I have a gas heater on most of the time these days since its so cold and Zaara is fine. She was born in summer so never used it when she was tiny. I know some people keep a bowl of water infront of the heater to suck up extra CO2...OR some thing!!!

my hubby always has the windows open a crack, so the air can circulate still.

yea, my mum always said to make sure i have a couple of windows open, just a crack because her friend used to have the gas heater going all winter because they didn't have a fire and her son actually got respiratory problems because some fungus started growing on his lungs. sounds pretty gruesome so i always make sure the room is well ventilated when the gas heaters going.

We have one!! Yea i agree with maybe keeping a window or two open a crack but the house should not smell of gas unless there is something wrong with the heater.

I use a gas heater without any problems. Rather than opening windows a crack when you have it on here is a tip: Put a bowl of water on top of it.
Don't ask me how it works but somehow the bowl of water stops that gassy smell.

We alway have a window open a wee bit as the tv aeril(sp?) goes through it. It work's well for us I guess hte reality is it is really important to keep you house as warm as possible and if you not have a fire then gas is the next best thing electric is waaaaaay!!!! too expensive.

It's the smell of the gas that is burning away and making the stink, mine does it too, I ventilate for the first 10 mins then shut the doors. I have never used a bowl of water but I'll start giving that a go as well because some days it's worse than others when I have to flick the flint more than once.
