I've searched the board and I can't find any May mum's topic so I thought that I would start my own.
It's always good to talk to other mum's that have babies going through the same stages as your own!
Maybe if any other May Mum's out there want to come play?
Baby: Olivia Caitlin
DOB: 12.5.2006
Currently likes: Baby Gym, Jolly Jumper.
Currently dislikes: People that she doesn't know woohoo she's starting to have a preference!
Current Phase: Gah teething! Early teeth which means one grumpy baby when she has been up for too long!

Hi there I have a May baby too - Joshua Hadynn born 3/5/06. Currently likes the same things as your wee girl, and dislikes... well, not much really! Joshie is also beginning to get the starting signs of teething, lots of drool everywhere.... NICE

Hehe, 2 boys!
What's the age difference like? I was wondering as me and DH were going to leave a bit of time between births so that the kid's can have a better relationship with us and their siblings, and also we can give them more one on one time.

Would you believe it? It was my day of action, vacuuming, doing the laundry and changing the linen on the bed, I was so stoked to see the sun this morning, I even took Olivia outside to have a little sunbathe. But dammit all it's clouded over! I bet its going to rain too! If we had butter I would do something constructive like bake but OH WELL it must be time to chat online!

She hates it, but she at least tries to roll off her tummy which is good progress, I don't like the fact that she hold her head up too high when she rolls, first time she landed heavily and gave me such a fright.

Joshie hates tummy time too. Although the past couple of days have been quite good as I have been down on the floor with him, showing him books which keeps him really happy. He's not too into rolling yet though. Happily rolls from his back to his side, but is a bit lazy with rolling really. He's been through a massive growth spurt during the past week. I measured his length today, and got the fright of my life at he is 70cm's long!!! Off the Plunket chart for his age. Looks like I have a giant bubba on my hands!!

OMG HAHA, what in the heck are you feeding him!! My gf has a little girl who is off the charts as well, she's about the size of a 1 year old and is only 6 months old, I was so taken aback by her size I said "Is she standing yet?" I got a dirty look and a "No, she's only 6 months" I'm such an idiot! She was a gorgeous bubbah though, nice olive skin like her daddy!
Books is a great idea for tummy time, I have a few toys to wash yet, and I think some of them are those fabric books. I do get on the floor with her but it never makes much of a difference, I need to be goddam interesting!

I know!! He's exclusively bf, and neither me nor my partner are really tall although there are very tall people in both of our families so perhaps he's a throw back I'm really crap at knowing babies ages too. I've got a lot to learn!! Meant to say in my last post - I'm in Auckland. Where are you girls from? Did you have the birth you were hoping for?? I ended up having a c-section after a long labour that didn't progress too well. I was induced as my wee boy was two weeks late, which was a bummer. He was facing up instead of down, and just wouldn't come out!! I really wanted a drug-free birth, using water for pain relief, but alas after 18 hours of labour - drug free - I was just too exhausted so had an epidural (aaaaah, the relief!!!) and then they decided that they'd best do the caesar. Joshua was born at 8.56am, 8lb 1oz and completely gorgeous (yup, biased ). I wasn't prepared for just how much I would love him - sometimes it just blows me away I bet you girls feel the same!!

I'm in New Plymouth, I had a cesaren as well, but it was elective due to breech presentation (glad I didn't find that out while I was in labour). I was pretty stoked with the whole process actually. I got my baby 5 days early and the op was a breeze. Olivia was 8lb 10oz, but that was because I had gestational diabetes as well. I actually had a pretty sucky pregnancy! I was so glad to hold her in my arms. I know what you mean when you say you can't ever imagine loving someone so much, I can't bear to be away from her at all, I've started back at work part time (every second weekend) and I just can't ring home or I want to go home, it's terrible! I would be very happy to be a SAHM.

I'm a SAHM mum at the moment, but not for too much longer. I've had a work opportunity come up which is just 3 days a week - 1 in the office and 2 at home, which is fabulous. Just waiting to hear when my start date is. I'm quite looking forward to it - will be nice to get out for a day. Wouldn't want to do it full time mind you - I would just hate leaving my wee man in daycare. His daddy will look after him when I am in the office so will get away with no daycare for a while longer yet.

