Hi x

I'm taking Roo to the doctors (hopefully tomorrow if I can get an appointment) but I've stupidly been looking at Google for 'medical advice' and now I'm all in a panic, and need some re-assurance

He's never been a big pooper (so to speak) and has been through phases of pooping only once a week and even 10 days once, but more recently, averaged out at about once every 4 days. We started solids 3 weeks ago and he didn't poo for 14 days! I was of course expecting an explosion, but all he did was a 'normal' sized poop, but still very loose. Since then (that was 5 days ago) all he's done are little 'squirts' of about a teaspoons worth of poop and it's a dry pasty texture.

He's not in pain but I have noticed that he's seeming a little pale, but then again, I maybe imagining that as my OH thinks he looks fine. Temp fine. Sleeps at night, but his day time naps have gone to pot.

I've been pedaling his legs, rubbing his tummy, tried to give him kiwi fruit but he'd not a huge fan of fruit. He did manage an apple based puree though . That was the first puree we had as we were BLW. I haven't given him any soilds for 3 days, because I'm now worried that that is what's causing the problem.

Anyone experience anything similar?

Sounds like he's blocked up. Pasty can mean old as well as the other horrid stuff that Google says, it can also mean virus poo.

They'll give him something to help get his moving. Tried prune juice though?

Poor wee guy! definitely sounds like he's a bit blocked up.

When my DS was constipated when he was a baby my mum got me to give him a teaspoon of brown sugar in some warm water, and that got him going! He drunk it down fast as it was nice and sweet lol, but brown sugar works so well(works for me too as I have issues with that).

Coloxyl drops work too. You can get them from the chemist, they take about a day to work.

Thanks for the replies.
I've given him some brown sugar this morning, but we have an appointment with the docs this afternoon.

Went to the docs, who checked his tummy and said he didn't have a bloackage *phew* but I was right to bring him in, cause dry poops aren't good and you need to get things moving sooner rather than later.

So, 1 x teaspoon of lactulose and 30 mins later

LOL That stuff really gets things moving!
