!

Weights:
He is 1370gms but has dropped from 80th percentile to 50th for his abdominal circumference.
She is 1300gms and has dropped from 50th percentile to 25th for her abdominal circumference.

I've just googled average gestational weights for twins (there are none), & for singles. At 29 wks they should be around 1150-1260gms so I feel relieved that I haven't been starving them - although my appetite has dropped right off & I get fuller much quicker now.

Right off to have a lay down - I can hardly keep my eyes open as had a real crap sleep last night.

Welcome MomoMum & bubsy!!!
Goodness bubsy you are going to be one busy lady. I think its great they'll all be close in age when they are older.

hennypenny - how is everything going with you doll???

Our twins are 8 weeks old now (born 5 weeks prem) & we started them on the "Save Our Sleep" routine last Friday when they both weighed in just over 3kgs so didn't need 3 hourly feeds anymore - yay!). It took 5 nights & they have slept from 10.30pm-7am for 4 nights in a row now - whoop whoop! I still have to get up at 3.30am to express but Dr 90210 entertains me for half an hour    In a week we'll trial the next routine of 7pm-7am with a 10pm dreamfeed.

They are such good babies even tho the boy has a bit of reflux & can get really upset from the pain. Poor little man!

Hi wannabe

Al going well with me, we are now almost 30 weeks and I finish work next week. We have been discahrged from the high risk fetal medicine clinic as both boys are growing and measuring great weights for gestation so all good. Looking forward to finishing work and hopefully putting my feet up for a few weeks. The humidity has been horrid to deal with. Feel relatively organised and looking forward to the arrival of family from the UK to lend a helping hand atround the house.

Welcome bubsy - I am in Mt Eden too :-)

LOL 3 is my magic number too Although if I got another set of twins I certainly wouldn't complain. At least this time round I would know what I'm doing But I am very much looking forward to seeing what having one bubs to dote on is like. I was kind of thrown in the deep end with the girls. It was all a bit like being on auto pilot for the first few months. I was so lost being a first time Mum and having two This time around I'm hoping to spend a little more time drinking in all those amazing little newborn moments.

Have you told your son he's going to be a big brother yet?

I actually never joined the multiples group. As there weren't any close to where I was living at the time so I just went with a normal coffee group. I did enquire about it in the beginning though.
Here's the link to the CMBC website http://www.cmbc.co.nz/ it has all the contact details. You should ask them about multiple antenatal classes as well. Even if you've done antenatal classes with your son I've heard it's quite worth while. I never got to do it though as they only run it depending on how many women they have interested. So it always pays to ask if they have one coming up :)
Are you planning on trying for a natural birth or are you thinking of going for the c-section?

I could see two babies straight away before anyone said anything I still remember every moment and every feeling. Was your partner with you when you found out?

By the way ladies feel free to join us in the twins, triplets or more thread. Thanks Lisa85 & minik8e, the shock wore off after a couple of days and we are just so so excited to be having twins. I still can’t believe Im finally pregnant! Yeah my DH was with me when we found out, he wasn’t overly shocked as we knew there could be a chance of twins (we’d been on fertility drugs) and I’d had a couple of dreams about twins ( a boy and girl, I wonder if that will come true too). Thanks Lisa I might pop on over to the twins, triplets or more thread shortly.

Hi Domestic Engineer and welcome to OB, Im so very sorry to hear about wee Benjamin. All the best with TTC!

Springtime Fashion Trends for people

Actually there are lots of designs to wear for the people and some of the time it is pretty hard to select a design in just a single season. Fashion Designing is an art whereby which you create new clothes that people would wear and look even more beautiful. The fashion designers industry over the years has made tremendous improvements in the way we look. Thus, with this industry millions of dollars are involved.

People are very fond of dressing and fashion mostly the women are extra crazy about new styles and matching dresses. Those who wish to become a part of this industry have to developed great capabilities so as to be able to a make living out of it. It's not a business that you should take for granted but it requires you to work day and night, and the end result with bring you a lot of money and popularity.
Fall of fashion trends with the desires
Sometimes fashion relates with the demand of the people and designer select the ideas for making some best designs for people according to their desires. Everybody wants to look pretty.