I can't imagine leaving Olivia in daycare either Clare, theres a girl at my husbands work who went back to work when her babies were a couple of months old and a mojority of their day is in daycare. She says working is much easier than looking after the baby - sheesh. I don't think I could handle Olivia getting sick from other kids either. My ability to panic over nothing drives me nuts enough!
KiwiMummy, Olivia spent from 18 weeks till 39 weeks crashing into my cervix with her head (which felt like having electric shocks to my birth canal every hour or so), thats how they found out I was breeched, my midwife booked me into the OBGYN to have an ECV (turning it around in your tummy with a scanner and hands from the outside), but the Dr said that my tummy was too tight!
I love Napier, I have a friend called Simon Bingley who lives there now, hes a primary school teacher. I haven't been over in a few years. I love all that stuff to do along the shore!
Well it's another day, the sun is shining and I can see black clouds heading my way, thank God for a washing line in the garage or I would be screwed. And it's shopping day today! I make too much work for myself sometimes I think Time to stop making my post so long!

Bummer, I keep missing out on posting when you chicks are online! We just have the one laptop, and my partner works from home so either night or early in the morning are the only times I usually get online. Yes, we were due round the same time Kiwi Mummy!! I had my due date change round a couple of times, but I went with the 21st April, as that agreed with dates. I need to post a pic of Joshie, will take one tomorrow and post it. Had a crap day today - having a few issues round *money* at the moment, so had to sort some things out. Grrrr, wish I could just enjoy being home with my wee man.

Morning!!
Clare, hope you get the money stuff sorted soon!! We are doing ok at the moment but it means my DH works LONG hours and hardly gets to see the boys at the moment, cant have it all I guess! My dates with Leo were all over the place, started out at 27th, then the 23rd, then my 30 week scan said 8th April, thought he was going to be HUGE!!! My 5 year old was 9pd 10oz lol! Turned out Leo was a respectable 8pd 4 oz
Peace how did you go with the shopping?? I always say I will be organised with christmas but it never happens lol!! What are you both planning on buying for the little ones for xmas?? DH has said NO MORE TOYS lol since we have a houseful from my eldest but I thought of getting bubs a baby swing attachment for our swing set, which is not really a 'toy' and I'm sure he would love it!!
How are your babies going with naps?? Leo is a great night sleeper he sleeps from 6pm - 5-6 am (he always wakes between there to do a poo lol!) but during the day he is all over the place, with little cat naps every 2 hours or so for 45-60 mins. Not complaining though, he gives us a full nights sleep so I'm grateful!!
Right better go get something done have a good one!!

Well shopping yesterday was fun, I managed to blow only $30 instead of $50.
We're on a fortnightly budget and since my husband is an accountant, I let him deal with all our bills and what not, I'm a terrible bill payer, the type that leaves paying for stuff till the red letter comes in because I've blown my cash on something frivolous. Lucky we live in an older cheaper house or I would have the same issues as you Clare. We need to move though as this place has no insulation and we pay a fortune to keep the house heated, especially this winter with Olivia arriving (not that I would ever complain that, that is a waste of money).
For Olivia for christmas I already got her a CD and book with fairy tales($10) on it. It was something like what I used to have when I was a kid although we had it on vinyl rather than CD, that's for sure! I have also got one of those huggies cars on the way and I saw the COOLEST activity thingee($90), it's a truck but it's big and plastic and has a handle to make it into a walker and you can have the bubbah sit in it, it has an abacus and activity stuff on it and OMG very boyish, but I would have liked something cool like that as a kid. I'll have to put it on layby next week though, I just couldn't be frigged waiting in the Warehouse with a pram and a big plastic thing on a busy day.
I put some toys on lay away. Some lego for my nephew (6) and a fairy photo frame painting kit for my sister (7) and of course the cutest goddam pink velour tracksuit and a warm sweater for Olivia. Is it my imagination or is farmers getting less customers and cheaper products? I got about $55 worth of stuff but it seemed like more. Oh well their loss and my gain!
What about filling a stocking with rubbish from the $2 shop then getting them some clothes KM? Or maybe a family board game?
BOO I have a smear test this afternoon, that sucks the major big time fat one! I hate having them done as the last few I've had have all been irregular and it has been nothing, which nearly makes me cry because I've already had pre-cancerous cells removed when I was 18 (I definitely cried then). So not looking forward to that. I think I might have to go into my work this afternoon and get Sunday off as well. It's Dale's first fathers day and I doubt that he want's to come and see my dad's family but I could at least still make the effort!
Geeze this is a long post, God anyone would think I don't want to go do any chores Maybe I should just check and see what else is interesting online hehe!

