So we are getting a new mattress soon and i want to look after it. Im a bad sleeper so i dont want something that comes off easy!

what do you have on your mattress to protect it? Do i really need to buy a $250 mattress protecter that the people in the shop are trying to sell me!

Personally I would spend the money on a mattress protector. We bought a new bed 5 years ago and it was VERY expensive at nearly $6k and I am kicking myself now that I haven't protected the mattress especially after having a baby and flooding the bed one night

Shop around as I have seen them alot cheaper than that!

$250! Cheeky!

Briscoes have 50% off sales every other weekend. We bought a good mattress protector for half price - about $50 for super king.

If you're a restless sleeper, get one that is like a fitted bottom sheet (elasticated all round) rather than the ones with corner straps.

peachy- we got a new mattress about 4years ago (didnt spend as much as you though!) and had the same problem but with the animals. im also kicking myself about it!

I got a mattress protector from briscoes a month or so ago but dont know how good it is, as there isnt much point in really using it now. i think i might get another one (so we can use one even when the other is getting washed) and a really thick blanket for under it. i just really want to make sure that we look after this one from the start

I just have a fitted mattress protector with a fitted sheet, both seem to hold ok. Again, bought at Briscoes in one of their sales.
