| Hey everyone! I was just wondering if anyone could reccomend me a midwife in the Lower Hutt area. I have not lived here very long and i have no idea what i am looking for!!! any help would be fantastic thanks :) |

| Karen Lash her number is 0294036787. Shes really lovely and laid back she told me from the get go that I was the boss and whatever I say goes! Only down side is she doesn't do home visits but her office is right above cashconverters in the hutt |

I had Alison Wightman and she was fantastic. Very no nonsense, great with care and aftercare! She didn't deliver my baby though (as it was her night off!) but had her back up Lesley Gummer who is also totally awesome. ------------- http://lilypie.com">  http://lilypie.com">

You could try Birthworks, that's where my midwife is at. Depends what you're after, they are very pro-natural birth (they will deliver at either hospital or your home - I'm choosing to birth at home  )

Edith is amazing but won't do Lower Hutt unless you have previously delivered with her before. I think most of the rest of the group do do lower hutt though. Liz Hayes (from UH midwives) was good with ds. CAlled a spade a spade (if you like that kind of thing) ------------- http://lilypie.com">

When I had DS i found it really hard to find a midwife (hopefully that's not the case now). What I did in the end was every time a MW couldn't take me I asked her for the names and phone numbers of every other MW that she knew. Hope that helps somewhat. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

Yes it must be a busy time. Ive also found a few have been booked. Im in Upper Hutt though so have a UH midwife.

Aw thats bummer!!! Its hard when you move to a new town and dont know anyone!! about 5 of my friends have had babies or are about to have babies back in nelson so they not helpful lol thanks guys you have been fantastic

and completely OT but finally got the guts to tell my father and hes over the moon hes going to be a grand dad!!!!!! I was worried he would be disappointed in me being quite young (im 19) Woohoo!!! |