Hi girls! Had a better day today Got some money things sorted, so that's a weight off my mind. Yay! Luckily my partner and I can discuss money issues rather than fight about them!
We have funny day sleeps as well with Joshie. He too is really good - sleeps from 5.30pm til around 6am. I get him up for a feed at about 9pm, but he generally doesn't even wake up, just feeds whilst asleep. But during the day.... he goes down for a sleep about an hour after he gets up, usually for an hour, but after that I'm lucky to get an hour tops! I keep persevering but I wish he would sleep a bit more during the day. He's such a delightful little boy though. Rarely cries, just smiles and chatters away all day. We are blessed Makes up for the hideous pregnancy!!!
Hey, either of you got an exersaucer? I'd looking to get one, so can you recommend which one to get??

Hi ladies, im technically a June mummy so thought I would jump in here. Good to hear you are all doing well with your babies. Im finding the time going soooo fast, I cant believe Addison is 9 weeks tomorrow. Clare we have an exersaucer and its great. I recommend on that has the three legs rather than rocking base because one leg stays still so they cant go anywhere but they can move around in circles, its really cool.

GOD I hate smear tests, unfortunately I have to have one every year, and while I was there, the nurse was trying to convince me that I should be on a yearly blood screening for diabetes. Great - just what I needed, more people poking and prodding!
I forgot to mention how long Olivia sleeps for, it's from about 8pm till around 7am (good hours thankfully), I'm just going to start getting her day sleeps into more of a routine, we just got her reflux looked into but she can normally sleep anywhere from 30 minutes to 4 hours!
(but the 4 hour sleeps are only for daddy).
I have a girlfriend who gives me great tips, she has the wonder baby (breastfed, sleeps all night, 2 hourly sleeps during the day, hardly ever grizzly.) So I'm going to start her regiment of leaving bubbah in bed for the 2 hours then getting her up for 2 hours, I feel some long days ahead!
I have a great excersaucer from evenflo Clare, it has all sorts on it, I'll take a picture for you tomorrow, it was bought for half price at farmers about 2 years ago. Luckily the friend I got it off rarely used it so it was in good condition when we got it when her son was too big for it(thank God for good friends that give you cool things)!
Welcome my2angels, I've seen that cute picture of Addison's bottom lip - very gorgeous!
Tomorrow is another day out, good God, I haven't been in all week My poor little mitten is going to be so exhausted when we get to the weekend, no wonder she sleeps so well for her daddy!

Hi everyone! I just found this thread so I hope you don't mind me joining in.
My second boy Blaire was born on the 1st of June. He will be 3 months old on Friday! Argh where has the time gone!
Blaire is such a good baby. He has been sleeping through the night since he was 6 weeks old & usually sleeps from 7pm - 7am now. He is smiling, laughing & making all the usual baby noises now and he has just started rolling from his tummy to his back.
Here is a pic of him:

I'd have a look on TM! I'll see if I can dig up a pic of it. I've never seen those moving ones before what a cool idea!!
Peace, loving the green threads! Olivia has those gorgeous chubby cheeks just like my boy There is no way I could get Leo to stay in bedo for 2 hours lol, burt he is now staying up for 2 hours at a time before he wants another nap

