Hi - I was just wondering whether anyone could suggest where I might find a Sports Bra for a size 16J

I am still breastfeeding but weaning and I have joined the gym and don't want to tear any important tissue!!

I have tried the Bendon outlet I have down the road and the biggest they had was a 16G but because of the criss-cross straps at the back it just wouldn't come down over my chest - most ridiculous style I have ever seen, and they were $80!!! I am not spending $80 on a bra!!! I really wanted something as cheap/affordable as possible.

Any suggestions would be great - someone out there must have big knockers like me (sigh). I hope they start deflating now I'm weaning!

I think you will be sh*t outta luck trying to get something that will actually support you enough as well as be cheap. That simply doens't exist in a sports bra when your that size (I'm an H right now). $80 for a sports bra is actually pretty reasonable.

http://www.avokado.co.nz - avokado is an NZ company that do big boobie bras and they are great to deal with, but not cheap.

I use to wear my best bra and get a crop top that was too small and squeeze that overtop to try and limit the bounce.

It sux being big-boobed when it comes to cost of bras. Bahhh

Even DD was hard to find bras in general stores at times. I SO wish I would go back down to that without my boobs going saggy - but there ya go TMI on a baby forum.

Out of interest - when weaning how quickly does your bra size change? DS has 1-2 breastfeeds a day and in three weeks time I'll be taking him off completely all going well...

I think it varies. With Daniel I was an E/F cup, went up to a G and when I weaned him at 3months old they didn't change at all. But I know with lots that it does.

If you wanna exercise its best to pay a bit extra for a decent bra cause it will hurt if you don't have the right support. Hurt either your boobs or your back. Plus it doesn't help with the sagging having them bounce all over the place.

If you are in Auckland you could try rich lingerie http://www.richlingerie.co.nz/ - Rich Lingerie
They are definately not cheap though.

I have just purchased a bikini top and a few other things from here http://www.bravissimo.com/default.aspx - Linky they are UK based and this is the first time I have used them but a girl I work with recomended it.

If you really want to work out and just spend the money once for a great, well built sports bra I cannot rave enough about the Enell sports bra. Find a linky for a NZ site here: http://www.sportsupport.co.nz/sports_bra.html - linky

I have one of these and it's true - once you get yourself in your boobs are NOT going anywhere. It's fabulous! Go to their website to work out their sizing.

I found it completely worth the money and I've had mine for over 5 years and it's still going strong.

The thing is that I am weaning DS right now and I am exercising so I will go down some sizes (here's hoping!) DS should be completely weaned in 3wks time - I don't know how long it takes to reduce your size after weaning but I'll be really annoyed if I spend $80+ for a bra I end up wearing for a month or two

With the Enell sports bra I mentioned earlier I haven't had a problem with my boobs changing size. I wore it when I had my big G knockers during breastfeeding and I'm now down to a DD/E and it still fits great. The main fit is around your ribcage and it smushes your boobs in. Buuuuuuuuut, you don't get mono boob cause you are strapped in so tight that each boobs stays on its designated side (which was a real plus for me).

hehe - but seriously, I have NEVER found a sports bra like it. I used to wear two bras to the gym as that was the only way to keep things in a semi state of semblance. I'm a size 12 and wear between an DD/G as I mentioned and was wearing a size 0 in their sizing. They go up to a size 7 I think so should easily fit your size.

Whenever I put it on I feel so much lighter cause it takes all the weight off my front. I stand up so much straighter - it's insane to realise how heavy the bloody things actually are! I kind of want to wear it around everywhere haha!

Hey mollycat, that sounds like an awesome sports bra - will definitely go and check them out. I've been looking too as I've been doing the 'double bra' approach while running and at the gym and I'm still not terribly comfy! I'm still breastfeeding too (and plan to be for a while) so I guess my chest won't be going down for a bit (boo!).

I'm going to second Mollycat and say that Enell bras are THE BEST!!! I'm a G cup and these are simply amazing bras that you won't budge in. I've run miles in mine, as well as lots of gym sessions, and they last and last. Gone are the days of two bra workouts!! My hubby thinks its hilarious watching me wrestling the girls into one, but once they're in they stay put, big time. I can't recommend them enough!

Will definitely save up and get one. In the meantime will take on the two bra idea lol