You chicks rock! thanks so much for posting those pics of your gooooooorgeous little ones having fun in their exersaucers. We're going to get one in the next couple of days - yay!! Hope you've all had a great day. We had my mum here for dinner tonight - a real treat as she lives in Wellington, and was up here for a meeting today so got a late flight home so she could spend the evening with us. I managed to keep Joshie up til 6pm so she got to have a big cuddle with him. We're going down there in the next week or two for a wee holiday (got airpoints to use up) so will be great to have her spend some time with him. Funniest thing happened tonight - Jono was giving Joshie his bath, and was letting him lie on his back with the water and he kept turning his head and trying to drink the water!!! He's so relaxed in the water it's amazing.

I do it accidentally a lot Clare and I know that Olivia is prime target or an outter ear infection, but she doesn't seem to care that much. I just make sure that the bath is rinsed out properly before I use it so the water is clean and her ears are dried properly afterwards. It's the best I can do when Olivia thrashes about like she does.

Gosh, times have changed.... used to be clothes and nights on the town that got me excited a year ago
How are your weekends going everyone? We have Jono's other two kiddies here this weekend, which is lovely. They are so fantastic with Joshie. He gets a bit upset when they make lots of noise though. Not used to it I guess.

Today just went so fast. I've started back at work again every other weekend, I work in palative care of the elderly. It can be quite a depressing job but for some reason I didn't mind going today. But as soon as I got in the doors I wanted to be back at home with my baby! It's my 4th weekend (out of 8) back at work, and you think that I would be used to it but NO. I would rather be a SAHM. So I'm looking for a mailer type job that I can do with her rather than be without her.
Thankfully I have a nice boss, I rang her up during the week and said I wanted to be home for my husbands first fathers day, so YAY no work tomorrow!
Clare, I know what you mean when you say that Joshie gets upset with noise, we went around to my Dad's house on Thursday and for some reason she randomly screamed her head off at my Stepmum and Stepsister - loved my dad though (which pissed my Stepmum off wickedly!). I thought it might be wind, but she was so good the next day it just must have been all the yahoo and noise. Poor kid, my family can be overwhelming at the best of times!
Unfortunately we have to go back for fathers day tomorrow.
Toni, I started Olivia in all her 00 Clothes in the last week, I'm such a little shopper that I didn't realise how much I have bought and have ended up with a gazillion bodysuits - in all shades of pink. Oh well I'll know better for the next size She can still squeeze into a few of her 000's but I can't be naffed, I'll save them for #2!
I need to lose about 40kg before that happens though!

Boo the weekend is over - Monday sucks, bring on next weekend!!
Olivia is a bit constipated from the gavisgon that she's on. So I rang up heathline and got the ratio for fruit juice to cold boiled water (if you're interested): 5mls to 50mls. Unfortunately Olivia needs something with no acid in it, so just extra cold boiled water it is.
What have you girls been up to this weekend?

I think I spend way too much time talking to myself on this thread, I tried Olivia with some cold boiled water yesterday evening but it was *uncool mum* so I might try again this arvo with some warmed boiled water.
I was going to go into town today and do some posting but the weather is so crappy!

Hi chicks! Sorry have been so quiet lately. It's been pretty busy for us, Joshie and I are going on holiday today to Wellington. Am so looking forward to it, but am a little worried about how he will settle in a new place. He's so happy at home, and refuses point blank to sleep in anything other than his cot.... great for home, but not so good when elsewhere!! We got an exersaucer the other day, and Joshie loves it!! He's so long though that he's almost on the tallest height!! He's now in size 0 clothes too!! Ahh, my baby is getting so big!!! Hope you are all well, and your little ones are great too

I'll have a look into the sippy cup idea, Olivia's bowels movements have changed their time of the day. Used to be a dirty nappy at 7am, now it's not till after 11am that I'm finding them. The gaviscon is making everything slow down a little.

Peace did you get a highchair? Personally I think a trip to the warehouse is very exciting lol!! Leo wakes every morning between 5-6 to do a poo and then sometimes goes back to sleep, the revolting child!! Got his immunisations done today, he was such a stunch baby lol, cried when the needle went in all 3 times then was up smiling and staring at everyone in the witing room, nosey parker that he is!!

Went and got the high chair that I wanted, the chair part can be adjusted high or low in the frame and there is a 5 point harness. It was the 2nd to last one so I got it for $115 instead of $155. Thank God for that!
Olivia SCREAMED at her last load of imm.'s I'm not looking forward to the 5 month ones at all I'm starting to become a wussy mummy when usually I pride myself of being strong for my girl!
I see that Leo is 4 and a half months, were they his 3 month or 5 month?
God this has been the most boring day ever, I've been waiting for Olivia to wake up so I can play with her but she is teething (tooth #3), constipated, going through a growth spurt and having a bit of bad wind, so she's pretty tired and grizzly today, poor little mitten. So here I am with my chores all done sneaking internet time and trying not to type loud and snort at things so I don't wake her.

I wasn't going to give her bonjela as it isn't for babies under 4 months. I took her to the Dr's for her reflux and reiterated the instructions on the pack to him, he said to ignore them! I'm going to try a little arnica and some rescue remedy before her next feed (my hippy potions), see if they work at all. I was thinking that Olivia teething early might be bad as she is too young, but the plunket nurse seemed quite impressed with how clever she is - so there you go. Olivia has fast growing nails as well, I cut them on Mon and Tues and need to cut them again tonight!! Maybe she has a high funtioning thyroid gland or something!? There is a part of the brain that produces the hormones that makes teeth and nails grow well, I just can't remember what bit.

Hi Ladies. I have just found this forum and I think its great so I thought I may as well introduce myself.
My name is Alyci and we have a little boy Mitchell Brooklyn James, he was born 8/5/06. He is such a good wee boy - sleeps really well and seems to be big for his age (at 14weeks he last weighed in at 7.7kgs). He is our first child. We have recently started him on some solids and he is jumping at the chance. He started rolling from tummy to back at 2.5 weeks but is yet to roll the other way. He to loves the excersaucer and jolly jumper. I work fulltime so may not be on here very often but will read when I get the chance.
Here is a pic

Hey Alyci!
Welcome to the Oh Baby April, May, June Mum's thread!
I think all you girls are starting to gang up on me with your boys!
Chatter can be a bit thin on the ground most days but it's good to have some more friends!
Mitchell looks like a very handsome wee chap, I love chubby bubbahs! My BF has one!
What food's did you start Mitchell on Alyci?
I'm thinking of starting Olivia on solids this week (after much uhming and ahring). Although I must say that I had the misfortune of opening this website: http://www.kellymom.com - KellyMom.com
Which scared the pants off me, it pretty much made me think I'm a bad parent for the choices and unlikely circumstance that have evolved in my short time as a parent. I mean I had no BM so had to FF and this website is all "you shouldn't do that, you're making your baby sick!"
GAH I will never learn not to open american websites on pregnancy or baby related issues.
We had a good weekend, went out to my BIL's farm for a break, got one of those split level portacots which was great for changing her nappy. Olivia didn't sleep well though and was pretty tired and grumpy when I put her to bed last night. I hope she has a 2 hour sleep this morning, it will put her back together a bit better. Right I need to have a shower and then wash all the cow poo out of Dale's clothes! Then it's off to lunch with some friends that have a disgustingly well behaved 3 month old child!

I started Olivia on her first solid yesterday, banana watered down with formula, she had just chugged back a whole bottle and doing the "woman you need to FEED ME" grizzle not even 25 mins later, she thought it was interesting, stopped grizzling, I shoved in the first 1/4 teaspoon and she chewed and swallowed the next couple of 1/4 teaspoons I let her sip at then I stopped, I didn't want her to get bunged up or have a bad reaction. We had poos this morning so hopefully it contained the banana, no spewing or rash but still waiting just in case. Took Olivia to Plunket house for another weigh (I weighed her last week on Wednesday) and she gained 200gms in 1 week! I'm so proud, you would never know that she has a heart murmur or reflux with that weight gain!
Where have all you girls gone??

Hiya Peace, I'm still here, just been slack!
Yay Olivia on the weight gain!! My chubby boy was weighed last friday when he got his shots (which he was fine with! after all my worrying) and he was 8.2 kg!! Was wanting him weighed as I have pulled out the big carseat and given it a wash as he is getting too big for the baby capsule. Banana is a good idea, might try that today for lunch!! Leo has tried baby rice and pumpkin and sweetcorn (watties).
Welcome Alycia!! Your wee mitchell is a cutie!
Clare hope your trip has gone well!!
Heres the pumpkin monster!

as you can tell he thinks the eating thing is pretty cool!

I have only tried banana watered down with thickened formula, I'm going to do the 4 day thing and then change to something else, I'm probably going to mash up some carrot tomorrow... hmm maybe I can do that tonight?
Solids group was pretty boring, they pretty much say start now but WATCH OUT!!! Which annoyed me a little as if being a first time mother doesn't cause me enough panic. I'm going to try and take a relaxed approach. You know the more she is eating the more she is drinking? I've fed her, given her a couple of spoonfuls of banana, then she guzzles down the milk like a shot! How much is Leo eating? Is he that thirsty afterwards? I was going to be a good mum and wait a couple of days before giving her more, but the more days go past the more hungry she looks (maybe I'm just going mad) she's chewing her hand and soft toys to bits.
Gah!

Hey chicks! Sorry, I am so slack these days I just get so carried away with my day, by the time I get some 'me' time I watch a bit of telly, check my emails, and hang out with my man. Need to get back on here more often! I tried Joshie on baby cereal with added apple today, and he just let it dribble out of his mouth!! Wasn't too impressed at all with it! I'm going to go to the solids talk in a couple of weeks and see what they have to say. Hey, do any of your littlies have eczema?? Joshie has it quite badly, so am taking him to the dr tomorrow, but would be interested to see what others do to treat it.
Our trip to Wellington was great, but Joshie got sick so was unable to catch up with everyone I wanted to. Was hoping to spend lots of time with a good friend who has recently had her first baby too, but only managed one visit
Hope you are all well tonight

I have a friend in Welly who recently had her first baby too! Her name is Ang...
I have another friend whose baby has eczema, she just uses aqueous cream as a moisturiser and a steroid cream (very sparingly) to get rid of the worst of it.
Tried carrots today - NEYUCK.

Not the same person! Would have been funny if it was though Dr's visit went well. We have aqueous cream which we need to bath him in, Lemnis Fatty cream for moisturising and hydrocortisone cream for the bad spots to be used very sparingly. So hopefully this helps my poor wee man. Speaking of whom, he has been asleep for an hour and a half so far!! This is a miracle, normally I'm lucky to get him to sleep for 45mins during the day!! Think he's having a growth spurt though as he's feeding every two hours during the day at the moment, and he's had a couple of 4-5am wake ups these last couple of days. He's sooooooo big now!! And he's now going in the big bath, and he can't fit in his baby one anymore!!!
How are you chicks today??

Olivia has been waking up at 5am for a feed as well Clare, maybe it's an age thing as I know of someone else that is having the same thing too. Me and Dale have been taking Olivia into the big tub... and of course joining in, it's funny to watch Olivia be so innocent and cute as she stands on the wrong part of Dale!!
Just making cupcakes this afternoon for my sister in law's leaving town BBQ. They taste pretty good so far, I've had three!

Well it was a trip to town to visit the osteopath today to try and see if we could help Olivia's reflux situation. I'm actually going to make a big post and post it in the main thread. But it went well, and I cried buckets ! I have an appointment with a specialist tomorrow reguarding Olivia's heart murmur to see what it is doing. I'm actually still feeling stress at the thought of that but I can only breathe and remember that it is probably nothing.
I'm tired, this weekend has been long and tiring! Would love to have a nap, but managed to knock Olivia out of her routine with this mornings trip to town, so I would probably not nod off for ages and when I do she will be wanting to play!
Hope you girls are being good.
P.S Don't know how the cupcakes went at the BBQ, we left before desert (Olivia getting tired and crying) - thank God, I was pretty bored anyhow!

Hey KM, We had a visit to the pediatric cardiographer yesterday to have some looks at Olivia's heart, he didn't tell me that there was much else wrong it is still a "mild heart deformity" which is just a thickened pulminary valve, I have to wait another 6 - 12 months to have another look at her heart to see whether it deteriorates of not, which she will probably be sedated for, fun, fun! - not... I spent the whole time shaking like a leaf and hoping that Dale would be my pillar of support, instead he sat on a chair behind me and kept tapping me on the butt when I started to get in his line of vision of the monitor - GAH men . I suppose it was helpful though, I didn't pass out because of this annoying tapping on my butt cheek every 5 minutes!
After 4 days of being out of her new routine Olivia is back to stage one again and since she had a rough nights sleep last night she's had a crappy day - oh well. Today is her first day in her own room She has slept well so far, but I bet she misses my snoring tonight! Oh God, I'm going to miss my baby!
We have also started and finished the pears, I think we liked carrots better than pears for some reason - probably because there was formula mixed in with the carrots! I'm trying her on kumera tomorrow, that should be interesting and hopefully she wont get too bunged up. I'm going to make it vege, fruit, vege, fruit till she is about 6 months then go with what she likes the most. I haven't tried any baby rice yet as she might get constipated from having that as well as the gavisgon, I have little faith in man made foods! So roughage it is!
Hope you girls had a good weekend

HI
I love the gap between Kalem and Madison i always wanted to have my kids close in age but things happened and it didn't work out that way but now i get to spend quality time with both of them Madison during the day when kalems at school and kalem when he gets home from school as madison is ready for bed then. Kalem found it hard at the beganing as he had been on his own for so long but i made sure he got to help me with her and he loved that. Madison just adores kalem and smiles and talks to him which is great and kalem loves talking to her but im sure thats going to change a little when she can get into his lego etc.

I think Madison is teething to as all she does when shes awake is dribble dribble and if she doesn't have a bib on she would be wet after 10 minutes and as soon as gets anything in her hand it goes staight to her mouth.

When she has the hard out dribbling that she got with her first 2 teeth, I made sure she had on bibs so that she didn't have soaked t shirts and that her chin didn't get any wet rash. I used bonjela which worked great, also arnica and rescue remedy for inflammation and when she was really grizzly. Olivia also enjoyed my finger rubbing her gums/teeth as well (clean fingers!). My friend gave me a great tip if you have dummy babies, just put a little bonjela on the dummy and pop it in. Olivia grew out of hers but I got a new one and froze it and held it in her gums for her to chew on which was a blessing! Some babies just get a sore tummy with teething so a gripe water can help, it helped with Olivia a little.
We have just had a shocker of a weekend and I'm still reeling and tired from it. Olivia had a crappy week last week, I thought that her reflux was playing up with a new formula I have put her on (Regular Karicare as opposed to Gold), turns out she is just bunged up with wind, I was a little beside myself last Friday, she slept less than three ours the whole day. This morning she has just hit the 2 hour mark and I'm contemplating a shower, I was meant to take one when I first put her to bed (our pipes are loud and she is right beside the bathroom) but I got busy. Looking forward to a better week, yahoo for school holidays, no noisey street (we live beside a high school).
Hope everyone is well!

I'm already back! and I hate it... We still qualify to get a significant amount of family assistance and will probably be reimbersed at the end of this financial year quite a bit because we get back paid for the 8 weeks that we left it after Olivia's birth. And I estimated way over what I was actually going to earn as I have since dropped down in hours (from every weekend to every other weekend).

He is still enjoying food - he had some pumpkin the other day - Gee does it stain!!!!! He is also starting to roll from his back to his tummy.
He has been getting over a cold but he is not having as much formula as he was before hand - or is this just an age thing??? He will not have anymore than 150mls at a time - yesterday between 6.30am and 2pm he only had 2 150mls bottles. He isnt grumpy or anything - anyone else experienced anything like this?
